has anyone noticed ublock origin slipping?

some sites showing "hey! you're using a ablocker! I totally understand but.." bullshit and similar?

I'm thinking of doing some research to make it block those too.

why do you even bother posting?
>>

You want to enable Reek's Anti-Adblock Killer - that's both a blocklist (for your adblocker, i.e. uBlock Origin) AND a userscript which you'll need GreaseMonkey or TamperMonkey to use.

That's generally pretty damn effective.

Please guys, how do I create a config file in Ubuntu? I'm trying to install compton because Ubuntu is causing screen tearing. And I have to create a config file with pic related. I don't even know where the "~/." directory is.
I'm trying to learn but Linux is fuil of bugs.

>>
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Wikilearn/TildeSlash

It's really just "~/" with "." being part of the filename.
>>
>>56571020
~/ refers to your home directory (i.e. /home/yourname)

".compton.conf" is what the file should be called

Just paste the code into a text editor and save with the file name and ending in the right place

Not sure if that will solve your problem of screen tearing though - that is usually down to bad or badly configured graphics drivers. For intel you sometimes have to change the type of acceleration, good luck if you have nvidia or AMD.

Thank you guys for responding.
Will creating this file set up compton as my compositor?

How are these chips holding up for people? I had one I got from a friend burn out a year ago, and I've been afraid to replace it because I'm worried it'll burn out in a couple of months since you can only get them used. Since then I've been using an old Phenom II X2 and it's pretty shit for anything gaming, but just internet browsing or watching 1080p MKV is fine.

Should I swing ~$70 for a replacement while waiting to get the big bucks to get a 6600k?

I use mine for the occasional game and it works just fine .

70 dollars will get you a skylake pentium (14nm, dual core, 3.3ghz)
>>
>>56571072

Yeah, it had pretty good performance, especially since I haven't upgraded from my R9 270 which doesn't go past 40fps in GTA anyway on high settings.

I just want to know if they're still working or if a lot of people have had them die like mine did, since my friend would play GTA V with it on the stock heatsink.

>>56571096
Yeah, but I'd also have to get a new MOBO and new RAM as well, additional expenses to consider. I'm actually fine with a cheapo non-OC MOBO and 8 GB of ram (for now), but even at those prices it's another $90 on top if I'm not going with something in the AM3 format.
That's AM3 not AM3+, otherwise I'd just get an FX-8350 for the next 1-3 years.

Privacy and anonymity are dead folks. Everything you do online (with the possible exception of Tor if the nodes have not been compromised) can be tracked to you.

Not only does your browser give you away but the profile of your browsing HABITS also give you away. If you visit the same 10-12 sites on a daily basis, there is enough statistical power to identify you as the person behind the browser.

Daily reminder that the next step will be death of the individual (spiritual death) as your content is filtered based on your browsing profile.

The ONLY way to fight back is by actively using disinformation to confuse their machine learning algos and/or to drop out of the digital bubble altogether.

`lost in the noise with fake searches and site requests' doesn't really work
stop using the pleebnet is your only option
not like anything of value is here anymore anyway
we're waiting for gnunet to stabilize and become usable
this will truly be what saves us

Why does my browser need to announce which fonts it can use to websites? Preventing that alone will help alleviate fingerprinting.
>>
>>56570981
I do that anon but I spend my other time watching my friends and family fall victim to this crap. Their personalities and belief systems are actually being warped by content filtering and it's scary as fuck. I don't want to live in a world like that and I think there are still ways to fight it.

How modified is the Android version?
Those often come with bloated or buggy OS.
Another thing you can expect from cheap, uncommon but high-spec smartphones is buggy or bad hardware, like cellular connection, GPS, Wi-Fi, compass/magnet and gyro/movement sensors.
Sometimes they're only really tested in China or so and work differently or badly in US or Europe.
Just check whether there are complains like that from users in your area.
