>buy HP laserjet printer cum scanner
>it's 2016, so been around 6 years since i last had a printer at home
>expected universal drivers or something but had to install driver CD
>with drivers they install all kinds of their poorly made bloatware
>"ORDER PAPERS ONLINE", "ORDER INK ONLINE", "VISIT OUR STORE"
>suddenly prints their three page manual or some shit
>the programs they supplied to print and scan crash all the fucking time
>can't even scan at 1200dpi, it fucking crashes
>try to print something, it won't print
>decide to reboot
>just as computer reboots, the fucking printer starts puking out documents in the queue at the speed of light
>waste a lot of toner printing the same document 4 times
It's motherfucking 2016, why can't companies just get this 1970s technology right? Why is it that a printer no matter how good always gives you problems?

ITT 30 year old plus virgin lives with parents who just bought a new printer, give him the only work he's had to do since high school more than a decade ago, still spills his spaghetti every where
>>57242721
>Buy HP
There's your problem. I know I'm stuck using one too.
Get canon or brother.
Can't you just install only the drivers with the inf file? I don't have a printer right now but I'm quite sure I did it before.
What's a ni/g/ger to do when he doesn't want to use Firefox but wants a none shit web browser that won't fucking sell you out to Hilldawg?
What browsers are good.
Browser fucking thread I guess.
>What browsers are good.
None of them.

Am still using my R1 as my only computer, and to me am amazed that dell choice to discontinue this little amazing pice of hardware.
Just the feel to put it on the table in Starbucks and spinn up Arch is amazing.

Far from it, although it's nice to see a decline, hopefully they will be more innovative now that they know they can actually loose their market. Although I doubt they will be innovative in any way.
They told us this was expected months ago.
They made a subpar phone and "wouldn't tell the sales numbers" meaning they knew they had to take a hit.
They did so that their next phone could get an even greater upswing when they introduce the all glass phone that is possible without the jack.
This one was just to ease people into the idea of not having a jack.

Hey /g/,
First time here, predominantly from /tv/ and /pol/.
I know nothing about computers, but I'm in a bit of a tight stop r.e. rent, so I wanna sell these two deadish laptops I have for parts.
The first is a 2011 macbook pro that doesn't have a screen (I removed it and tried to hook it up to a monitor). Works perfectly despite, what I assume is, a battery problem.
The second is an asus G5IV 'gaming' laptop that works perfectly but has a fan/overheating problem.
How much would be a fair price for these two?
(pic unrelated to me)
>>57242076
>/g/ is NOT your personal tech support team
>>57242076
>What can I get for a very broken laptop, and a slightly broken laptop?
Maybe $20, out of pity.
>>57242076
Asus g5IV then just fix the fan with a new one

>Thousands of times every month, we give governments information about Apple customers and devices, in response to warrants and other forms of legal process. We have a team that responds to those requests 24 hours a day. Strong encryption does not eliminate Apple’s ability to give law enforcement meta-data or any of a number of other very useful categories of data.
wow wow wow, coming from the VP too
ofc they do
if they had nothing to hide why would the source code be hidden?

>in respond to warrants and other forms of legal process

Isn't this common knowledge? Google and every other big tech company plays the same game when subpoenaed.
Just bought this.
Thoughts on how well it works /g/?

What the hell is that?
i wonder what this actually does
looking for a decent phone that can perform these tasks without getting cancer like 2008 android phones.
ordered by priority:
text messaging/SMS
battery life
phone calls
offline maps
music playback
no android or iOS crap unless they're actually worth their prices, maybe like iPhone SE if anyone has experience with it. Until iPhone 4s it was okay but after that it all went downhill in design and practicality, Android phones are similar, don't know about modern OS but prior to lolipop it was disgusting and unstable.
Being innawoods without a phone is shitty. I can survive but its still shitty.
I'm looking for something along the lines of Nokia E71. Great build, stable, long lasting, hell even looks great. But if there is a "smart phone" that comes close to it, list it. Thanks.

Sent from my Rose Gold iPhone SE.

is it actually not a meme? I really dont like iOS 10 either, hopefully its stable and bus are fixed. Minor things like music player glitches ticked me off
>>57242068
hmm thanks, defs considered

why don't you block the entire country of china from connection to your computer?
seems like a generally good security measure
any reason why I shouldn't block an entire country's ip address ranges?
because proxies exist
