Are there any couple hundred dollar headphones that actually feel like they didn't cost $20 to manufacture? I can understand metal is heavy and using plastic makes it lighter on your head. But looking at some of these headphones I see being recommended around just look like they're cheap as fuck. All those hundreds of dollars just go into the actual earpieces themselves or what? Where is all his money actually going?

I'm part of a research group and our boss wants us to do some fancy mapmaking. His dream scenario would see us working on interactive maps of specific cities not unlike what we see on Google Maps, except we would get to add our own points of interest (mainly historical buildings). The interactive part is that whenever a user highlights such a point, he'd get access to the buildings' info. Not just some summary either, we're talking pages of text, images, maybe videos.

Long term, this map would be hosted on our groups website and available for public use. So bonus points if the software allows for easy online integration.

I did some research but couldn't find anything that would fit the bill perfectly. I'm asking if anyone knows if such a software or something close already exists. Thanks for the help.

maybe look into arcgis, it might have the functionality you're looking for, or it could probably be added. Do you have access to any sort of geographic data already?

We're still in the early stages and trying to figure out if any of this is possible. Right now we're focusing on acquiring the historical data, the tech/map stuff is the next step.

Looking into ArcGIS, seems promising.

I'm getting more and more interested by deep learning and ai in general.

I want to build neural networks with C (because that's what i'm learning right now).

Where should i start ? I didn't find anything on the wiki and not much on the internet apart for tensorflow and stuff.

I'm looking for a point to start with no knowledge, like a tutorial, a library with good documentations or a book.

also are you into it anon ? What did use did you make of your neural network ? what are the fun project you achieve with deep learning ?

Look for any tutorial on the internet, the "hard" part is the mathematics, not the programming. It should be easy to adapt a java tutorial to C.

Once I developed a set of neural networks that would be able to elaborate and connect complex ideas. Didn't work very well.
