My PC has something like 5 years now and I'm thinking about upgrading. I have Sandy Bridge i7 2600K and GeForce GTX 570. I'm debating if I should get a new GPU only or CPU as well. Have CPUs significantly improved since Sandy Bridge in performance?
As long as you OC your CPU tou should be fine for some time.
You could wait for early 2017 and get a Zen/Vega build though
Nigger I'm still using an Nehalem i7 and feel no need to upgrade. What are you doing that a 2600k can't satisfy?
To answer your question just use your entire budget on a nicer graphics card instead of splitting your budget between the 2

Thanks. I don't like AMD.
>>56404893
Thanks mate. Should I get something from GTX 1xxx or 9XX?
i don't actually post here much, but i need some ideas

i was thinking about buying an empty laptop shell with screen keyboard etc. simply i wanna put my laptop's hardware to new laptop shell. is such thing exist?
>>56404697
Is only the screen panel broken, or is the housing around it also broken? Basically, if its just the panel you can usually replace it fairly easily.
>>56404742
both panel and housing around broken, keyboard damaged also whole behind covers broken.
got i7 cpu 120gb ssd 1tb hdd 16gb ram
i don't wanna give up on this hardware

>mp3 is gonna die guise
>aac is gonna die lol
>vorbis is over guise
>it's gonna just be flac and opus, guise
>freedom is gonna win, guise.
Opus isn't even being widely deployed except for a few applications.
Why are open source audio codecs such failures at serving the mass market?
Opuss is shit.
>>56404690
Because the industry is a bunch of troglodytes that aren't interested in using better tools or improving their products, keeping with the times or generally anything else that can be considered progressive and smart.
The IT industry is the worst example of how IT should be.
>>56404690
Define "few". Many apps support it fine, even in Android.
>No support in iOS
Stick to your proprietary AAC bullshit. Opus is too good for your non-free platform.
>>56404690
>Why are open source codecs such failures at serving the mass market?
Because autismos only want flac and normies only know mp3
Opus works on my 2013 moto g, blame Apple for being cunts.

If you want something from japan at least buy Fujitsu or Panasonic.
They make some bomb proof laptops.
Is this botnet? Does this thing do anything for virus protection for idiots or does it just report back to Meinkrosoft that I'm being a good consumer drone.
I already have antivirus in case I suddenly become an idiot about browsing but does this thing actually do anything or is it just a bloat meme?
It used to be great, then it started sucking hard, but recently it's been good again

WYSIWYG >>> TeX
Anyone who disagrees has never worked in a document production industry like law or business.
TeX is a cute project for math professors who write one paper per semester. It's not viable for the real world.
What do you mean?
You're talking about markdown? It has its limitations.
Or are you talking about writing in office instead of with a plain text editor?
You could also have an editor which works over tex files but displays the text visually instead of its code.

the point is to troll and get a rise out of us. saying "anyone who disagrees [insert something incendiary here]" is usually a dead giveaway.

Is it true that efficiency of battery motors go less during cold environment?
>>56404041
yes, also electric cars are the worst for the environment than gas.
Batteries give less power and charge slower when cold.
Electric motors don't give a fuck.
>>56405003
Myth.
>>56405061
Tesla's have heated battery packs, BTW. You can pre-heat it before you leave and keep it warm while driving with very little range impact.
