Why is Linux font rendering so fucking ugly compared to Windows?
99 posts and 23 images submitted.
>>
>>57088902
i believe you can change it. i have no idea how to do it, tho.
>>
because you can't bother to configure it, apparently.
>>
But it's windows that has the ugly font rendering, OP.

I miss the old Moto
Straight from Fort Worth moto
The fast update Moto
The stock OS Moto
I hate the new Moto
The bad update Moto
The always dropped support Moto
The Lenovo Moto
I miss the Google Moto
The good support Moto
I gotta say
I'd like to meet Rich Osterloh
See I build my Moto
It wasn't any Moto
And now I look and look around and theres so many Motos
I used to love Moto
I used to love Moto
I even had a pink Moto
I thought I was a Moto fan
What if Moto made another 2013 Moto X
Man that'd be so Moto!
That all it was Moto
We still love Moto
and I love Moto like Moto loves Moto

Why is MacOS so shit? I use iMacs at work and they're slow as hell. The operating system is a fucking joke. From the frosted glass and fischer price ui to the gigantic icons in the launch pad app drawer thingy. Pic related is what happens when you click the button for network diagnostics when Safari can't connect to the internet. Did Apple just think its users are too dumb to even try basic troubleshooting? All the Mac shills can get fucked. These computers make my life harder whenever I just wanna do some goddamn spreadsheets.

Dudes, hypothetically speaking, if I make money off a legislative grayzone in the interwebs and hide behind a VPN, and if some butthurt sues me, will the VPN provider in the unforseen future, will they rat me out?

Would it be stupid to buy a new 1080p monitor in 2016? Should I buy a 1440p monitor instead?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>57088620
I built my first pc two months ago and I bought a Asus VG248QE (Full HD 144 Hz). I couldn't be happier. 1080p is still a great format imo, because it's comfortable for daily desktop use and a lot of things/media content is natively produced in Full HD, whereas native content at 1440p is pretty scarce.
>>
>>57088620
I'd say no. It will still be quite a few years till 1440p becomes standard.
>>
>>57088620
I've got a 900p ViewSonic from 2004, and I'm waiting for 4k 120 Hz to become mainstream before I upgrade.

I did some time at a small firm, looking over some Python scripts another guy wrote. It was reasonably idiomatic but if the guy forgot to plan for something, he threw in a function. It was extremely scatterbrained and full of 2 line functions.

It wasn't horrendous, just a pain in the ass to find a 2 line function that could've easily been written in.

Why C++ has a lot of haters?
35 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>57088487
It's not as easy as python, newbie coders can't handle C++ even though it's not that difficult to learn unless your IQ is below 100. So they need to trash other languages to feel better about themselves.
It's not as difficult as java, so programmers who opted for java (including masses of pajeets) have to say crap about the C language family to feel superior.

Although overall it's arguably the best language.
>works everywhere
>has excellent performance
>>
>>57088591
So learning C++ is a big deal?
>>
>>57088630
No. You learn what you will need in your programming career, it's just stupid saying certain languages are inferior because YOU don't need them. If you need performance or are making parts of an OS, then the more abstract languages are better. If you just want to write a quick script, there's nothing wrong with python.
Although, C++ is diverse and very useful, it can never hurt learning it or at least the basics. But this applies to several other languages as well.

I have 31 codes from soft drink/snack packages of the same kind (won't specify the brand so no one steals them, sorry) that I can enter into a website and win a prize every hour.

My question is this: can any of you /g/men identify a pattern so that I can generate valid codes and win more shit? If anyone succeeds, I will share everything I hopefully win with them, 50/50. You'll have to take my word for that. Here are the codes:

RKWPQV4C
RKDTRWJ3
RKWCPJGF
RKDRAWNZ
RKANVLTE
RKDVE3R4
RKWJLACT
RKNYFXPQ
RKWVPYUN
RKDQ4RJT
RKWPNH7V
RKWNRQDE
RKNYCZ3U
RKNH43FT
RKAH37LU
RKNGXCEL
RKNXJC3Z
RKQJLYFC
RKADPG3N
RKDHVGAU
RKAEVLF4
RKQHYTCV
RKAEURTX
RKDZL3FC
RKDL3CRP
RKNUF7TL
RKDQAVPC
RKQANVDZ
RKANZTPD
RKWU7DLG
RKWJTPAH
RKQHPA7X

They are the same length and they both start with RK, which probably represent the brand and the flavour of the product. The rest of the characters seem completely random to me.

>>
It's actually 32 codes, I'm just bad at counting.
>>
RK[ADNQW] for a start.
Might contain a digit, 3/4/7.
There's no B, I, M, O, S anywhere. Some of the missing digits/letters are to avoid mistaking 5 for S for example.

Try adding the ascii codes of each character for each string and see if they add up to the same number. Probably not, just throwing ideas.
