I bought this lousy Alienware tower for peanuts from an friend selling all his old shit.
This will be a perfect starter PC for my nephew but honestly after wiping it and benchmarking it, it's pathetic.
I don't really want to invest much into it otherwise I'd have made him a new build, it really just needs a new card as it has two shitty Radeon HD 5670s in it - one of which is dead kek.
I've never touched Alienware and I don't think anyone with any self respect would, but it was so ridiculously cheap I couldn't pass it up as Christmas gift.
Anyway I'm thinking of putting a 1050ti in there as they are releasing pretty cheap too. What I'm wondering though is will this be possible in this tower? I know Alienware/Dell makes things difficult with 'proprietary' upgrades for their Alienware shit.
Will it be possible to just throw a 1050ti in there and wrap it up?
Yes.
Yes.

start by installing gentoo
First you have to become a game developer.
VR has extra worries beyond those of game development, but you need to know game development first.

Post your simple/stupid questions here, ONCE
You are NOT entitled to an answer.
Please redirect or ignore anybody asking stupid questions outside this thread.
Protip: If you can't tell if your question deserves it's own thread, its very likely it doesn't. Post it here, we'll let you know.

What is the difference between opening site from localhost/public and running php artisan serve on port 8000 in Laravel?
>>57235380
I also don't get why we have to call it the "stupid" question thread. Is the implication that every "smart" question deserves a thread of its own, or that you shouldn't even attempt to discuss one on /g/? Just call it the Q&A general with an OP that lists common links for PC building and troubleshooting shit.
Why isn't Python used instead of C in literally everything? I get that it's 10 times slower in running some tasks but isn't it 10 times easier and quicker to write? Give me one program that can be written in C but not in Python.
>>57235130
>I get that it's 10 times slower
Well there you go.
>>57235130
When your program is time/resource critical 10 times worse is unacceptable
>>57235130
Sometimes making things 10 times faster is worth having to spend ten times as much time. Everything CAN be written in Python or Node.JS or whatever, it's just that they shouldn't be. It also introduces at least one additional layer of abstraction that can break your shit. You don't want to write drivers or kernels or production servers in Python, fucking trust me on that.
Screw you guys for telling me this was a meme.
It runs flawlessly, who cares if it's more "bloated" than other text editors, it's 2016, my computer can run it just fine.
Who needs vim when you've got this that looks 10x better, actually allows you to navigate by clicking rather than pressing 50 different keys, and won't get you kicked out of starbucks for looking like a hacker.

So how is it better than Sublime?
>>57235095
>my computer can run it just fine
YOUR computer can run it just fine. Not everybody can afford a computer who will run this efficiently.
>looks better
Agreed here.
>allows you to navigate by clicking
Sounds like it is aimed at newbie programmers instead of experienced ones. Taking your hand off your keyboard wastes crucial time and energy.

do you work in trade because you're to stupid for tech?
I prefer money, trades land you unemployment the moment the economy takes a hit.
See Spain, everybody who quit school to make easy money as a construction worker got FUCKED when the bubble bursted.
Tech on the other hand will be in demand for years to come because we're nowhere the limit of automation and efficiency improvement.
