Due to recent events, I have approximately $2000 to spend on a new gaming machine, the goal of which is to have a machine that can run high quality VR. And vidya. And developer shit. So kind of an all arounder, but VR needs to fucking happen.

Last time I asked here, I was checking out a Razer laptop with an EGPU. Specs were respectable, reviews were good and I liked the idea of a powerful machine I could just plug in at home and play anything and everything.

Well, then I happened along pic related. That is an AIO machine with user serviceable, discrete components, all tucked into a 34" curved 3440x1440 display. Considering I'm going for a monitor upgrade anyways, this is tempting. I've customized the default build as follows, for a price of $2546. I could probably shave $500 off by tiering down on the memory and GPU.

>Skorpion K1 Mechnical Gaming Keyboard w/ blue switches (this is free, I can't not get a keyboard)
>Gaming Chassis: 34" Curved Ultra WQHD Screen with 3440 x 1440 Resolution Gaming AIO
>CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i56600K 3.50GHz 6MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1151 (Skylake)
>Freebies: Intel 2K Game Bundle – Discount Code to Save up to 85% on 2K Game Bundle
>CPU / Processor Cooling Fan: LOOP AIO CPU Liquid Cooling system [+98]
>Motherboard: GIGABYTE GAZ170NGAMING 5 ITX w/ 802.11ac Wi Fi + BT, Killer GbLAN, USB 3.1, 1 >PCIe x16, 2 SATA
>Express, 6 SATA3, 1 Ultra M.2 [+12]
>RAM: 32GB (16GBx2) DDR4/2800MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance LPX)
>Video Card: GeForce® GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5
>PSU: Builtin 450 Watts 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply
>Hard Drive: 480GB Intel 540s Series SATAIII 6.0Gb/s SSD 560MB/s Read & 480MB/s Write (Single .Drive)
>Sound: HIGH DEFINITION ONBOARD 7.1 AUDIO
>Internal Network Card: Onboard Gigabit LAN Network
>Mouse: CyberpowerPC Standard 4000 DPI with Weight System Optical Gaming Mouse
>USB: Builtin 2 x USB 2.0 ports

I see one killer here, and that's USB2. And only two ports at that, which means I'd have to run everything through a hub...

>$2500 for an i5 and 1070

I was able to shop around and get an i7 6800k and 1080 for under $1900. Unless the novelty of the aio is worth almost $1k to you, just get a tower. You should be able to fill an ncase m1 with a 6700k and gtx1080 for less than that even after getting a high res ultrawide monitor if you want something almost as sleek and compact.

But an aio with that much shit in it is pretty neat so do you senpai.
>>
>>56195931
that pic related is a retarded and pointless idea. Who ever thought it's a good idea to shove everything inside a monitor? Makes no fucking sense at all. Just a gimmick to impress CS girls.

i plan on building my first pc.
and im very confused about the OS.

Ive heard a lot of stuff about how windows10 is an information mining Botnet, and im convinced,i want to avoid it.

but ive heard it is superior for video games.

im a gaymer myself, but wouldnt care if the performance lost isnt much.

Thus im thinking of installing windows7.

It's the best choice right? for an almost total noob, right?

does it also include some of win10's botnet features? or is it pretty good?

sorry for being such an unexperienced newfaggot

Ever run across a guy that insults himself regularly? Ever want to hang out with him? Never run into him? That's because you are him, grow a spine and ask a question without belittling yourself. That being said 10 is garbage fit gaming.

How come people complain about having to use the keyboard in vim when you can just enable the mouse and act as dumb as you want?

A. GTX 1060 and resign to my fate until it's time to upgrade. G-Sync not an option.

B. RX480 leaving me with the option to pick another one up for around $150 in a year or two. Might consider a 75 hz if there's a good Black Friday deal.

wat do

Just buy a single book for the programming language you want to learn. Most of these books don't seem to be useful at all.
