I'm looking for a motherboard that supports overclocking for my old 3570k. I have a small case (pic related) and can't find anything on Newegg. Do any of you have suggestions?
>Prodigy
>small case
>>56159647
It's large for a mini-itx, but i need a small mobo. It would be much easier to find a z77 ATX than a z77 mini-itx.
1155 is too old to expect to find on Newegg, but look for a P8Z77I DELUXE
Hey /g/ where's that guy that shorted AMD stock?
Probably buying AMD stock again.
AMD's stock is at the highest point its been since Vishera was released 4 years ago.

Back to 2012 levels.
Memes aside, what is the essential difference between an activated windows copy and a not activated one?
I am talking about pop-ups, messages, instant logout..

>he didn't torrent an activated version

Will we ever truly solve the solve the problem/stem the flow of android fragmetation?
Most devices are still Lollipop and some are even still on Kitkat. Maybe Google actually dipping their hands into the market could alleviate the issue if those rumors of them launching an iPhone rival have any truth to them.
>>56159415
"We" can solve the problem by not supporting terrible software by not buying android, instead supporting extremely high quality software by buying iPhones.

So I need a better mouse, for gaming (WoT and PlaneSide 2). My current mouse is a POS HP I got for 5 bux at a good will. It's a PS/2 optical mouse, which was important because my KVM was PS/2. My new KVM is USB so I can upgrade.
The mouse guide sais the Intellimouse 3.0 is good. Searching eBay I see they can be had for 30-50 bux a pop. Good good. In white or black... less good.
I also see these "Steelseries Microsoft" mice. Pic related. I'm guessing these are cheap clones made in China. Normally I'd avoid them. But a- having a red mouse would be sweet and II- they have a non-glossy finish is a PLUS in my book.
Anyone have experience with these mice? Do they have an adequate sensor? Are they durable ? Or are they simply crappy crap crap?
TL;DR - Microsoft Steelseries Intellimouse 3.0. Avoid?
>>56159705
I don't want to discuss Pokemon Go. I want to talk about mice.
>>56159390
Intelli 3.0 is good but only for medium-large hands. If you have small cuck hands like me the Roccat Kone Pure is perfect, although it gets the double click problem fairly fast (mine got one after 2 years of intense use, not happy about that for a 70 euro mouse)

- Post your list, rate other anon's, ask questions in general.
- Always state the purpose of your PC and your budget. If you are asking for improvements, clarify whether you want to lower price, or improve specs or build quality.
laptop broke and am on an old ass pc that can barely play hearthstone
1 month now any day now the parts will come reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
1 month of vacation and gaming wasted i cant take this ill become a monk if i wait any longer
Need help deciding a case for an ITX build:
Coolermaster N200, cheap, fits both mATX and mITX, but apparently has a bunch of noise problems.
Define Nano S, $25 more expensive, but is more premium with noise dampeners on each side
Thermaltake V1, proper ITX case, cheap, but a nightmare to cable manage. Specs says it may not fit my GPU (287mm vs 285mm maximum allocated space)
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/NfQHzM
helping a friend come up with a build, trying to keep it in the $1200 USD range, any input on this build? Reviews of all the parts seem decent.
He's expressed that he isn't really interested in overclocking as of right now, so would switching to an i5-6500 be a good idea? I'm opposed to it because of the potential for overclocking in the future when his components become less relevant.
What does /g/ use to protect there computers?
Protect from what?

Will my Chinese router spy on me or is that an NSA/America exclusive feature?
>>56159285
Cheap routers don't have the capability to 'spy' on you. Things that spy on you are operating systems and internet-service providers.
>>56161493
Look up CALEA. It applies to routers.
>>56159285
Just for the CHinese, but they're not so bad compared to ours.
>he fell for the "mid-range card" meme
tfw gtx 960
>>56159182
They're mid range as in consoles. Cinematic 30 fps.
Also it's nice to see that the 480 an actual midrange card does nice.
>>56159182
Tfw just bought a brand new RX 470
Gonna get like 40 dps
Welp the eye can only see 30 fps anyways right guys :^)
Sometimes i start up Microsoft Edge because i get tired of Chrome and Firefox slowing down on certain pages.
Edge is fast and Clean.
How many of you will switch Edge to your standard browser when they have implemented extensions?
They already have...
>>56159160
I can't find anything. Isn't it a "preview" build only that can install extensions?
>>56159204
no, it's in the anniversary update
hey /g/, do you think a monitor with...
>4k
>oled
>144hz refresh rate
>g-/freesync
>10ms or lower displaylag
...will appear on the market in 2017?
bonus: all of the above in a 21:9 form factor.
i personally think it's possible, but 21:9 is stretching it.
>>56159132
>bonus: all of the above in a 21:9 form factor.
Yeah I was gonna say ultrawide
>ultrawide is bae
I say 2018 maybe
>>56159199
yeah, people say that 21:9 in 4k is not feasible with today's graphics cards, but once the 1080ti drops (i hope it does with a similar distance in release dates as the 980 and 980ti) two of them will probably run anything.
>>56159287
It's easily feasible, I currently play at 3440x1440 100hz with one 1080. Just two 1080s would be fine if you left off those 3-4 BS graphical settings that don't so much. Ti's would definitely be fine.
I have 2 HDDs in 1 computer.
I want them to never 'see' each other. (be active at the same time).
How do I do this without plugging in and out them each time I need to change which one I'm using?
Turning them off in bios is not good.
>>56159107
cmd -> diskpart -> listdisk -> sleect disk # -> offline disk #
>>56159152
wouldn't that require them to be on at the same time at some point? and would it let me switch between them every time I turn PC on?
>>56159107
Why would you want that?
What sort of computational problems would even require a quantum computer?
We got to the moon with a pocket calculator. Are there any real world applications for quantum computers besides good graphics in video games?
>>56159060
Cryptography, data retrieval, quantum simulation, AI, weather modelling, I can go on. I suggest you actually look into it more.
>>56159060
i have no fucking idea how quantum computers would work so no idea but i heard they would be a step up in cryptography because they'd be able to brute force faster
Research superposition and the qubit. If you understand quantum physics on a small level you should be able to answer the question yourself.
I just picked up an Arduino, what should I do with it?
Put it up you boi poocie.
Why did you buy it if you don't have a purpose for it?
>>56159061
It looked fun to do
Fuck you AMD why don't you die already!
Agreed. What we need is no-competition in GPU manufacturing so one company can charge whatever the fuck they want and say 'fuck you' to innovation.
>>56159057
weve reached the end of innovation and are ready for a state thats a cycle. Its the same thing in tv and cinema with remakes. It only needs to last a life-time.
>>56159039
I like AYYMD but I wish that they would either get their shit together, which they 'seem' to be doing. Or be bought out by a competent company like ibm.
