tech related dreams
>listening to documentary as I was falling asleep
>my family and I are now in a theater
>watching a different documentary about Moses
>I get bore and put my headphones on
>usb-c because it's an HTC 10
>fall asleep in the dream
Wake up in the dream to find my documentary on Neanderthals has ended, but I realize the headphone Jack came out
>in a delirium I plug the usb-c cable back in
>the documentary that my family, and subsequently the whole theateris watching is now about Neanderthals
>oh shit what happened
>look down, the cable I plugged in leads under my seat to one of those tech outlets
>just let the documentary play out because people are just mostly confused
>half the theatre starts leaving disgruntled
>my brothers find out it was my fault
>then my mother finds out and can't stand knowing that I was responsible, or that she knows and that can't gossip about it
>half the people left now know
>as we're leaving in the parking lot Stallman walks up to me after retrieving a packet to give to me
>he's visibly upset
>hands me a bright yellow pocket sized Bible looking hand out
>says read this in an upset voice and storms off
>look down, it reads as follows "HDMI is not a toy"
I opened it and it had schematics for hdmi standards like vcc, data, and ground putouts. I woke up at that point because my brother called for a ride.
>look down, it reads as follows "HDMI is not a toy"
Half the time I try to read something in a dream it is either blurry or makes little sense as it slowly reveals itself
I usually wake up shortly after
I've heard this is a common feature of dreaming - symbols like letters and numbers, or trying to look at the hands of a clock to tell the time doesn't work. I imagine it's because it's a lot of detail for your brain to render

A lot of the time when I read things in my dreams they take up my whole fov while reading them. Like I've paned in to read it line by line.
Hey, I dropped my Galaxy S5 in a pool a few days ago. I tried drying it out but its still not working, so I need to buy a new phone. I'm looking for something comparable or better in performance, as well as preferably something that I can install cyanogenmod or some other custom ROM on. I had a G900a, which has a locked bootloader, making installation impossible. It'd also be great if the price could stay below $450.

Hey /g/, I was wondering:
How would you go about finding or making a rough estimate of the location of a server that's behind cloudflare?
All the tactics that I know to resolve the actual IP don't work. But I don't even want the actual IP, I just want to get a rough estimate of the site's location.
Timing get requests from different servers in different places doesn't work since it only gets a cached version of the site.
Any thoughts?
bump
I assume this is a technical challenge that someone would enjoy
Nmap?..
>>56147611
You can't get the original IP of a cloudflare site unless a non-cloudflare version is available.
That's the whole point of cloudflare, it protects your website from attacks by routing everything through it, if it revealed the server's real IP it would be pointless because you could just attack the IP directly and completely bypass the protection.

Hi Apple.
Rush Limbaugh was forced to change the email address he gives out to listeners on his program yesterday.
The old domain, eibnet.com shows an invalid security certificate that lists several obscure domains.
Is anything here? What happened?
>>56146728
I will give Rush a call and see what's up.

Nikon D 5300 or is there anything else better for the same price or less /g/ ?
>>56146491
It's okay. I got a D5300 and a D3300 on the same day because I suck at eBay, and I ended up giving the D5300 to my little sister.
Strangely, it only has one control wheel.
What's your budget?
>>56148050
My mistake, I confused the D5100 with the D5300. Still, what's your budget and what will you use it for?
Has anyone here ever been to Black Hat? They're offering complimentary academic passes to a handful of full-time students so I'm wondering whether it's worth applying.

How do I fix this? It's driving me fucking crazy
>>56146154
Take it apart and put it back together? It looks like the snaps just came out. Are they broken?
>>56146154
Use your words.
>>56146170
if taking it apart and putting it back together would work, surely simply pushing it down should fix it though?
Ok guys long story short: my laptop was stolen, i know for sure that the thief logged into my mail but he didn't do it with my pc or after formatting it.
I have the ip that connected to my account but it's a fake one.
Is there any way to track the true ip and thus the device location?
I will gladly give a scar to that guy saying 4channed after i stomped his face with my boots if you successfuly help me.
call the fbi
done
an IP won't get you a device's location.

Those of you who program for anything serious, how do you manage your test->prod environments?
I got hired at a company last week, and I am tasked as their devops guy now. The problem is that their current strategy of "upload files and hope PHP/other env stuff doesn't mess up" is pretty inefficient for deployment.
I saw containers as an option like docker, but they seem have a lot of overhead. Is there anything better? What do you use?
I use sftp

So in Linux, if you remove a package some residue configs stay left over. Not saying it's hard to track them down but how does *BSD approach to this?
>>56145084
Sorry the package I am concerned with will not run in the BSD I was looking for
>>56145084
OpenBSD is normally pretty good about this.
It's good at removing orphaned depencies, too.
Sometimes when you uninstall a program it will tell you that you should delete some things.
Has anybody done the CS course on MIT OCW?
I've just finished 6.00's first semester and it's good shit, my only question is, is this actually the best thing I could be doing with my time if I want to learn Python thoroughly?
>>56144202
read a fucking book. Its faster and better
Don't listen to book shills.
Reading is for faggots.
>>56144202
>is this actually the best thing I could be doing with my time if I want to learn Python thoroughly?
Uh, I imagine you don't need to complete an MIT course for that.
OCW is good shit, though.
