Looking to finally ditch shitty $30 chink headphones, is the HyperX Cloud II a decent headset? If so, do I need any external hardware, such as a DAC, etc?
What are you using the Headphones for?
Music, games, producing?
>>57287133
Get Grado, Senheiser, or Shure.
>>57287133
It's the least shitty gaymen headset, but that's not saying much
I am new to FTP. I set up a server off one of my old computers so I could easily transfer some work stuff to my laptop while I was out of town (it syncs over VPN to work, but I can't set up the laptop on the corp networks for whatever reason).
My curiosity is that if the server is active, within minutes (without any advertising, even changed my IP address at home) I get random connects & disconnects from various out of country IP addresses.
Is this normal?
The specific IP that tries to reconnect over and over is 92.124.45.18
10/28/2016 16:33:53 PM - (not logged in) (92.124.45.18)> disconnected
Direct copy pasta from the FTP server.
Is it normal to get hits like this at random? This literally happens within seconds of opening the server. It's not JUST this IP address or range, it's a large number of connections from seemingly all over the world.
I feel like that's not normal, but I'm new to the whole ftp thing. FWIW I don't plan on using this if I am going to have to filter out everything all the time, I'll just use cloud storage and remote desktop (which I have done in the past, just isn't as reliable as I'd like).
Any thoughts?
Basically every poor part of the world with internet is constantly spamming every IP they can find to hit any open ports.
Just ban all of China and Indias IP ranges and they'll drop off the radar.
Then it's for the most part normal? This one was Russia, but I've seen so many different countries it's ridiculous.
If it's nothing to worry about then I won't worry about it. It's still just annoying to pop in and see about 50-100 connections an hour.
especially if you're using default ports, yes, it's normal
there are bots all over the world that are randomly hitting random IPs with common passwords to try to find weak services
worth noting that FTP by itself is cleartext (not encrypted), so shouldn't really be used over the internet directly unless it's a public server
i'd suggest using sftp (ssh) instead
GNOME is the most beautiful DE
>>57287101
Is that from a tablet or something?
>Thoughts /g/
Not sure. It seems that many people on this site don't care. Hopefully 4chan is not kill.
>>57287030
does 4chan have a new image server now? i see that some images are is.4chan.org now not just i.4cdn.org
Heads up that lainchan exists. Its a very expertise-focussed imageboard, so not really for casual shitposting, but if you are passionate about technology I am sure you will enjoy it.
It has a cool cyberpunk vibe to it as well, which I like.
Do you remember the days when you had to buy a proprietary app just to use the RAM you bought?
I still have an EMS memory card somewhere.
No. When was this?
>>57287027
Jesus, I remember those fuckers, my dad had like 5 of them in one computer for some unknown reason
It was probably the equivalent of someone on g having 128gb of ram for the purpose of shitposting and YouTube.
I need Windows 7 Pro but i can't find anywhere to download it
Any help?
>>57286916
It is a product that you buy... Did you try to download a car too?

is it an easy process? If not is there any convincing excuse I could use to convince them to do it for me?
Thanks in advance.
>>57286843
>hey can i get my IP changed?

>thanks

stop spamming ... jamal? pajeet? I'm not exactly sure who gets banned these days
probably michael or mikey?
I'm looking for a laptop for under £400 but I have no idea what to buy.. Looking to play games at Xbox One level of graphics... Anyone got recommendations? I was thinking AMD APU as they seem kinda cheap, doesn't have to be new, 2nd hand is fine also.
>>57286699
x220
>>57286716
>x220
"Intel HD Graphics 3000 card" ... I'm good thank you. Looking for something that can play games with the kinda details that the Xbox One has..
>>57286699
No mobile GPU or APU has that kind of performance at that price point, not even second hand, you'd be needing at least a 960m or an m380.
What does /g/ think of this distro?
>>57286655
Never heard of it, so it must be garbage.
>>57286655
T-That's not Gentoo...
>>57286655
There's no good reason to use anything that's not Debian, Ubuntu, Redhat, CentOS, Gentoo or Fedora. All other distributions don't distinguish themselves in any relevant manner.
is there a giant deduplicated wordlist sorted in order of complexity? i want the easy passwords at the beginning of the file. how would you sort a wordlist in order of complexity?
Isn't this called a ranbow table?
I know they don't have to be ordered like that but I'm pretty sure they all are.
>>57286610
not a rainbow table. you can't use a rainbow table on a wpa2 4-way handshake
Define easiest. Alphanumeric only? Words only? Length based? Look at l0phtcrack and pick apart their algorithm for password cracking. Leetspeak is common.
Would emoji analysis actually work?
I know text profiling is already bulletproof but what about just emojis?
Nobody uses emojis when they are doing 'anonymous' shit?
>>57286595
Why wouldn't it?
>>57286619
>Nobody uses emojis
fixed
Screwing with people using tech?
I'll go first:
>Be me
>Go to some internet cafe
>I do various shenanegans like try to crack a near by WEP
>nmap the router
>22 SSH open
>ssh [email protected]
>Enter root's password:
>plansforming.png
>Set ncrack to work on that while I start catching packets on wireshark
>Get dropped
>MFW somebody caught on and MAC-banned me
>pull out external wifi chip
>THERIDENEVERENDS.jpg
>not being able to rewrite MAC with a firmware flash
>carrying around suspicious hueg usb dongles
>>57286497
Can't you just change your MAC at will with a single 'ip link' command?
>>57286554
not him, but my wifi chip is smaller than most usb sticks
>SCAMOLED
Pic related is not me
>>57286494
>wow burn in exists unbelievable
That said all my phones since they started making OLED phones have been OLED and I haven't had burn in on any.
Same with my VITA
The benefits AMOLED has on a phone outweighs the "you may get burn in if you constantly display the same image on your phone forever"
I assume they pixel shift like on plasma screens on OLED TVs and Monitors
>>57286494
((((((who needs hardware buttons anyway?))))))
This won't happen unless you leave your screen on for a whole day so things like display models will get the worst of it.
THEY DON'T SUPPORT THE ONLY COMPANY MAKING A VIABLE NATIVE LINUX OS FOR PHONES AND TABLETS
Here's my collection: Jolla, Jolla C, AquaFish, Jolla Tablet, Turing Phone and Fairphone 2
THEY WILL KEEP SUCKING GOOGLE'S COCK INSTEAD
>>57286492
I was interested in Jolla once.
Until they fucked me in the ass with their tablet. Absolutely inept company. At least they gave me a fucking refund.
>>57286492
Google has a linux free OS is the works, so that's good news. Android can stop giving linux a bad name.
i'm a linux user and I think smartphones and tablets are for women and children, i don't give a shit about your literal toys
my tecnological naggas I just bought a 13" rMBP 2015.
Never used macOS, just win and gnu/linex.
What are those things I should really know before hand about macOS ?
>>57286426
The first thing you have to know is that this is exactly the kind of question you should ask BEFORE actually buying the product
>>57286458
Not too worried since I could install any other OS on top if I dont like it.
