Is it better for VR than the GTX 970? Just wondering since the 970 is still more expensive than the 1060 which claims to "have the power of the 980"
>>56275980
1060 usually performs on par with a 980, which is quite a bit faster than the 970.
Also considering >3.5 vs 6, I'd say a 1060 for vr is a much better card.
Also keep in mind the 10 series cards support a bunch of new gimmicky features from nvidia which might be used in future vr setups, I'm not too keen on vr though, so that might be irrelevant.
All in all there's literally no reason to get a 970 over a 1060, and the only reason it still costs more is the jews.
i hope you dont buy old generation cards brand new

>nvidia
>VR
fuck no just get a 480, nvidia still has motion sickness inducing latency issues
Hey /g/, has anyone purchased the Beelink BT7 mini pc?
I'm considering getting one to be used as a HTPC to play 4K at 30, some web-youtube browsing and to play old pc games-emulators.
Btw, if you know of a better mini or small factor pc at the same or slightly higher price, it would be great.
>>56275969
With that money you can do much better
Can you give me some ideas?
For now this pc is $200 and I really want to start using my 4K tv
>>56276035
>For now this pc is $200
oh nvm then, the prices i was seeing were 380+
Xubuntu fag here, moving back to i3.
I've used i3 in the past but any suggestions on ricing would be great help :^)

What the fuck.
>take random episode of random shot
>its 45 minutes long
>fucking 3.5 GB
>fuck with shit shit in hand brake
>think I changed it from 264 to 265
>its now less than a 1 GB
>I cant tell a difference in quality right off hand
Whats the fucking catch?
Ive tried compressing it in 7z with the highest compression rating of 9 and it only shaved a few mb off.
babbys first experience with a video compression algorithm
>>56275988
Something like that, I have real processing power now and decided to play around.
So whats the fucking catch to this shit?
>>56275907
The catch is 265 is much more CPU intensive.
You won't notice the extra power needed on any cpu from the past 10 years while trying to play 720p, past 5 years for 1080p.
Thing is, if you try running it on a laptop, it might start chugging unless you're running it on a more powerful machine (your moms 3 year old lenovo $300 laptop won't do very well).
And if you try doing 4k, especially at 60 fps, even the latest and greatest CPU's which cost upwards of $1k will start chugging.
Also, unless you're carrying a high end phone from the past 2 years, you won't be able to run it without either chugging like crazy or burning your hands.
Reminder to keep one of these little packs at hand becuase windows fucking sucks
What's that that flat round metallic thing inside the plastic protection case?

How do you browse 4chan on mobile devices?
I've been using Clover forever but I'm looking to see if there's a better alternative.
Clover is great but you can't hide threads.
Images and webms fail to load a lot of the times.
Posting is cumbersome.
I'm just tired of it.
>>56275613
use the website retard

I use my browser
I think I'm falling for the gnome+antergos meme
help
everything is so clean and pretty, there's default software for everything with this distro I don't even have to think
I've been seduced before but always tend to go back to minimal and tiling
resistance is futile
embrace gnome
Can't switch back now
