it has better available sound fidelity but is much larger filesize so there is a tradeoff.

Why does /g/ hate innovation
>>57097432
Competition doesn't mean charity.
If you have nothing to offer over your competitors, you will go bankrupt, even if your competitor are only slightly better. People won't buy your shit just because maybe one day you will improve.
Intel has competition. It's called ARM.

Compete with noone not even yourself - me
I'm getting really paranoid, I just purchased a new computer and when I was taking it out of the box
I actually dropped it in the packaging maybe about a 6 inch drop. The computer was still in styrofoam but it dropped on the base which wasn't in styrofoam.
I'm concerned if I've damaged it, is that possible, or am I being paranoid?
I've booted it up and it works fine
pic related is the computer
>>57097401
Computers aren't that fragile as many people think. If it boots up it means the hard drive isn't broken, which is the part that is most likely to break in a drop. You're fine.
>>57097429
It has only an SSD anyway, maybe that means it's even harder to break
>>57097401
>i dropped a computer wrapped in protective casing 6 inches
>i plugged it in and it works fine
it's fine. it was likely abused more during construction and transport.

Doesn't seem very regal to view old versions of websights.
Hi all, So I completely forgot a password for an encrypted drive and dont have a physical copy of the key anywhere. Thing is I know it can be a limited number of combinations of words+numbers, maximum wordlist of 15.
Anyone can advise a brute force tool where I can reference a wordlist of my own making.
Thanks!
>maximum wordlist of 15
Why not try all of these by hand then?
>>57097141
RIP. If your encryption system is efficient (with iterations, etc), it'll be too slow to bruteforce a 15 passwords.
>>57097157
I think he meant 15 chars max.

Sup /g/ents,
I've been busy writing a cross platform application based on QT. Now i was wondering what the best way is to deploy the package on linux. Msi installer for windows & .apk for android. Should i just write an configure script and let the users compile it themselves or should i bother creating and maintaining a package for the most popular distros?
Depends on the application and its target user group.

How can I be certain this doesn't just proxy Google results and log everything I search for?
You can't.
It runs on Yahoo's search engine.
Its results are far shittier than Google's, so there's your first hint.
You can't technically be sure that any company is strictly following their privacy policy. Are you an idiot?
>open website with no adblock

why do people do this
I hope by "adblock" you did not actually mean ABP.
>>57096929
I meant adblocking in general.
Whenever I see people using ab or abp instead of ublocko I want to die.

Is 1440p a meme? It worth upgrading to a 1440p ips from a 1080p tn?

thing is, what you're doing on your computer should take even less than that
Do you even ramdisk?

you could send a broadcast ARP request and see the responces...
or login in the router and check the log..

ask your wifi transmitter.
Just installed Tomato on an old Linksys WRT54G.
So easy, and now it even gave me WPA2 support. Neat, this router has much better signal coverage than my more modern Netgear, I'm gonna give it a try.
Anyway, I would still use a signal boost. I see a lot of aftermarket antennas for this, any specific to get? Need high wall penetration.
dubs decide what I name my SSID
>>57096731

Get another router and connect it in another room. OR get a Unifi kit.
>>57096799
Aw shit, dubs!
>>57096799

I picked up a EnGenius EAP300 for free99. I was gonna give it a try if high gain antennas dont do the trick.
I'm finding some nice 7dbi for $6 shipped. Will it make a difference?
Hey /g/, do you care about toaster compatibility?
