Well, it's been 7 years since Win7 RTM release, 15 since XP RTM release.
Why the fuck, in 2016, manufacturers still selling many laptops with dual core CPU? It is so difficult to install CPU quad-core?
$ 900-1000 for a Dual-Core laptop !! What the hell !!!!!
Anyone can Explain me this shit?
(Pic No Related, not only thinkpads have this problem)
Most Intel mobile CPUs, even going up to the i7u series are dual core. They're designed to fit the needs of most people, which is a few processes that need fast execution (read less cores and higher clocks). They also fit into a lower TDP range which is why we get great performance from <35 watt
Because most of the market doesn't need more than that
Internet = Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, Wikipedia and Twitter, for 90% of users

>>56565601
You think dual-core it's enought for PLC Programming , design electrical circuits , office and internet it's enought?

Can anyone give me some advice about these specs for the price of 700e ?I'm not good at these things so some help would be nice.
Get a cheaper CPU, since your motherboard won't allow overclocking.
Also don't get a 750Ti, it's fucking 3 fucking generations behind it's a waste of money.
>>56565370
seems good for that kind of money though I would suggest you save up a bit more and get some more ram, 8gigs is nothing today, and 2 gigs of vram aren't that good either
>>56565370
Change GPU to AMD (future proofing + async compute + open source dev softwares)
Change to skylake build preferably i5-6500
change RAM to 8GB 2400 but at the same price point as that (you can find it on Amazon)
Change your case preferably not Cooler Master (overhyped, and overpriced)

There are so many layers of badness and shitty looks applied one unto another in that picture that I don’t know where to start.
And I’m not even talking about usability.
hi grandpa
http://arstechnica.com/apple/2016/09/an-os-9-odyssey-why-do-some-mac-users-still-rely-on-16-year-old-software/
>It's definitely flawed, but these problems happen to also make it super fast and responsive. Even my 700 MHz iBook G3 flies when I boot it into OS 9 (as does my 300 MHz PowerBook G3 on OS 8.6). OS 9 feels noticeably snappier on a G4 machine than El Capitan does on a new Core i7 Mac with SSD storage. Audio people love this. They claim that the latency on their virtual instruments and recording and monitoring gear in OS 9 is miles better than anything else.
>Swap back and forth repeatedly between the latest version of OS X and a Power Mac running OS 9, and you see what they're getting at. Even the simplest tasks suddenly feel weighed down on OS X. In OS 9, you open a new Finder window and it appears instantaneously—with a subtle, almost-subliminal wireframe animation from the point of origin to its screen position. Do the same thing in El Capitan, and you have time to quickly glance away and back again before the window pops into existence.

>you shouldn't be using old versions even if you work perfectly with them
I hate that meme. Let these users enjoy the last good version of Mac OS.
On the other hand, if you install a lightweight, stable version of GNU/Linux, like Debian stable, paired with a "classical" DE like MATE can get you a similar experience today on any computer.
>>56565804
>his os doesn't use cooperative multitasking
also the point isn't really in the DE
>>56565030
guess what: os x is much more complex; and even os x itself was faster before
it'd be more fair to compare mac os 9 with os x 10.9
If all my pc parts are white(including the case), will my pc run cooler?
