Why are these headphones never mentioned?
>That build quality
>That price
>Removable, durable 3.5mm cord can be plugged in on either the left or right headphone.
>THE GLORIOUS SOUND
>>
>>57299320
The build is shit. It's like actually bad to the point I managed to cut myself on the joints when demoing.

What's special about the price?

The cord is alright.

The sound is bassy garbage, sounds muddy. 50e headphones achieve this level of SQ already.

They aren't mentioned because they are crap like everything Marshall has done recently in consumer audio. Riding on the brand name and manufacturing average quality gear with premium pricing.
>>
>>57300048
You cut yourself on the joints? Are you retarded? I've had a pair for 4 years and I've never even gotten close to that.
They're $74 which is good considering the feel and sound of them. From someone that has simply demoed them, you probably listened to them with the sound dampener inserts inside. With them removed, everything is crystal clear. Literally have not seen a better pair of headphones for the price, also they look great.

What are some technological purchases that you regret buying and some that you are really happy with and why?

>FX8350
Should have bought the 3570K or the un-overclockable ivy bridge instead of this.
At least it came with a nice box.

>Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless
Should have bought a cheaper brand like Ducky instead since there's nothing special about it and it's like double the cost.

>Qnix QX2710
1440p hurts my eyes because of dpi scaling, the added screen estate is nice though but I end up zooming in because most fonts seem small.

>Toshiba Encore 10
10.1" is too big for a tablet and hard to use.
Windows 8.1 isn't good and there isn't a good manga reading app like Perfect Viewer on Android.
Web browsing is a chore because of how difficult it is to type on Windows Tablets.
Low resolution doesn't look nice.

>Samsung 840 Evo
Fast only in benchmarks but still takes me 20+ seconds just to boot.

>Beyerdynamic DT880
Expensive and required an amp
Gets warm and uncomfortable for long sessions. Can't wear them if the weather is hot unless you want to sweat into the pads.

>Fiio E17
Should have just bought a cheaper, non portable AMP/DAC.
The battery got bloated.

>FiiO M3
Bought it to replace my broken Sanas Fuze, boot times are long and it gets really hot when playing songs with large image cover art which makes the battery last shorter.

>Thinkpad T420
Ugly TN panel, bezel around the screen feels cheap and the top bezel near the webcam is coming off

GOOD
>Xiaomi Max
I use this as my tablet now and it was pretty cheap. MIUI isn't as bad as people say once you install a launcher. I like that I can hold it with one hand unlike my 10.1" tablet and typing on Android is much better.

>Swan M10
I stopped using my DT880s the moment I got these except for voice chatting

>HD7870
Still a decent performer at 1080p

I tend to recommend notebooks to people, a lot

recently I realized that I am opting for thinkpad edge series very often
in the 500-700€ category thats basically only thing I mention

they are solid
intel wifi, keyboard and touchpad that are 100% without issues, good hindges and reliable cooling cooling, front firing speakers,...
really except for shitty displays when with HD, and only acceptable FHD, theres not much cons
oh, also thinkpadfags will think you are just faker because not T line

anyway, I feel inside me inkling to look for some alternatives to them
like I am just becoming your typical /g/ child that just parrots recommendations he saw the most in some threads

but nothing seems to come close even on just the paper :(
never mind the actual notebookcheck and youtube reviews

but it fucking cant be
there must be something decent out there
what exactly are japanese guys doing with toshiba and fujitsu?
or dell inspiron and vostro? HP is decent in lower price tier category, but feels like not worth it once the budget is above 500
acer and asus have such terrible naming schemes that even I have trouble navigating their offerings apart from asus UX line and acer V nitro line, those do stand out to me

so any recommendations to what I should look in to?

Software engineers are usually hired to make an application or the design of an application.
This is good if you want to get a job quickly and let experience be the determining factor in your pay.

Computer scientist usually work on solving general problems and make algorithms.
CS is good if you want to be a scientist.
Get a PHD and write papers about how you solve problems.

Now both can work as the other, but they are generally less equipped to do so.

Ask former students or students who are nearly finished with their degree and hear what they have experienced.

Another way to phrase it:
Scientists study theory to improve understanding.
Engineers use theory to make stuff.

Hey guys I have pretty much no tech experience and I need a website developed for a professional tournament thing for smash bros. On this website there needs to be a tournament calender, person directory/archive, a place to link twitch streams, a place to write articles, a place to put a power ranking on,a place to put photos and have a merch store. People have told me I should use square space but I don't like how unprofessional it is and how it says "powered by square space" at the bottom. To get an example of the closest website I am looking to emulate check out:

Please help me out /g/. Idk what to do or where to go to get this professionally done for under 500 dollars or if that is even possible. Thanks guys in advance I know I'm a noob :/

What are the advantages to running your own email service? Is it more secure than having an account with services like Gmail? If the state wanted to gain access to my email how many hoops if any, do they have to jump through to get to it.

>What are the advantages to running your own email service?

Almost none once you consider the drawbacks.

>Is it more secure than having an account with services like Gmail?

No. You versus a multi-billion dollar corporation with thousands of paid professionals with specializations from a variety of different disciplines? Google spies on you, yes. It also can give your information over to the state, yes. However, if you're just average Joe, it is quite secure (all things considered).

>If the state wanted to gain access to my email how many hoops if any, do they have to jump through to get to it.

If "my email" meaning on your own mail server - almost none, most likely. Intelligence agencies have almost infinite resources to attack you.

I don't mean to sound like a dick or a doom-sayer, but, realistically, running your own mail server is not worth the hassle. Just use something like Protonmail. If other people also use Protonmail and you mail them, it never leaves the Protonmail network so it is effectively end-to-end encrypted. This implies that you trust Protonmail, however.
>>
>>57309548
>If the state wanted to gain access to my email how many hoops if any, do they have to jump through to get to it.

A subpoena would require that you preserve the emails currently residing on the server or risk contempt of court charges. A warrant would allow the authorities to enter your home and confiscate the server itself.
>>
>>57309548
one case that is more secure is that you ONLY send emails to yourself.

if you go public and start using it for your fucking crunchroll account or some shit then you might as well just use a gmail account with a bullshit name and a backup phone number.

Due to difficulties they can;t all go into one text file.
