Arch without the autismal instalation, also rolling release and just works.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOUR FONT RENDERING? ARE YOU USING MOTHERFUCKING XP?!
You got me. I'm going to learn Ruby and stop letting people mansplain me into other languages.
Hey /g/, without using memes, can you tell me where the future of programming is ?
I am trying to decide where it's best to focus for a future career
JavaScript seems to be taking the spotlight at the moment but as tech moves more and more to IoT and native apps , will it still be that relevant in 5 or 10 years ?
Go seems like a really nice language especially for network programming... could that be a good niche to get into?
What do you think /g/

>Hey /g/, without using memes, can you tell me where the future of programming is ?
Neural networks and machine learning is the new "it" right now.
>JavaScript seems to be taking the spotlight at the moment but as tech moves more and more to IoT and native apps , will it still be that relevant in 5 or 10 years ?
It will still be relevant, but a specific language is hardly a "future". Any good programmer is able to learn a new language and/or framework. You shouldn't be focusing on specific programming languages, you should be more broad than that.
>Go seems like a really nice language especially for network programming... could that be a good niche to get into?
I'm a network programmer, and it's fairly fun. I use mostly C or C++ though, Go is still pretty new but worth learning alongside those two.
>>56225840
>I'm a network programmer, and it's fairly fun. I use mostly C or C++ though, Go is still pretty new but worth learning alongside those two.
What was your path? Did you get a CS degree? Is it incredibly complex compared to, say, front-end web dev?
>>56225793
If you want maximum flexibility with minimal effort, go into C#. NET stack. As a multipurpose language, it's being used in pretty much all industries, and Microsoft (and others) keep updating it to be useful for new stuff as it becomes available.
Gaming? Monogame, Unity, UWP.
Cloud? Azure.
Web? ASP. NET, ASP.NET core, even some C#-to-HTML5/JavaScript compilers
Windows Desktop? Console applications, WPF, UWP
Macintosh? Mono,.NET core, Xamarin
Linux? Mono,.NET core
Android? Xamarin
iOS? Xamarin
Windows Phone? UWP
IoT? Windows 10 for IoT, .NET core
VR/AR? Unity targets all current VR platforms, HoloLens, Windows 10 holographic API (demo'd on Google Project Alloy)
Future use? You can bet the will be some kind of C#.NET development for it at some point.
So I just bought a Nexus 6p and upgraded from a Note 4. How badly did I just fuck up, /g/?
Why not wait 1-4 weeks and see how the Nexus looks like?
That said the Nexus 6P is undeniably a good phone.
I upgraded to a 6p 1.5 months ago when my Nexus 5 fried itself.
Took some time getting used to the size, but since you're coming from a Note 4 already that won't be an issue.
Fingerprint-reader on the back is super convenient once you're used to it.
Also make sure to enable the sRGB-mode in the developer-options, the normal color-settings are oversaturated as all hell.
And I switched the DPI-settings on mine, it's amazing how much information can comfortably be shpwn at once.
>>56225804
Is the next Nexus really going to be announced in 1-4 weeks?
Are there any keepass equivalent that stores my passwords on the cloud and have a firefox extention to autofill for selected websites?
Make a KeePass database that requires a password and a 256-bit key file. Upload the database on a Cloud service like Google Drive/Dropbox/OneDrive/YouNameItDrive and use Keepass2Android to open it.
Transfer the key file manually by USB so that it doesn't touch the internet.
Don't trust fucking cloud-based bullshit like LastPass or 1Password.
>>56225785
>Keepass2Android
waht about firefox autofill
So why exactly is it good to trust keepass and not an encrypted text file? Was keepass audited yet?
>isp starts blocking torrent sites
>change device dns settings to opendns
>no more blockage
why dont more people do this?
>>56225680
Nice hidden AMD/ATI drivers installation in linux. You should get b& and your pets neutered behind your back.

GPUs are already fairly parallel, what is stopping a manufacturer in stacking smaller dies to make one powerful GPU? Smaller chips are still following Moore's dick unlike the fatter chips and it would not only be cheaper for them, but to us as well.
>>56225626
The only limitation to 3D stacked logic is heat density and transfer.
We'll be doing multiple small die MCMs for GPUs before we start building 3D stacks.
Connecting the different stacks in a way that wouldn't add latency, I assume it would use a similar data pipeline to what is being done with HBM memory, but that requires a fairly expensive silicon interposer layer.
It might be possible, but it'd be very expensive to manufacture and right now there is no need when we can simply keep shrinking process nodes and refining what we already have working.
>>56225626
>what is stopping a manufacturer in stacking smaller dies to make one powerful GPU?
Memory latency
Yes, we know everything already is from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

Being budget I'd suggest you get a rx 480 8gb instead of the older 960 with 4gb. AMD stuff tends to last longer in the long run. Also drop the i3 for the i5.
>>56225461
I'd recommend getting a CPU that matches the motherboard
>1151 cpu
>1150 mobo
you need a b150 chipset and most likely ddr4 instead of ddr3. also don't get a 960. get a 1060 or an rx480.
