Larger SSDs tend to be significantly faster than smaller ones. This is common knowledge.

ITS OVER, APPLE SHILL. YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED, YOURE ON SUICIDE WATCH
You click 'Download' on the Mint homepage and select the release you want.
If you couldn't figure that much out on your own, Linux might not be for you though.

But what are the pros and cons re: MIUI vs CM? Why should one make the switch to CM?
I love the look of the basic MIUI apps, with its unified theme and each app having a similar design, similar logos but a diferent color..
From what I understand CM looks uglier but allows more customization? So is it possible to use MIUI apps on CM, or to make it look as good, customizing icons, menus (font, header, colors), etc.?
CM has stock android experience and the built-in root manager which are pretty good.
but iirc (not sure about this) the fingerprint reader doesn't work and Full disk encryption is broken.
Cm has many themes
The problem with miui is updates are pretty slow and has a lot of bloat
If you want the stock Android feel better to flash cm

Have you tried installing Gentoo?
How do you /g/entlemen go about downloading paid APKs for free?
This is how I have done it before.
Step 1
Purchase application from Google Play
Step 2
Download File Expert from Google Play (It's free)
Step 3
Backup the purchased application .apk with the app I just told you about
Step 4
Refund the purchased application
Step 5
Install application from the .apk you saved
are you really too poor to pay a couple dollars for an app
>>57135603
Apps shouldn't cost money I already paid a few hundred for my phone.
For what reason do normalfags hate on Internet Explorer?
I know that many of you will probably say that it is proprietary, or that there are better browsers out there that respect your freedom, and such and such, but these things don't matter to the average normalfag.
What, then, do they hate so much about it? Is it nothing more than "uh well my friend told me IE is lame, so I guess it is lol"?

>Is it nothing more than "uh well my friend told me IE is lame, so I guess it is lol"?
Exactly, normies changed IE for FF years ago cause their friends used to tell them tha it was better, when chrome came out they changed to that cause it seemed faster.
Now that IE is actually faster than chrome normies won't readopt it cause of the past bad fame and cause Microcuck can't into marketing for shit unlike Jewgle.

I hate it because it doesn't follow W3C and does whatever the fuck it wants.

>"Hey, MS here, why not enable all of our spyware bullshit"
>No thanks

>Yes!!

Is the Macbook Air still the best /g/ approved laptop or has something better taken that spot yet?
>>57135522

The Air is a pile of shit, always has been. Can't imagine the consensus here being that it was somehow "/g/ approved", whatever the fuck that means.

From what you guys say, linux sounds pretty cool. I'm thinking about installing Gentoo. Any of you guys jump off the deep end and install Gentoo as your first distro?
>>57135514
You might as well, if you don't know what you're doing at all then how is one thing harder then another? Besides, the guide goes step by step anyway, anyone who can follow simple instructions can do it.
If you really want to learn about Linux do Linux From Scratch.
>>57135514
>install Gentoo as your first distro?
2 year old gentoo user here.
If you only used windows before then I wouldn't recommend it
But who knows. Maybe you're a genious and can figure it out everything at first install.
If you just want to try Linux in a desktop then just go with ubuntu, xubuntu, lubuntu or kubuntu. Look at images of those and choose the one you like the most
have fun

iPhone 6s vs. Galaxy S7 Edge
Can anyone redpill me on this choice? Both are the approximately the same price.
I like the iPhone's design more and that it's smaller, and iOS smoothness. I'm afraid that the Edge will be bulky and I'm scared to drop it. Opinions?
>>57135509
S7 is a horrifically bloated, laggy piece of shit. I bought one and ended up selling it after 2 weeks.
Do not buy over priced "flagship" android phones let alone samshit.
The iphone 6s is a solid little phone you cannot go wrong with, and as long as you don't go to IOS 10 you can jailbeak it and do pretty much anything. Plus they are a good deal now.
I've read a lot of reviews that did not enjoy the feel of the Edge, said it was uncomfortable to hold and actually felt like the standard S7 was better designed.
The S7 and S7 Edge are both water resistant and I don't think the iPhone 6s is.
Both S7s will both have better hardware than the iPhone, and expandable storage; that matters for responsiveness in things like web browsers or if you play games; or if you live or work somewhere with bad service and like to make sure your media is available locally. I live near a rich person neighborhood, so there aren't enough cell towers nearby, and I get bad reception right up until I'm home and getting on wifi.
The biggest problem is that Samsung shits up their phones with TouchWiz. It's not as bad as some OEM bloat shitware, but it's not as good as stock Android. If you're willing to try running a custom ROM, that's recommended.
>>57135584
That's what I thought. iOS seems more reliable in that matter. I would just use the normie apps so I don't really need that extra power, just a reliable lagless phone
Is the ideapad 100s still the crowned budget king or has something new replaced it?
>>57135430
Just get a used thinkpad. Better specs and way more cheaper than an Ali-Express Netbook.
>>57135430
Nice bait. Ideapad has always been shit. Get a real Thinkpad, faggot.
>>57135475

Hey lads. I'm moving to Japan in 3 weeks, and I wanna trade in my old Galaxy 5 for a new android, but I wanna fit in with the phone culture over there. Any suggestions on what phone I should get that is popular in Japan (no iphones please).
>no iphones
How about just one iphone, then?
On a more serious note, I hear flip hones are still common over there
>>57135442
I heard that too, but my filthy western mind would prefer a smartphone
>>57135414
Maybe tell your budget and what you need in a smartphone
Hey /g/,
Ive been looking into to getting a new monitor. My work place has Lenovo ThinkVision LT2452p's. I really like this monitor and I could pick up one for about £150, used.
Im curious as to whether /g/ could suggest to me, or point me out a better monitor for less.
My main uses are programming, pretty heavy gaming and fapping.
pic related, a LT2452p.
>>57135420

>ThinkVision LT2452p
I don't know anything about that monitor or how shit is in bongistan but a quick google says it's IPS, 16:10 1920x1200 with 178 vertical and horizontal viewing angle so thats good.
£150 seems pretty expensive for a used 24" monitor though, but I dunno I haven't bought a monitor in ages, still using a 30" Dell IPS I got for free lol.
bump for help
Windows Defender just *bimp, bimp* here
what the hell did you do to reach this point
not safe
It should be surprising to no one that Windows Defender (a product created by Microsoft) would classify Microsoft Toolkit (a tool created to pirate Microsoft products) as malware.
>>57137493
This. What kind of retarded faggot are you to scan pirating tools OP? Hell you're already retarded by having to use antivirus, windefender to boot, in the first place.
