Got 3 of these 19" 1366x768 screens for $20 each, nice deal or I dun goofed?
>>56115016
It's an ok deal. But why would you need them? I have a 19" Dell and 20" Samsung and no idea what to do with them.
>>56115657
thought to do a triple portrait setup
>>56115016
Pretty much useless for general computing use, maybe you can find something else to do with them.
Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 are all getting forced spyware.

>October 2016's Patch Tuesday will see the release of the first Monthly Rollup for Windows 7 and 8.1. This will be a single package delivering all of the security and reliability improvements released that month.
Prapare your butts.
>>56114986
I have automatic updates turned off for windows 7 and have manually removed the uninstalled spyware tier updates that they push to your computer automatically trying to get you to install them.
>>56115011
From now on there is no way to get security only patched for end users. It's all or nothing
>>56115033
Then don't update
you will never get a virus if you are not a moron
Hey /g/,
I would like to make my own PC, and I was curious where should I go to get started? I'm not asking for advice on specific parts or builds. But are there any thorough tutorials or books that will guide me through the process and answer any questions I have along the way?
How does one learn what they're doing without fucking anything up? How worried should I be about doing something that I can't undo, when it comes to building a PC?
I've always been that faggot that buys Alienware and shit like that, and I want to step away from that and actually learn more about the machines I use all day.
(I came to this realization with my "fancy" 80 dollar headset broke. I bought a 20 dollar telemarketer headset and not only was it more comfortable and lighter, but it also has better sound quality and a better mic.)
>>56114974
Search for "how to build a computer" on youtube. There are plenty of visual guides to take you from start to finish, and also tell you about precautions and how to handle delicate parts.

M'kay! Thank you Anon.

Can you match numbers and letters?
Can you handle building a lego set?
You can build a computer
So I'm a university student from Denmark. I wanna buy a laptop in the range of $500 USD. I want it to more an all round machine that I can use for random stuff, projects, browsing, hd movies and anime watching, casual gaming (assfaggots) on medium to low settings. Now I don't know what to get specifically. Ordering from a physical shop is what I want to do because I can go get my money back or get it fixed easily if something happens. So far I've been looking for the following specs
>i5 6200U processor or some other 6th gen one
>8 GB ram
>128 GB or more SSD
>Some AMD/Nvidea graphic card (NOT Intel HD which is garbage)
>around 15 inch display
Every computer I've seen is too expensive here, and I've found Lenovo ideapad 300 on the a web store but it's been getting bad reviews lately though the average is 8.5. I don't know if I can trust that store.
So any help would he appreciated. Do you guys think I'm delusional about the specs and price?
Should I settle for HDD or intel HD? Should I forget about all gaming on a laptop?
I don't have a CPU right now and that's why I want reasonable to low specs. I wanna keep the price low because if I go all the way up to 900 dollars there's no justification about not buying a macbook which is way more durable.
I also intend to install Linux on it. I've used mint alot in the past.
>>56114908
Thinkpad T420 can do all of that well. And you'll have $300 dollars left over. I run meme of legends at 120 fps on medium settings.
This is the closest you'll get. Though, you'll need to swap in an SSD.

He's a mod, when you post he can see lots of things about you, such as device, OS, IP. I recommend you don't take mods mad as they can do some serious damage to you.

ARM won. Intel officially gave up.
LG is Intel's first ARM foundry customer.
Intel made ARM chips in its foundries before though. See also XScale

is ARM botnet like x86 is?
>>56114759
varies by vendor
How is it acceptable for a major banking company like PayPal to limit their password length to 20 characters? Do they want their users passwords to get hacked. This is bullshit.
So has any password been cracked because its lenght was of 20 characters?
2fa
use it.

They're not a banking company, you idiot.
getting an MSI GTX 970
wondering how severe the bottleneck will be running along a FX-4350 at 4.2ghz standard clock, any examples on fps for games like cs etc would be much appreciated /g/ cheers
depends what you're going to be playing. something like gta 5 or arma 3 might be kinda shitty
im coming from a 750ti on the same setup, gta 5 was actually running quite well, solid 40-60 fps, however arma 3 is 'okay' but not brilliant, it was on medium graphics at about 25-35 fps. will there be a difference? I play mainly csgo and arma 2/3 aswell as dayz
>>56114631
you won't feel the difference because bottleneck. You should always upgrade your CPU and then worry about other elements.
I just picked this up from a dump for $1500. Did I do good bros? I dont know computers that well lol
He said the specs are:
Amd A6-5400k processor
Windforce 960 2gb
6gb ram
400w psu I think
5x 100gb 5400rpm drives
This is what was said on the paper he gave me.
Any good? Looks like in good shape to me but idk I usually play xbox
>in good shape
>duct tape on heatsink
>terrible cable management
>dusty as fuck
>AMD CPU
>>56114447
So how is it
>>56114459
$400-500 at most. and that's being generous.
You were all wrong on what was wrong with it try again /g/ now that OP knows what was wrong with it.

Have fun with your dull thread and your dreary life. If you hope to start a career once you're an adult you should work on your grammar a bit.
