HOW CAN I <?php echo ?> IN RUBIES ON THE RAILS???
>>56606830
This is so accurate that I don't even know if it's satire.
what is a good background audio recorder?
for example: I have OBS and can record audio from any media playing on my PC but OBS only outputs those recordings in video formats.
I want something that can record any source of audio im playing on my PC and record it as an audio file like .WAV, MIDI, or MP3 or whatever.
I thought about using a free-ware video to audio converter for the recordings from OBS but thats just extra work, time, and perhaps quality loss of the recordings.
>an audio file like .WAV, MIDI
>.MIDI
enjoy fucko
>>56606516
thanks for reading
use ffmpeg output in obs, or just use ffmpeg
Which laptop is the best to install Linux on? It seems like every time I install Linux, there's always something that just doesn't work right.
>le novo thinkpad

>It seems like every time I install Linux, there's always something that just doesn't work right
That's part of the GNU/Linux experience
>>56606476
Sounds like pebkac
Does Ubuntu Gnome contain the same spyware and dash search logs as Ubuntu Unity?
How feasible is Kali Linux for a beginner?
no.
>>56606419
no
don't use kali linux as a desktop os
>>56606419
>Does Ubuntu Gnome contain the same spyware and dash search logs as Ubuntu Unity?
Not any more
>How feasible is Kali Linux for a beginner?
Kali is not for using as a daily OS. It's used for live ISO or under VMs.
Anyone use Samba regularly? Having problems with my Samba share on Ubuntu 16.04 not working through a workgroup to my Windows 7 PC. It shows it in Windows 7 but then says its not accessible. Any ideas?
permissions or something
>>56606442
then how would I allow samba to access these folders
>>56606394
had a similar problem.
its why i gave up and re-installed windows7 as my file server.
>install mint
>doesn't come with samba
>install samba
>connect NTFS 500GB external drive
>have to configure it
>go to computer
>watch movie
>movie stalls 3/4ths of the way
>2gb filesize limit
google it
1st page comes up with no real solutions.
give up.
re-install windows7.
Any one else lining up?
>>56606388
Yeah, my roomate is in the bathroom and I'm lining up to get in after he's done. Gotta drop a huge shit.
Why is this still a thing?
>>56606531
Atleast some of them get paid for doing it
Are they any good?
>>56606298
Idk
>>56606298
Yeah they're decent. Not amazing but they're faster than chip and PIN and card contactless
>>56606298
I actually use android pay. All of my cards are not contactless as it's just straight stupidity here in europe (people actually going with scannners to pay for their shit).
Android pay worked flawlessly so far. Unlock, pay, forget.
How do you feel about the latest Amazon meme tech
Will 360 speakers still hold up at a low price range
>>56606203
>Point the speaker down
>It's 360 degrees
>>56606231
well it fucking works to jokes on you nerd!
But it would sound like it's coming from one source.. Wouldn't it
I can see it useful at some roundtable event with friends over but other than that idk I'm not convinced
C > Go > Rust > D > Assembly > JavaScript > Perl > Python > Ruby > C++ > Bash > PHP > Java > C# > .NET
I'm pretty sure no one here would disagree.
>>56606131
I would put bash a little higher than that.
Javascript is too high.
"Assembly" isn't a language.
.NET isn't a language.
Otherwise it's pretty on point.
>25 keywords
A retarded language for retards.
>C# > .NET
.NET is not a language, but a combination of a runtime environment (the Common Language Runtime) and a class library (the Framework Class Library). It is consequently the runtime environment targeted by C# and the standard library available to C#.
>Go > Rust
Go is like a jam and cheese sandwich. Its individual elements may be okay, but together, they are terrible. You would not mix jam or jelly with cheese, and you would not put a garbage collector inside of a systems language. Go is garbage.
How are phone companies so autistic that none of them up til now ever thought of such a simple mechanism to have a metal phone with a removable battery? There is literally no excuse now.

So they can scam you out of shekels, that's the main reason

Do any other CS graduates ask themselves "wtf did I do the last few years"?
I have good logic programming skills. I can write little scripts that parse CSV files and perform some simple business logic, query a database, etc.
But I have no knowledge of anything outside of these simple tasks. About 90% of the options in the "New Project" in Eclipse are foreign to me. I tried to figure out what an Ant build is, and I have no idea.
What the fuck did I even learn?
I feel ya. I guess you've learned more logic skills than anything else to be an adaptable worker. More than likely, you aren't going to be using half the shit you learned since that's probably too complex for softwaredev, and you'll learn a lot of what you need to know while on the job. You just needed to develop your learning skills and have some core components at your disposal. The meme of the degree is truly making everything seem harder than it actually is in the modern world of programming and CS.
>>56606054
Get CompTia, Cisco, or Oracle certifications if you feel like you didn't learn shit
>>56606054
>Do any other CS graduates ask themselves "wtf did I do the last few years"?
No. I felt that I have learned a lot of shit that I wouldn't have learned otherwise.
Which phone is best for recording video at least audio
>>56606051
Literally any flagship smartphone made in the last 3 years.
>>56606133
What does that mean?
>>56606279
Literally any flagship smartphone made in the last 3 years.
To what extent is audiophile shit objectively correct? I know for things like picture quality, there are objective measurements -- pixel count, video resolution, etc -- but is there any such measurement for audio quality?
Something like, I don't know, how specific you can get? I know pitch is determined by the frequency of the sound, but is there anything to the effect of refresh rate?
At what point does it stop really mattering?
>>56606037
depends on your audio setup. for most headphones, past 24bit 48khz with a good dac is overkill, but there are very high end headphones that can reproduce the sound making it useful.
make no mistake however, an audio setup after around ~$5000 hits a point of diminishing returns.
>>56606074
Okay. I got a pair of $50 Bluetooth headphones and they were... decent. I could hear issues with them to a degree but I could still enjoy music/movies/etc.
If I go on Amazon or whatever, the price caps out at like $400.
I guess I'm asking if there's some kind of objective measurement I can refer to to determine the quality of the sound, as opposed to trawling through hundreds of subjective reviews on some seller's website.
I ask about an analogy to refresh rate because, well, how often the frequency changes would be the other dimension to this, right? What the range is vs how many times the frequency can change (and therefore how specific the sound file can be)
>>56606109
You can always look at the frequency response. Pic related is a graph of frequency response of different headphones.
This is only a measure of the speaker's flat delivery of the sound (or lack therof)

CDN's make it so fast! We don't even have to host half of or JS, we just reference it in from an external server!!! Who needs to understand how to write JS, there are plenty of websites that already provide what we need for free!

My employer.
Pretty much everything in Industry uses XP still

Same here.
Shit freezes every hour. Glad that we are "transitioning over to RHEL over the course of the first three months of the next fiscal year".
Linux master race FTW.
