If I want to self-teach a programming language what would be the best way to go about it? Reading, YouTube videos or Coding boot camps?

Actual coding.

Do you know any programming in advance?

Third for kill samshit

Tabs on top is best
No graphics card
>graphics cards use too much battery power
Replace hard drive with SSD
>extend battery power, instantaneous startup
Fairly decent (cheap) processor

Ram upgrade
>Rip out the 4 gb and sell it, stick 2x8gb sticks
anything else missing?

Power is no excuse for no graphics card. Laptops have graphics cards that can turn on and off per executable depending on if that executable is very graphics intensive or not. And you can override that with the launch options or by right clicking and pressing "open with integrated graphics"

Bro, what GNU slash Linux distro do I see there? Hang on let me look, bro. Oh okay, bro, okay bro, ubuntu is pretty gnarly but, ya know, I'm more of a freeBSD kind of guy. Anyway, dude, catch ya on the flip side, bro

Don't judge my kinks, man. That isn't nice.
>"It says here that you don't use Gnu/Linux as your main operating system. Care to explain this?"
well?
it also says I don't watch anime and haven't been imprisoned for possession of child pornography.
>>56223184
That's easy to explain. Since I've replaced the GNU coreutils with Busybox, there is actually no line of GNU code left on my system.
So Stallman can go suck my dick, but he's not allowed to modify it or share it with friends.
Pretty sure it says I don't have autism too.
Hello /g
what cryptography software do you use?
Truecrypt ?
mcrypt ?
Veracrypt
Openssl ?
For tar file i useopenssl enc -aes-256-cbc -in bkup.tar.gz -out bkup.tar.gz.aes
Vera. It's not for anything too top secret though. What do you guys use it for?
I personnaly use Truecrypt 7.1a
but some time is usefull tu use openssl
>he doesn't assign sections of the file to a piano key and arrange it so that it plays bach to the unsuspecting, but can be decoded using the recovery file
>laughing qtpies-who-just want-everyone-to-be-happy.bmp
>works only on your phone
>needs a working phone number
>you have to have the other person's phone number in order to chat with them
>requires Google Play Services to run
>has shitty voice quality because no Opus support
Why does /g/ keep recommending this shit when it has so many drawbacks?
Why are we letting Signal force people to give up their privacy and anonymity in order to get "secure texts and calls"?
>>56223053
Who the hell recommended you that shit? You obviously got meme'd. Did you install gentoo too :^)?
>>56223071
KEK
Op kys
Private and anon is not the same. Security is almost synonymous with privacy. Signal is for noobs to secure themselves. If you're leet enough, you can recompile it yourself, otherwise stfu and wake up dead
>>56223053
Doesn't just work on phone, has PC plugin.
Doesn't need a working number, you cam activate on a burner.
If play services is an issue, you can recompile. If you can't recompile then kill yourself for complaining about something you don't understand.
Has shitty voice quality because your chinkshit bastard phone mic and voice is shit
Trying to test you guys to see if I'm vulnerable.
What's is my public IP address /g/? I'll give you access to my ssh server if you find it.
>>56223051
127.0.0.1
>>56223097
No localhost please.
If you're running the Linux botnet virus you're most likely vulnerable.
What is the best way to not be tracked on the internet? Is Ghostery just snake oil? What alternatives are there?
Everything is snake oil
>>56223022
Not get tracked by some random internet people?
Just common sense I guess.
If you mean not get tracked by the en ess ayy then good luck lmao.
>>56223022
you cannot hide if you browse from a personal computer and a personal internet access
any amount of tor/i2p/tails/freenet/ghostery/VM/vpn will never be enough if (((they))) want to find you.
Defend this, samshills.

Wasn't it fixed? It used wrong color space.
I haven't used antiviruses in like... a year and half, may be more.
I noticed my laptop was heating up more than usual, I thought that could be because it's a bit old (it's from 2010) or may be it just has a shit ton of viruses, considering it's been over a year since I had an antivirus... I've even browsed and downloaded from dubious sites after Kickass Torrent was taken down.
>Install antivirus
>HEY YOU COULD FIX 4235 PROBLEMS
>Ok
>TO FIX THAT GET THE PREMIUM VERSION FOR $3.99
>Oh for fuck sake
>Do normal deep analisys
>0 virus found
>ZERO FUCKING VIRUS
>Uninstall
Just run adwcleaner every two weeks or so, antiviruses are mostly useless
>>56222957
I use common sense 2016
>not using Linux
dumbass. hate yourself.
I want to start to follow just 2 or 3 tech websites. What's the biggest/most important or relevant websites on that area?
The Verge? Wired?
I really only get my tech news from here and ars but i would like to see where everyone else goes because:
a) I really have not found any sites on my own that i enjoy reading (I used to go to toms but the layout just feels retarded to me)
b) going to the same two sites gets boring
>>56222955
iVerge have been shit ever since Topolski left, I wouldn't bother with them.
