/g/, what do you use for encrypting your drives, and do you suggest a password or a key file for optimal tinfoil? (I'm doing it for fun, honestly. For learning and so on.)
I am also trying to set up data backup for my stuff now that I know I need to have such things in place. I put all my stuff on one drive, but now can't section it out across other drives at this moment. Is there a software that will let me encrypt the data as it makes its partition, or is that just not how that works and I'll have to buy some HDDs?
>posting a white woman
This is /g/, you know...
TrueCrypt 7.1a is supposedly still safe to use
It's also what I use
I have been using VeraCrypt

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/google-fact-checking-presidential-election-candidates-news-hoax-fake-real-a7361231.html
Internet search giant Google has introduced a new fact-checking feature in its new section to allow readers to determine whether or not a story is true.
“Today, we’re adding another new tag, “Fact check,” to help readers find fact checking in large news stories.”
Through an algorithmic process from schema.org known as ClaimReview, live stories will be linked to fact checking articles and websites. This will allow readers to quickly validate or debunk stories they read online.Related fact-checking stories will appear onscreen underneath the main headline. The example Google uses shows a headline over passport checks for pregnant women, with a link to Full Fact’s analysis of the issue.
Readers will be able to see if stories are fake or if claims in the headline are false or being exaggerated.
Fact check will initially be available in the UK and US through the Google News site as well as the News & Weather apps for both Android and iOS. Publishers who wish to become part of the new service can apply to have their sites included.
“We’re excited to see the growth of the Fact Check community and to shine a light on its efforts to divine fact from fiction, wisdom from spin,” the company said.

should I get a 1440p monitor or go ahead and fall for the 4k meme?
unless you have a god tier computer or 25-50 fps doesn't bother you go for 1440
>>57075578
That's a tough question.
>>57075578
I have a 1440p and a 144hz and I wouldn't change either of them for anything else

It's okay, anon, someday you'll figure out how to download and install an ISO.
Post all your /g/ related webms.
Also post guides for how you do your webms.

Anonymous IRC is the future. ITT we post servers with AnonIRCd or anonymous channel modes.
-IRCnet (http://irc.tu-ilmenau.de/all_servers/), main channel !anonymous (they have a +a chanmode)
-z.1ch**.us, main channel # (anonIRCd by teeX) (note that 1ch** is censored by 4chan for some reason)
-irc.sageru.org, they don't want you though (anonIRCd by MeltingWax)

How about using TOR to IRC?
You get anonymity anywhere TOR is allowed to connect.
>>57075493
That's not what I mean by anonymous IRC. See pic, everyone has an <anonymous> as their nicks.
It's like reddit vs 4chan. You can use reddit through Tor, but you still have to use a pseudonym.

If you bought the Galaxy Note 7 what is your next move?
The Note 7 is without a doubt the best phone out right now. In fact it's good enough for most of us to consider risking it catching fire in our pocket.
It's truly heartbreaking to have to get rid of it.
The note 7 really smokes the competition
Note 7 owners literally blown the fuck out

>best phone out right now

The shilling is strong in this one.
So this is a very particular question.
I'm wondering, Is it better to have multiple low-end gpu's with say 4gb of ddr3, (maybe 4 GTX 745's or something) and spread the rendering workload over them, or a single larger high-end card like a Titan or Quadro with 8gb ram, or even two mid-range cards with around 2-4gb ddr5 (maybe two gtx 670's)?
Basically I want to know what's a better use of 300-600 bucks? Used or new is not an issue in this case. It's all for making a decent render-farm like computer for my workstation that'll hold me over for a couple years while I work up to some pro-grade parts. I typically use Blender with cycles and do a number of fluid simulations and have a few characters on screen with few if any particle simulations.
My setup is:
CPU: fx-6300 6-core
MB: Asus M5a99fx pro
Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 plus
RAM: 32GB Kingston Hyper X Blue(4x8gb sticks)
PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme 700 Watt
Heatsink: Cooler Master Seidon 120M
Hdd: 2x1TB HDD in raid zero(adding a back-up drive this week)
GPU: GTX 950 SC
Currently I'm planning on upgrading my CPU and getting multiple mid or low range cards to handle things, but maybe sticking with a weaker processor and getting a larger card would be worth it.
Does anyone know what these set-ups would benchmark like?
if this girl was in real life she wouldn't even look at me twice
still
Note multiple GPUs will not increase total available memory. Perhaps RTFM?

well I know that much, the total available memory isn't the issue.
Thanks for the link btw

The data used for these stats seems a bit shit. Ideally you should be testing at least a thousand drives of each model, yet in this chart the data for some models is taken from a sample of less than 50.
