>buy an android phone in 2016
>it doesn't lag at all
Why are we still pushing the lagdroid meme again? This isn't 2012.
>>56182697
Because people who paid $600+ for their shitty iPhone want to feel like they didn't get ripped off or they don't know jack shit about phones and want to pretend they know shit.
Anyway I was part of the latter. Have to say that after letting my cousin use her S7 I deeply regret buying my iPhone 6 plus.
>>56182746
The S7 is god tier
they get laggy after like a year, and because android is mostly for poor people they can't afford to upgrade every year
Why is ink so goddamn expensive?
cuz printers are cheap and businesses have to make money somewhere
>>56182696
it's not
>>56182696
Because nobody wants to buy that shit. The demand for printers is slowly on the decline.

Is Usenet a meme?
It's pretty fucking neat to just set up nzbget, sonarr and couchpotato and don't have to deal with anything after that. Everything's automated.
It's pretty good technically but there is literally no reason to use it to pirate stuff now that bittorrent exists.
I love usenet. It has ssl connection and you can download alot on usenet. It's much faster than torrents for me.
hey /g/
i have this idea for a free magazin without any ads.
i made a (crapy) demo so that u can see what im talking about: planet-express.org
would u like to write an article or a column?
Here's an article for you:I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

You need to find a volunteer editor, my man.
>>56183674
>volunteer
nah i have the servers anyway i dont need money
All I want from an editor is that it detects which language I'm using and
>uses appropriate syntax coloring
>has some sort of "Find declaration" button that jumps to where a variable or function is defined
>can find obvious errors (like accessing myDictionary["myField"] where "myField" isn't a valid field for myDictionary).
I'm currently using Geany and this doesn't work by default, I know vim has every plugin under the moon so I thought instead of trying to find plugins for Geany or Gedit or whatever, I could just get into vim once and for all. Thoughts?

Hello friends, wanting to try arch without the 'arch way' install. Which is best way to go? Also which DE is best DE?
Install Linux from scratch, then install gentoo. Installing Arch will now be very simple.
>>56182130
Arch Anywhere with Gnome. Gnome because, for whatever reason, it has become the poster child for Linux and tends to just work.
>>56182179
Gnome 3?
What are some lightweight browsers that work well on 32-bit Windows XP?
I'm trying to get this old ME era shitbox functional using XP. I've got 384MB of RAM and am running on a 700MHz Duron processor.
install gentoo

I have a problem /g/entlemen. I just installed a 960gb SSD on my system (pic related) and it shows up in BIOS but not Windows 10. Right now I have Windows 10 on a Sandisk 240gb SSD (C:) and I have a 1TB mechanical drive (D:). The new drive is connected to power and all of the drives are connected via SATA cables, just bought new SATA 3 cables for the new SSD. Is there anything I should look into as far as software, before assuming the drive or cable is bad?
go to disk manager in windows and assign it a letter and/or format it
if it aint there boot a loonix live distro to check if the drive is there
It doesn't show up in disk manager so you can format it?
the problem is windows

What is this? I wait for hours over 12hrs. Still no updates found.
Install some KB that say they update the agent. still nothing.... wait for hours.
Use WSUS offline to grab the updates and install them or leave it like that for a day or 2.
>>56181706
theres a massive rollup update you can download as a standalone install and it will install 1 million updates in one shot. and bring your system current as of the rollup release. then all you need is the updates afterwards which will be less after you install this huge package first
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3125574
as stated "This article describes a convenience rollup for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1-based computers. This rollup package includes most updates that were released after the release of SP1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, through April 2016. This convenience rollup is intended to make it easy to integrate fixes that were released after SP1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2."
that way you dont have to wait DAYS for windows update to download them all and another 8 hours to install them
>>56182857
oh you need to install SP1 first, BTW....
