sad thing is it's still too bright for me. (Comes out at around 65 cd/m2)
I often find myself using soft-contrast controls in mpv to go even lower, usually down to about 50% or so.

What went wrong with VR? Seems like all of the buzz died as soon as the consumer models were released and now the only thing people bring up are the rapidly declining sales numbers.

I'd you're a gamer, 1440p is the sweet spot for now as GPUs that can play games at 4k 60fps cost a fortune. Personally, I just got a 1440p 144hz monitor because I prefer frame rate over resolution and 1440p is good enough.

Fuck Fuck FUCK Nvidia. They are forcing me to update my drivers if i ever want to use Shadowplay. I can't upgrade since all the newer drivers are too buggy for my GTX 760 and for some reason Shadowplay works worse and worse with every new release.
Why can't i use the software i want?, Are they forcing me to buy a new card?. Seriously fuck them.

So long story short, I'm pretty sure I bricked my AT&T S4. I tried to install a ROM through Safestrap, and it all went well until the first boot. It won't go past the "Samsung" logo, and it's not being recognized by my computer anymore. I made a backup of my stock ROM through Safestrap, which is on my external SD card. So what can I do to possibly restore it, as I cannot reach the Safestrap recovery? I'm on 4.4.2 NB1, BTW.

Hello /g/
I am a 2nd year college student. I dabble in programming and game every once in a while. I am a mechanical engineering major and will need to run CAD in the near future.
What are some good laptops for my needs? Ive been thinking at least 200gb SSD, 8-16gb Ram, i7 processor, etc. I love the XPS15/m3800 but it seems pricey for what it offers.
Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You really can't understand why someone may want to do this out of interest or for applications where they might want to use a soldered on module instead of a peripheral drive?
Try to build LFS in a VM some time. It is actually pretty fun and you will learn a lot. Gentoo is for a very specific niche of people but is not at all difficult to install, especially if you stick with OpenRC. They are certainly not the same thing

I was thinking about installing Popcorn Time again, but I see there are a lot of fake versions with malware and MPAA honeypots. There are two community editions (popcorntime.ag and popcorntimeCE.ch) and both are claiming the other one is fake.
There is also the "official" .sh version, but I've heard that's a MPAA honeypot.
Anyone knows which one is actually safe?
