If you're retarded, microsoft security essentials is fine for you. If you're not retarded don't even bother running antivirus.
What the fuck is going on with my computer /g/? The other day I booted it up and it just gave me a black screen with my mouse in the middle but I couldn't move it. I've tried a hard reset and booting into safe mode but nothing has worked. Luckily I can still boot into BIOS, but I can't figure out what I can do from there to fix it. It's a gaming computer I7 processor 16 gigs of ram running Windows 7 64 bit and I've had it for about 3 years. Anyone know how to fix this? Pic related
>>57136830
Dude... that happened to me today. I just had to restore to a previous restore point. It works now
>>57136902
Alright I'll try that. Thanks man

Why do people not use their browsers or windows in full screen and instead do something like pic related?
Why do people have their taskbar at the top instead of bottom?
Where do Linux and OSX users put their shortcuts?
I have icons on the bottom right such as steam and qbittorent, but where do linux user put thiers at?
>Where do Linux and OSX users put their shortcuts?
For macOS, I put them into the dock.
It depends on the size of the screen.
On my 13" laptop I use the browser fullscreen, have the taskbar hidden.
>shortcuts
press windows/super key and type the first 2-3 letters of the program you want to run, its faster than using the mouse
>taskbar at top
I like mine on the right or left side, some desktop enviroments allows merging taskbar with menu bar of the maximized window so it makes sense that its on top in that case

that is the 10th most autistic desktop
congratulations
Anyone else thinks the UI esthetics of windows peaked with 7?
8.1 and 10 are pig-disgusting. Who thought mixing 2 styles of UI is a good idea?
>>57136692
windows 7 is ugly as h*ck, 8.1 looks way nicer
t. professional ricer
>>57136692
Yes. Windows 7's Aero is beautiful. Everything before and after sucked ass if looks are concerned. The functionality has stayed mostly the same except for metro being added.
>>57136989
Classic is best, so XP was the peak.
Sure you can get classic in 7, but it doesn't un-pigfat the tallest.
Internet shit itself earlier only to figure out that it was a DNS issue - I use 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 myself went back to Virgin Media's default to get back on the internet but I want to know if there's anything better out there?

READ THE FUCKING WIKI
What happened when you pressed the turbo button?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_button
>>57136603
On most custom-built or no-name PC's, nothing, because they were just on the case and never hooked up. On OEM PC's such as Gateway, they would slow down the CPU to something along the lines of 8 MHz to allow older programs to run properly. Many programs, such as old games, would run unplayably fast on a 3 or 486. So the turbo button ironically slowed the system down to a 286-level speed so they could run properly.
>>57136640
Cool. I didn't know this. I used to have that button. I never pressed it because I had it in my head that the machine would like take off or something.
So /g/uys, I don't know if this is forbidden in the board, but I'm in kind of a jam. Lemme explain a little bit.
>New housekeeper in my house
>She's new in the country, and very naïve overall
>She gets phone-tricked, a common tactic in my country where people call asking for valuables, threatening to some serious economical consequences for the household
>Falls into it, gives some of my mother's jewelry to the people
>My mother is now pretty devastated, it was loads of jewels, and a pair of them weren't even payed yet
So I wanted to gain some money to help my mom get some new stuff, but the problem is I don't have a job (Still in the equivalent of college here), so I wanted to know if there was something I can do to gain some extra bucks via Internet. It would be better if it's something that has programming in between. Please help a brother out
tl;dr I need quick bux, anyway I can do some code via Internet to get them?
The answer is obvious, how did those guys make so much money?
>>57136535
Sue the housekeeper for stealing your shit.
>>57136535
What country do you live in? Kind of strange to be able to afford a housekeeper but not be able to replace jewelry. How much in total were the jewels?
Trying to find info on these. Found them for $2, mint condition and seems quite sturdy and well made. But I can not find any information on them more then the name (ROBYN RANGE+) and that it is "Authorised by Telia".
Anyone have something on these?
>>57136534
I'd wager a guess that they're walkie-talkies.
They are powered by one 9v battery
>>57136542
No shit. Also I've never seen someone reply so fast!
