Why hasn't Intel made a laptop CPU that's a hybrid between the atoms and an i5?

So it could be like a quad core atom and dual core i5 together. When the laptop is on battery the atom is in use and when it's plugged in the i5 is in use?

Modern atoms are plenty powerful for normie shit and you wouldn't do anything intensive running off the battery usually.

It could be a laptop with good battery life and performance.

Yes. Turn off immediately. Do not write to any disks. Replace PSU.

Comfy is finally respecting the terms of his permaban. His various alter-egos, sockpuppets and strawmen accounted for 98% of this general.

The other 2% is people opening up packages with a screen protector and a USB cable.

Hey /g/,

my 144 FPS monitor broke (after a little more than 2 years - just out of warranty). It was an Acer 24" Predator GN246HL. I'm guessing it was just bad luck. Since it's still the cheapest option, is there any reason not to get another one? I don't care about colours (other than being able to actually use the monitor like a normal monitor for gaming/browsing etc.).

What is with this
A) Surely the webcam light would come on and you would know someone's watching you... it's not possible without having downloaded some shit tier software anyway, right?
B) who actually gives a shit about being seen naked or whatever, especially if you're not female. There's a whole webcamming industry out there
Can someone who knows about computers please explain this to me? ty

>A) Surely the webcam light would come on and you would know someone's watching you... it's not possible without having downloaded some shit tier software anyway, right?
there's evidence that webcams can be activated without the indicator light turning on.

>B) who actually gives a shit about being seen naked or whatever, especially if you're not female. There's a whole webcamming industry out there
some people have something to live for, and being blackmailed for nude videos and stuff can be a real drag.

if you don't care about other people seeing you naked, why do you care about other people covering up their webcams? this is like the most retarded hypocritical complaint i've ever seen on /g/

The salesman conned my dad into buying a year of norton antivirus with my laptop
I feel like I have to use it now, since it was like $60, but I still really hate it.
Are viruses still a thing?? Were they ever a thing?? or were they just part of fearmongering about the internet that old people like to do
Surely free AV plus like, common sense and basic browser security is enough
What do you guys reckon? What AV do you use?

Defender with common sense.

Be wary of Norton at the end of the subscription, lots of reports of Norton from years back, of blocking networking traffic (buffering speeds on youtube for example) and causing malicious wireless card driver stoppages to 'Re-create' virus like behaviour.

All to con the facebook grandmother into paying out a new year.
>>
>>57009416

Free AV is fine but yes, malware is definitely a thing. I worked IT for a while, it is literally just doing malware removal and reinstalling because malware fucked something up. Security suites are actually kind of nice for older users who don't really have that common sense since they perform active monitoring but it's pretty bloated
