Hello /g/. Simple question,

What is the most stable Linux distribution. I just need something that will work.

Most stable for what? A server? I'd say Debian or CentOS.

No not a server. For a developer OS. I don't want to spend hours setting shit up. I want everything to just work.

You're already using 50% RAM which is a lot. For someone who multitasks often 4GB of RAM on a phone would be the bare minimum.

So i've got firefox, installed a whole bunch of privacy addons on it.
And it's absolute dogshit
Barely runs flash, slow as hell, freezes every 5 minutes, private mode is buggy as fuck

I've also started using a VPN and it costed me some performance.

I don't know if i should bother with privacy anymore if it costs me so much performance

please convince me to keep my privacy /g/
also recommend me a non-shit browser

you dont need "privacy" 24/7

just get adblock, disconnect, https everywhere and thats it.

use vpn for torrents or shady sites

I never understood these "Firefox pissed in my cereal, killed my dog and raped my mom threads". I've installed it on every computer I've owned since around 2008 except my home server. On Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 as well as elementaryOS and Fedora. I genuinely can't remember the last time it crashed, I think around 2014? Not sure. Absolutely zero slowdowns, even with +30 tabs open. If there ever was a "just werks" program for me, it's this.

Hi, so I really like Linux, I am currently dual booting it with Win10 (games + Visual Studio). And yes, games. I really like to play video games, especially League of Legends for now (inb4 go stick the mop up your arse stupid "computer is for serious activities" fags), and I want to run it on my Linux. But nuffin works. I tried wine + PlayOnLinux, it installs (with many wine errors), but it cannot launch.

Have you found a way to install LoL on Linux, and if so, will you share how to do it?

You could just google why you are getting wine errors.

They way you type makes me feel you are 15, possibly with excess estrogen levels.
>>
>>56569497
google league of legends "linux" or something like that, i'm sure others have got it working before you.

Welcome to /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Users of all levels are welcome to ask questions about GNU/Linux and share their experiences.

*** Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread. ***

Before asking for help, please check our list of resources[*].

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

That's pretty interesting because I've been using Linux for the better part of five years.

Here's a challenge for you: install a working system-wide equalizer. Hard mode: do it without PA.

I probably will buy the new HD8. Hopefully the first run is sold out and any discovered complaints are fixed fast, if possible.

But judging on past releases, I'll wait for Cyber Monday as their newly released tablets do go on sale.
>>
>>56568734
Any rumors of any other Amazon tablets being updated? They'll probably announce something after HD 8's release, if anything.
>>
I need a cheap ass <$150 tablet so I can read textbooks on and that's pretty much it. Should I buy used?

I understand that these are really overpriced as it is and it isn't sensible to buy one for general use... but if I did get a base model, how many years can I expect to get out of it for basic shitposting and occasional photo work?

>>
>>56568707
Probably 5+ years. You can't expect much more than that as apple might drop support for it for whatever reason.
>>
Why not just get an iMac for photo, especially since the high-res screen will help that.

Way cheaper, too.
>>
why did they ditch the good old mac pro design anyway? that trashcan looks awful
