>IBM
What did go wrong?
Why is no one talking about this company?
>>56233622
They stopped pandering to plebs such as yourself
they left the consumer market
Only people who make $150K+ talk about IBM these days.
AS/400 experience is probably the quickest way to fat paychecks. All the people who know how to use it are dying and retiring.
What does /g/ have against Samsung phones and other products?
/g/ is not a person.
/g/ is a community with people who have different opinions.
You should do some research, and form your own opinions instead of asking "/g/"

Why are my local craigslist prices for PC hardware pants on head fucking retarded? Like on what planet does anyone think it's reasonable to ask $275 for a used GTX 760, or $850 for a full system with an i5 4440 and a 750 ti. Is this only endemic in my local area or is this a nationwide thing?
>>56233481
People are stupid, it's pretty standard for kids to post up their old gaymen PCs for only slightly less than what they bought it for on iBuyPower 3+ years ago.
It's a middle class thing, I'm pretty sure.
you are just as dumb for trying to buy used fucking 'gaming' hardware
buy new or dont buy it at all
mutracker is dead

Honest question, expecting an honest answer:
How long does it really take to install Gentoo?
I mean, installation of a fully featured desktop system with one of the major DE's, by someone who has never used it before and needs to look up all relevant info?
Without understating or lying, how long does it really take?Is it worth it?
>>56233280
>How long does it really take to install Gentoo
More than 40 minutes
>Someone who has never used it before and needs to look up all relevant info
>Is it worth it?
Nope, install something else.
>>56233280

Let me introduce you to the excellent program known as fluxbox.
However, if you are a fag that likes GNOME (and mouse interfaces), on an i7 it will take ~35 minutes to compile.
Also note that if you are just gonna keep using the mouse go back to windows.
Tips:
- Compile a custom kernel, genkernel is for literal fags who are to retarded to use menuconfig
-https://github.com/yngwin/etc.portage/blob/master/package.mask/lennartware
- Try to avoid the shitware known as polkit, pam, gnome3, avahi, systemd, pulseaudio (just use plain ALSA), ifplugd, consolekit, dconf, gconf, dbus, udisks, upower, and wayland. Compiling software without these wil let you have 170MB Memory used even with terminals and qutebrowser open.
- Don't use systemd unless you like being a cuck of lennart
- Make sure to not bloat stuff with USE flags

can you tell us why you want to install it ?
if it's for testing or simply curiosity why not install it in a virtual machine ?
>S++ or S=S+1, which can be recommended to increment the value by 1 and why?
>S++, as it is single machine instruction (INC) internally.
>not using ++S
>>56233272
That's a compiler's work.
Just write S = S + 1 in a higher language.
>>56233291
S += 1

Im trying to get comcast to my house. im stuck on att DSL (not even uverse) and im at 6/.2 Mbps. anyway, my property touches 2 roads. one road is my adress road that comcast says is unservicable unless i pay the shared cost to install the lines ($9850). the other road has full comcast service. its about 500 ft from my house which i understand is to far for coax. p2p wireless is not an option because of thick tree cover. so im thinking fiber. my idea is to put a service post with a waterproof box and have comcast run their coax to that, then i can run a fiber link to my house. is there a way to do this without running power to it?
tl;dr best way to run internet connection 500ft from outdoor utility box with comcast coax to house.
If you can run fiber, you can run power. No?
>>56233265
>p2p wireless is not an option because of thick tree cover
Get a pole, put wireless radio on top of pole.
Get 2nd pole, put 2nd wireless radio on top of 2nd pole.
Make sure one pole is at or near your house, make sure the 2nd pole is at or near their service box.
>>56233265
>its about 500 ft from my house which i understand is to far for coax
Not if you get an amp.
Should I switch to Void? I like the logo.

Hey /g/uys,
Need to purchase a router tomorrow for my 3 roommates and myself. I am heading over to my local Best Buy (in south Florida) tomorrow to look around. Does anyone have any suggestions/tips on what to look for? I am pretty clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff but I know the basics. Currently at my house we have a NetGear Nighthawk and it seems to work well, but as college students we are on a ~$100 budget. Please help and thanks :)
TL;DR - Best Router ~$100, Best Buy, Please Help. Four People using router.
Don't search physical store, check the internet first, and if Best Buy has what you want in stock go purchase it there as they'll pricematch anything that isn't on discount.
Fuck best buy, office depot is the only physical store left that doesn't intentionayl fuck you over with cheap chinese garbage in fancy boxes.
They also price match official amazon vendors. Start there.
Also, what makes you think best buy even has one in stock, at a certain price, and how the fuck are we supposed to recommend shit from a physical location if we don't know wehre the fuck you live.
>>56233275
Secondarily, why do you need to upgrade your router? That router can easily handle 4 people, it's better than mine.
