FTFY

Stop repeatedly buying new shit and lean to solder stuff you break.
Stop manhandling shit like an autist.

Why doesn't 4chan support VP9? YouTube has supported it for years without any major problems.

So I need a powerbank for my semester abroad and found a couple of nice looking ones (pic related)

>Lumsing Glory Series P1 Plus 10000mAh - 24€

>EC Technology 22400 mAh - 30€
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00F5Q4F0U/?tag=powerbanktest-21

Which one can you guys recommend, which ones do you use? Can't spend too much of a buck on those things so the price should be halfway decent.

Also, what about this one (for my gf)?

I bought an Aukey 12k mAh one with solar panel for ~26€, so far I am happy with it. The solar panel is more of a gimmick I think, but it didn't make the thing expensive.
>>
>>56164791

I use a RAVPower. Has about 16000mAh and it's pretty reliable
>>
>>56164911

>solar panel

does it actually work? can't imagine it actually loading the battery for more than 5%

Is anyone rocking a silent PC case they can vouch for? I'm moving my computer into a critical-listening environment (studio) but I don't have a hardware cabinet. Basically looking to get my computer quiet as possible.

Look at streacom cases, they act as a big heatsink for your cpu. They are nice. There was a Youtube hackintosh build in one of them, where it had to be silent af.
>>
>>56164817
Zalman made a case like that once, I think, where the case was part of the heatsink.

Anyway I have a Fractal R4 Blackout, and you can get those pretty damn quiet. Not entirely fanless, though, but near enough that with the fans turned down I couldn't hear it unless I got down on the floor and put my ear up to it.

you need to pick all your parts with this shit in mind though. Lower-power CPU, enormous heatsink so you can use a slow 120mm+ fan, maybe a fanless CPU. If you can afford to ditch dedicated graphics, or just use a bottom-end model (I think a GF 720 is the fastest thing you can get with passive cooling, last I looked) you'll have an easier time getting it quiet enough.

>90s
>computers are magical, you could be entertained for hours discovering how to do simple things in paint or wordperfect

will computers ever be interesting again?

I think what made it interesting was that back then computer programs weren't as complex and you were closer to what was actually going on. Now there's a dozen layers of autoconfiguration and magic and interpreters and abstractions in between when you hit enter and when something happens.

Try making a website. Back in the 90s I remember getting a library book about HTML and typing it into notepad. I signed up for geocities and uploaded it and my page showed up. there was a simple correlation between the stuff you had and what happened. Nowadays either you sign up for some blogging platform that does all of it for you and you just paste in some content and pick a theme, or you deal with setting up the web server, setting up PHP, dealing with a bunch of CSS, tons of JS everywhere to talk to the server and do things on the back end... There's so many moving parts now that diving into the details of whats going on gets you lost and frustrated instead of giving you that little hit of "Oh! That's how that works!"

This is dumb though.

Computing in general is so complex and multi-faceted that you should never get bored.

Unless you are boring. Remember kids, only boring people are bored.
