#1: Thunderbolt 2 can't do shit with eGPUs unless you've got a specialty machine. I think dell or Alienware made 1 or 2 laptops that could use a proprietary eGPU device over thunderbolt 2.

#2: anything but the newer thunderbolt 3/proprietary eGPU solutions are dumb as hell. You're sacrificing everything that makes your laptop portable, and honestly, the extra money spent could have just gone into a real desktop. The newer solutions, where you can use the laptop's built-in display, and are either powered off the connector/have built in power supplies are alright. Because they usually also have USB ports and Ethernet ports and more. You plug in your charger, plug in your eGPU dock, you're good. Older solutions that had you unscrewing access panels, taking out WLAN cards, required an external monitor, and you still had to have all the necessary ports for your mouse, keyboard, gamepads, ethernet, audio, and more were just dumb, had way too many cables and other nonsense involved, and most people stopped using them within months due to the hassle of it, or just kept their laptops permanently in-place, and basically just had really weakshit desktops with none of the benefits of a desktop or a laptop.

EGPUs work, but they are not for everybody.

Use your brain to figure out if having one will actually benefit you.

You'll also need to use your brain to figure out how to make it work, get the most out of it and understand its limitations.

Haswell celerons can handle games paired with that level of gpu just fine. Once paired the 1820 with a gtx 780 and I was able to handle most games at high, some maxed with no issues. Maybe if you're lucky you can find one for 30 to 40 bucks off eBay.
Other than that, the cheapest of the cheap can maybe get a q6600 if you're that desperate.

Older macbooks had an application to run full hardware diagnostics. I don't know when your fagbook was built, but if you can't use that diagnostics application, you should look into changing your HDD/SSD. If that doesn't help, you'll have to get a new fagbook. That wouldn't be a problem for you since you're a richfag.

if your macbook has a regular hdd it should be a failing hdd, do backup, replace hdd for 50 dollars and go. similar symptoms when the hdd connector cable is fucked.

might check the RAM too, but this should be more of a crashing experience :)

the hdd guess is based on my experience with recording in logic - if you're not recording it might be something else.

Android is shilled because of customization and tinkering. As far as security purposes go, Google rapes your privacy and doesn't bother to use lube. Windows 10 is a creepy step to what the future will hold. It's intrusive and the average user doesn't know how to turn off the majority of its privacy flaws. We're getting conditioned to using products under the illusion of ease of use and all they end up being are data collecting machines. OS X doesn't even intrude as much as Windows 10.
