My lumia 920 fell on the ground one time too many and it seems like I have to buy a new phone. I was getting tired of windows so I'm thinking about switching to something else. I never liked android and iOS doesn't appeal to me, read I don't have money to spend on overrated shit.
Can you guys recommend me something in price range 200-300$?

You are kind of stuck with Android or iOS. For that price, a Nexus 5X is the best. It is a great phone anyway, it just happens to be cheap too.

What about Tizen?

Let's talk about blocking ads, especially pertaining to low end machines.
What's the bare minimum user filters that you need in the extension, because they usually have tons of filters to select from.
Can you do some of the blocking via the hosts file, and would that be more lightweight?

Does the ``X'' stand for extreme?

If there's a car in your yard that has automatic, so-called 'smart' keys, you should consider keeping the keys in the fridge. That's the message from Finnish police, who say that high-tech criminals could hack cars with such systems.

"It sounds strange, but it makes sense," said Jari Tiiainen of the National Bureau of Investigation.

These so-called smart keys work by emitting a signal when the driver touches the door handle. The lock opens when it recognises the key's signal. Criminals have technology that can strengthen that signal even from a hundred metres away—well inside the residential property where most owners keep their keys, according to Eero Heino of the If insurance company.

Fridges block that signal, hence the advice from police.

"We haven't recommended fridges, but foil will do the same job," said Heino.

Interesting, but kinda old. People do this in the US too. Not put keys in fridges, but use antennas to grab these signals while hiding out in parking garages.

Speccy or HWinfo64? whuch is the best hardware info/monitoring software on windows?
9 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>56611348
HWiNFO64. Why are you even mentioning speccy? It's not even a hardware monitor. It's just a very shitty HW info tool.
>>
>>56611348
Certainly not Openhardwaremonitor.

It picks up three things as over 100C in my computer, and I know it's bollocks because if I open OHWM as soon as my computer boots it's already at 120C but then the temps start dropping.

Nothing that's able to get from about 30 ambient to 120 in a minute is going to shed a few degrees.

Consider a scenario where one of the following OSes become non-existent overnight. Which two would pose the lowest impact?

The answer is of course OSX and I'm a macfaggot
>>
>>56611279
OSX.
Windows has much bigger install base, Android is literally everywhere, OpenBSD and GNU/Linux are used for infrastructure.

This is not even a question with a subjective answer, it's 100% objective.

http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/295933-fbi-director-cover-up-your-webcam

>The head of the FBI on Wednesday defended putting a piece of tape over his personal laptop's webcam, claiming the security step was a common sense one that most should take.

>“There’s some sensible things you should be doing, and that’s one of them,” Director James Comey said during a conference at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

>“You go into any government office and we all have the little camera things that sit on top of the screen,” he added. “They all have a little lid that closes down on them.
>“You do that so that people who don’t have authority don’t look at you. I think that’s a good thing.”

"You're being too paranoid" idiots absolutely, unequivocally, irredeemably blown the FUCK out.

What are your Firefox addons for regular browsing?

I'm currently using
>uBlock
works when I'm lazy
>uMatrix
works even better when I'm not lazy
>HTTPS Everywhere
Bloated piece of shit but works I guess but sometimes has to be disabled per site
>Self-destructing cookies
I love this addon
>BetterPrivacy
Considering I have flash disabled I should get rid of this soon
>NoScript
Currently disabled but blocking scripts because I'm in a lazy mood and browsing the usual whitelisted sites

>Greasemonkey

>RES

>Tab Mix Plus

uMatrix
Bluhell Firewall
HTTPS By Default
Pure URL
Self-Destructing Cookies
Cookie Controller
RequestPolicy

RequestPolicy can be a major pain in the ass so I can only really recommend it to other autistics. There are probably some superfluous or overlapping addons I could get rid of but I need things like Cookie Controller because 4chin shits the bed if you disable DOM manually.

>Bluhell Firewall
Seems really interesting but as long as uBlock/uMatrix work I don't see a reason to use it. Maybe if uBlock goes to shit.
>HTTPS By Default
Is it as good as HTTPS Everywhere? Because HE is really bloated
>RequestPolicy
Is this necessary with uMatrix and NoScripts? I mean I wouldn't use it again but I did few years ago
