Sorry, OP here. I've been living in a cave the past week. What's the deal with Samsung catching fire, what was at fault?
Poor lithium ion cell design. 30+ incidents of Note 7 phones going explodey. No other samsung phone is affected. Voluntary but highly recommended recall in effect. Samsung are going to gimp the faulty handsets with OTA updates that limit their total battery charge to speed up the process. Replacements already being issued to customers.
I work at a major distributor that buys 10s of millions $ worth of samshits a year and this recall is a massive pain in our behinds.

Samsung fucked up in a big way and now they have no other choice but recalling all devices. They are shitting their pants as every incident will fuck up their shaky image.
And yes, it's very real, otherwise Samsung wouldn't have acted that quickly. They know exactly just how terrifyingly bad they messed this one up.
Now wait for the samshit defense force qho will say that exploding phones dont even matter but lack of 3.5mm jack is one of the greatest sin because apple
What's a mid or large sized case for gayming? I've got an S340, but the ventilation is pretty poor, and seeing as I live in the tropics where it averages 35C for most of the year, shit just gets too hot. So now I'm looking to get something with better ventilation.
What's been your experience, and what would you suggest?
>mid/large sized case (pref large)
>has dust filters
>good cable management
>variety of options for fan placement
>>56679146
Are you going to play video games with your case?
>>56679166
Yeah, mostly just farmville...
>>56679146
ive got the H440 and its the same situation with the heat
idle's at about 30-40 with 18 ambient room temperature
cable management is neat but lack of fan control sucks because the stock fans in the front are not super quiet and i cant justify spending a hundred bucks on meme noctua fans
i mean it's pretty comfy for java and not like a certain pay to use ide
>>56679119
literally a IDE for the most autistic of languages
no surprise that an IDE specially designed for the cuck of the programming languages turns out to be a cuck itself

I have made a fresh install of Firefox.
Can we take the oportunity for a Firefox extensions thread.
>>56679104
Tiling tabs can be really useful, although I don't like necessarily how I can't just keep one dedicated tab open and then switch between all my other tabs in that one tab.
I think there's a way to set it, but I can't figure it out.
now install chrome

Is 320 bucks a good deal for a 980 ti omega edition from zotac? Or is it better to get a 1070 at this point?
>>56679079
It's it's cheaper than a 1070, get it.
>>56679079
>>56679106
Alternatively, if the 390x or Fury/furyX is cheaper those are good options too.
>>56679106
Yeah a 1070 costs at least 400-450 right now for the lesser known manufacturers
Do you like living in the future /g/ ?
>>56678967
Not really. The future is full of fag and hipsters and they think that mobile devices are good for any real work.
>three separate devices
Shitty future imo.
As opposed to someone with a portable CD player with earbuds, some airport-thriller genreshit and some equally useless 720p flimsy laptop
I thought blue bubble superiority was a meme?!
Green as a color is better than blue.
Pretty sure these people are just joking
But it still irks me that it's even a thing for apple to make the texts different colors based on OS. Is it just them being petty or does it have a point?
Blue light was confirmed cancer inducing therefor apple fags = cancerous waste?
If i have water inside my machine exist a risk of damage the components if the system broke or something?
>>56678790
What?
If I have electricity inside my machine exist a risk of burning house mine down or something?
>>56678790
if your PC was turned off dry off the parts
Why do you continue to support companies who artificially cripple their products?

I like brother laser printers.
Fuck HP, Fuck inkjet bullshit.
>>56678730
I bought a Canon printer.
When it thinks the cartridge is empty it just goes "hold a button to ignore ink level and continue printing".
Then I drill a hole in the cartridge and refill it.
So I had some spare money that I was going to use to get another X301, recently backed pic related on kick-starter instead.
Just wanted to ask why these things died out originally? I mean, there hasn't really been anything like this since the Motorola Atriix. The idea makes sense with how powerful phones are these days, why not a resurgence?
>inb4 2gb laptop
>inb4 lagdroid laptop
>>56678713
What is pic related though? Why do I have to go through the effort of finding out what you are referencing just to reply to your shit thread.
>>56678911
My feelings oniichan.

Oh wow, a laptop that doesn't work until you plug your phone into it, what a great idea
What do you guys think about Brave browser? I'm using it right now and man it's fast. It's still in development, but it shows promise. At least it's the first browser that has the balls to block ads and trackers by default, and its open source.
it's the next best browser. it just needs a few more feature updates and it will be good to go as your default. i already use it and it works better than any other browser minus a few missing features i need.
>>56678731
I concur
Stop shilling your Jewish botnet browser.
one day we will be playing 120GB games on our browsers that were programmed with javascript!
>>56678691
it's possible, if 10gps speeds and 1PB ssd's become the norm.
>>56678739
It will never come to most of America.
oh good, so i can blame increasing levels of bloat in browsers on something everyone can hate (vidya games) instead of the jews
20 years left
>>56678438
I hate when semi intellectuals spew bullshit about this bullshit.
We can make computers do a lot of things, but we are a long way from making them do everything and anything we want them to.
It is not even certain if we will reach the point of the singularity yet.
>>56678466
It's not a matter of "if" anymore just when. Everything can be simulated. In fact there is no way of of knowing if our existence is a simulation in and of itself.
>>56678754
>everything is simulation
Do people in field of computers believe this shit? (Physics guy here with some knowledge of programming and GNU/Linux)
One time i saw a documentary where a heart surgeon talks about human consciousness being sort of held in heart muscle fibers. When asked how, he replied that String theory has 11 dimensions so the consciousness is going to other dimensions. Anyone who has done maths of sting theory would probably not believe that crap.
Such retard propositions are made by people of one field who don't know jack shit on other field but are way more influenced by mainstream popsci.
tl;dr : Basically I agree with this anon >>56678466
ITT: shitty programming languages
C++
I'd rather use D or Go or Rust.
The shittiest.
chrome removes tab labels
why do these heeb cunts think that it is acceptable to sacrifice functionality for aesthetics?
i DGAF if it "look cool" just bring back my fucking tab labels
inb4 using botnet browser
how is this going to make anyone or anything more productive ? having to hover over each fucking tab to see what it is instead of just having the fucking label in plain view
this is part of the jew conspiracy to make gentiles less productive and bring down society or maybe it's just pure autism , i don't even fuckin know anymore
>this is part of the jew conspiracy to make gentiles less productive and bring down society
>>>/pol/
>or maybe it's just pure autism
Yes, on your end.

I am sure some autistic faget has already come up with a chrome extension that provides bonus functions apart from the previously built in functions you wanted but was removed
