I'm going to assume that you're being ironic, little fella.
Is the Nokia n950 the best phone on the market right now if you don't consider the price?

I get it that you like physical keyboards and sliders. That doesn't make this three year old phone a viable alternative in 2016 though.
Fuck off Sam.

Is there a crash course for Mac OS technical support ? I need to apply for an IT position which requires excellent knowledge of Mac OS. Is there anything that I should know and I can't google ?
You just need to know how to suck dick.

This
>>56580603
>>56580614
No honestly, this is a legit position. I'd be acting as the tech support guy responsible for over 100 PC-s including some Macs.
whats the best modern linux os for programming in c/c++/c#/java. is there a special linux os/distro for programming/developing programs ?
>>56580546
Overall the best compute and compile times will come from running a Gentoo system. You may also benefit from the increased modular efficiency of an Arch system
>>56580546
If you have to ask, get ubuntu.
>>56580546
Ubuntu or Fedora IMHO. I use Fedora personally for Java development using the Oracle JDK and IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate
What's that facial reenactment software that lets me be an anime girl.
No not the Stanford one, the other one.

So I rent a small VPS on which I host my openVPN server, and I received an email from the VPS provider saying that turner network reported download abuse of one of their programs to them. If i don't respond in 24 hours, they will cut off the service - is that it? should i reply or let the vps die and find another one?

I find tablets completely fucking useless but i got a Galaxy Tab 4 for free so what the hell, might as well take it.
The problem is that i can't seem to find a use for it what with having a Galaxy S6 Edge and a proper PC.
Best use I've found so far was using it as a Pip-Boy for Fallout 4 and it was still pretty shit.
Any ideas?

It's nice browsing in portrait on the couch.
I'm formatting my pc, and I would like to install and try Ubuntu along with Windows 8.1, the OS that I had before.
Question: could my files be shared between the two? I have a lot of stuff on my external drives, and I would need to copy most of those on the internal one. I don't need to have two copies, right?
>>56580223
>Question: could my files be shared between the two?
Yes, file sharing is very easy actually.
>>56580223
yes

cool numbers, i bet the normies who don't use their phones to the fullest potential will be using this phone to make quantum computations, making 3d models, using autocad on it, complex video editing, etc.

someone explain pls
I'm thinking about dropping all of my streaming services and becoming a digital hoarder. Is it worth it?
What's the best way? I'm thinking I'll buy a raspberry pi and set it up as a server, with a drive that I would mount on my phone with all my music or whatever file I wold want to access remotely.
>>56580197
Not really worth it. At least for stuff like movies and games, and I say this as someone with awful internet where it takes an entire day to download a movie.
I hoard stuff that is sort of "rare". Like specific porn and hard to find music and stuff. But for most stuff you can just redownload.
Granted dropping streaming services is a good thing, but you don't need to become a hoarder to do so.
>>56580197
I lost 3TB disk with lot of hoarded stuff over years. damn
I hoard mainly porn. Already recovered and have over 600gb (no HD stuff to just waste space)
streaming porn is shit, you cannot seek fast enough
>>56580282
>you cannot seek fast enough
True, but you can usually hover over the progress bar to see a thumbnail

Are you restricting yourself to FOSS?
Be honest.
fuck foss
also you don't have to be a linux user to restrict yourself to foss

/g/s thoughts on smartwatches? are there any that have no drawbacks? seems to me that if they're good, they look like shit and if they don't look like shit they have some kind of software limitation.
Pic related, looks alright if a bit huge, but uses tizen rather than android apps.
If you went to war would you take this watch with you? If no, then it's a watch for fags.
I want to get one but I'm a bit skeptical, I dunno if they're worth the cost at this point. It's nice to have a regular watch that just werks and can take a beating but I want a smartwatch so I can check my fitness apps and notifications and music and things like that on.
>>56580075
Peble is the best combination of looks and performance.
Everything else has shit battery or is useless.
I've never built a desktop but how much am I looking to spend for an editing build? I wont be editing any RED video or anything like that, mostly DSLR and GoPro footage for now, maybe I'll upgrade to a raw camera in the future but not at the moment. I will also be using it for CAD/Lightroom/Illustrator etc.
Your budget defines the build, not the other way around
Expect to drop at least $800 if you don't have anything on hand, like monitors and shit.
>>56580004
what >>56580030
but expect to spend $200+ on peripherals if you're not getting a shitty mouse and keyboard combo.
>>56580004
Most import part for video editing is the CPU. The rest isn't all that important.
-Get the best CPU you can afford (latest i7)
-Get a decent mobo (nothing fancy and don't look at gamer mobo's)
-Get 8GB RAM at the highest speed your mobo allows (no need for 16GB)
-Get a decent PSU (500-600W should be enough)
-Get a decent sized SSD, 512GB minimum.
A dedicated GPU is not really necessary, the integrated iGPU should be good enough.
Good morning, Gee. I has this laptop, Sony Vaio with a Second Generation i3. It's still brand new, but starting to get on my nerves sometimes with W10. Can I change its processor or it is soldered to the board? Do you think it would be a good ideai to upgrade it? Change the processor for an i7 if I can and put a SSD? How to know if I can change processor and if I have a SATA I or SATA II port? Would it be a waste of Money to put a SSD on a SATA II port?
Yes.
>>56579945
Yes what?
