Can that retard implement webp at least? Seriously it would cut traffic by a shitload.

I woke up to find my laptop hijacked due to windows 10.
They do not keep your log in so you have to refresh just to get onto your computer.
Refreshing means they take away all the apps they do not like supposedly (this is from a 90 minute call to them on their disability line) as the apps may interfere with 10. They are full of rubbish! They took away adobe so I cant read emails and I cant reinstall it for some odd reason. They took away xnview that I need for my photos to sell online. They took away my Hoyle card games. They took away sketch up which I use for 3 d printing and the list goes on. The worse part though which I just relaised is they took away my office. I have a full version of office as I are mute. I use MS word to communicate and its gone. I use excel from the same full version to get into voter files and I are in the middle of 2 recall campaigns. Office now has to be reinstalled to use word and excel and that means finding the key code too which I don't know where it is.
That is all I have discovered so far. They do not care to fix anything. They do not download what they stole from you. Its all on you and they do not tell you this ahead of time. They are also still figuring out the tech issues. You and everyone including the disabled community are their guinea pigs and they don't care how many problems they cause either!
The disability people are totally useless and this is not the first time either.
I would suggest you all go to Linux or Windows 7. At least your PC will belong to yourself. Fuck.
This is what happens when software doesn't respect your freedom.

I'm bored. What do I need to know to make the jump to FreeBSD?
Is it really as secure and professional as the official page makes it look?
>>57000796
>Is it really as secure and professional as the official page makes it look?
Eh, yes and no.
>>57000796
It's security are based on policies. It employs a very robust MAC that supports biba, MLS, RBAC and similar things. It also employs a sandboxing framework called capsicum. Quite nice compared to the alternatives, but sometimes hard to integrate. Jails are nice for containerization, ZFS is an absolute joy, but so is UFS2. DTrace can be used to monitor and optimize things in production and is widely regarded as the best production-ready tracing tool in existence. It's also being extensively developed on FreeBSD as there is a high interest in creating a distributed version. Virtualization is also in a high rise on FreeBSD, with lots of focus and care given to bhyve. The networking stack is perhaps one of the best in the business, especially the TCP/IP stack with 0 global state. It is effectively virtualized using vnet, allowing for great performance on high load servers.
>>57000894
As a followup, there are things that do lack in FreeBSD. Namely, use of RC4 is still a thing and lack of ASLR/ASR. While an ASR patch exists and is in the works, it's important to understand this flaw. MAC does help prevent attacks that would otherwise be successful due to lack of ASLR/ASR.

when will SSD prices drop?
why are they so expensive? do people companies not wanna move on from HDDs?
Meme technology, meme prices
they're expensive because HDDs need a market.
Companies with extra money are moving towards SSD-only or SSDs for non-cold storage. Server companies that are struggling to profit or have absurd amounts of data that would make upgrading unreasonably expensive still use HDDs alongside SSDs

I'm looking to try a desktop unix OS in my old PC, the BIOS here is pretty annoying and don't recognize any of my USB drivers and I only have two CD-R with maximum 700MB capacity.
Is there any ISO with 700MB to fit on a CD-R?
should I be looking for the older versions of any unix OS's?
>>57000648
Did you actually make a thread to ask this? Go to the site of the OS you want to try and see for yourself dumbass, that information is not something you need to ask other people for. Sage.

What
This has happened more than once
I had this happen a lot with my old phone, except it was the opposite and would display something like 30% battery when it was really at close to 0%. It was rooted and the problem persisted across different custom ROMs. I'm guessing the battery was fucked.
>>57000599
Something similar happens to me with my iPhone
The battery will show something like 2% and when I plug in the charger it jumps to like 20%

Help. I have two router-looking things in my living room, they're both connected and one of them has a plugged in telephone cable or something like that
When I disconnect one of them the internet stops working
I tried plugging the ethernet cable in every single port and it's not working
Help /g/
Not your tech support
Fuck off
>>57000491
All you really need to do is plug an ethernet cable into your pc and the other in the router.
Now one of those two "router looking thingies" is your gateway. Plug the cable into one of four LAN ports.

have you ever tried a linux distro that is small enough to fit on a floppy disk?
I installed second release of Slackware from diskettes.
Puppy once had diskette fitting version.
