who is the best smart watch? is it Apple even though they went for square? is samsung any good?
im really like watches but never owned one with a display b5, so i wonderered what you guys recommend for smart watches? even you think thay are all bad, if you HAD TO CHOOSE which one would you get (you have to wear it at least once to a public event and you cannot sell it adterwards)

>Charging a watch every few days
No
>>56578103
I already chose for a Pebble Time. The 4.0 update is kinda bad for me since it removes some functionality, but I very much enjoy my smartwatch, 5 days of battery life makes the charging bare able.

Eh, the other thread is almost dead, whatever.
9/10. You have two nice workspaces, a great table, and everything is organized. The mood lighting is nice, but I would like to see some artwork that really shows "you" off.
My battlestation runs into the same problem, but it shares the room with my "theater," and that has plenty of decoration, so it balances out.

Fan boy opinions aside. I'm currently having discussion on iPhone vs galaxy s products and need some help since I'm not as technically inclined with phones as I'm sure most of you are. Which phone do you think is better and why?
>>56577721
Nexus because no shitty UI
>>56577721
Neither is better
Both have their pros and cons
Samsung is more advanced, customizable, and has the latest tech
iPhone is simple and easy to use
From my experience neither is more reliable, I work at a phone store and both have problems.
I'm still getting iPhone 6 and 6+ with the bending issue, and screen issues.
Samsung has battery issues and viruses, but only old men who come in after watching porn bring in phones full of viruses.
Again, neither is better and both are a good choice

>Nexus because no shitty UI
I liked my nexus 5 but it had problems as well. The camera was serviceable but seriously lacking. My iPhone 4s took better pictures than my nexus 5. The battery died quickly and from what I hear this hasn't been fixed in the newer nexus phones.
Yes the UI is beautiful, clean stock android is always, in my opinion, the best experience, and this almost makes the so-so battery life and ok camera worth it
If the rumors are true, the next phones in the nexus lines will address these complaints, but it will be at a higher cost.
Also I honestly don't see why Nexus phones can't have an SD Card slot. Samsung fucked this up last generation too, but luckily in the Galaxy s7 and Note 7 they now include SD Card slots

Before Cryptocat used to have chatrooms.
This feature has now been removed including the ability to connect from browser itself.
Is there any new software that can run on server and users can access through web; chat will be encrypted, avatar feature, can share files and also add friends from the chatroom.
Something like cryptocat or e-chat.co

Any advice on decent router for around 30$?
>>56577536
T H I C Q
anyway my advice is to save up more money, unless you have another computer and a switch already, and just need an access point. If not all you can do is go to a thrift store and pick up a WRT54 for ten bucks or something
Buy a raspberry pi and turn it into a router.

Is playing games or using other resource heavy applications on Linux/GNU viable or is the "near native performance" statement just a meme?
>>56577442
>CPU
You won't notice the difference
>Storage
Set up dedicated partitions or devices
>GPU
I seriously hope you have IOMMU-capable system with a dedicated gpu
>>56577442
It depends more on the virtual machine software and hypverisor you're using, than Linux. Virtualbox is fine for 99% of use cases, but if you want near-native performance and want insolated VM's then consider Xen and KVM+Qemu.
>>56577442
I've noticed that running raw CPU benchmarks between Windows & Linux, Linux constantly beat Windows.
However, due to crappy drivers, you'll probably get worst performance on Linux for gaming.
whats the best gold+ psu between 450-600 watts with a great price tag
Define "great price tag", because a GOOD gold PSU is gonna be in the low hundreds
>>56577317
i dont need a monster watt number. the build im putting together runs just above 200
like the one in the op post. 54 bucks is a steal for. im looking for something like that but maybe a bit high wattage
just get the 550w version for 70?
With the current situation of the internet, will usenet make some manner of a comeback?
>With the current situation of the internet
Please elaborate.
>>56577313
Mainly any potential fallout from the transfer of ICANN, but also the push for deanonymity, commercialization, datamining, and stuff like that.
>>56577385
Then yeah, definitely. Don't expect any great majority of internet users to follow, though.
>autistic enough to install arch and get i3 configured to my liking
>don't have the time though
tfw
>>56577270
I'm curious why you wouldn't install an i3 respin of a just works distro and then customize from one thing at a time. That way you get i3 and just tweak from there by changing configs and adding packages. There is a Fedora respin and I think a Debian one.
It takes like 30 minutes to configure it unless you have a bunch of autistic shit you want to do, you should be able to find time
You want my dotfiles? I have a quick installer script with them
