That people only need up to 16GB of ram on their """"PRO"""" laptops

This changes everything! I wonder what apple will decide """"PRO"""" users will need next!
Most software development editors actually make use of F buttons to debug and step through code, how will they replace that with the oled screen

Why is it such a chore now to actually get any useful information on anything? Everything seems so much shorter than it was.
I remember reading web sites about a single battle which were 10x as long and thorough as Wikipedia's summary of the entire war, which doesn't even have an article for said battle.
The size of text files (including HTML) are negligible to the current internet infrastructure, so why do people use the far less efficient and information-dense formats such as video?
Because having one long, yet small, file that can be saved and then read offline later made more sense when you were charged by the minute.
Because people can't grasp the concept that the internet is not a big truck.

I have someone offering me a 64GB Sandstone Black OnePlus One for a damned good price (far better than I was expecting) with original box, accessories, bamboo back cover (including the original Sandstone Black cover too).
I know it was "the phone" for a while considering the price and with 64GB I can (almost) live comfortably knowing it doesn't have expandable storage or a removable battery but I'm just wondering what others think.
Any OPO owners out there willing to offer some advice or suggestions? What ROM(s) are you using on your devices, battery life (considering the OPO is just over 2 years old now so I expect to be getting a new battery soon if I get this).
Anyone... anyone... Bueller? Bueller?
>>57312304
OPO owner reporting in.
>advice or suggestions
Get it on cyanogenmod or nightlies if it isn't already. Sultan's cm13 is also good but personally i want to get rapid updates because 7.0/7.1. Still opo is loved by devs so take your pick on ROMs, its pretty fun if it's your thing.
Get a kernel or flash ukm for that freedum to tweak. Makes a difference.
>battery life
Haven't changed out it's battery, and I've had the phone for 2yrs now but battery life holds well. Get approx 5hrs SOT with 1-1.5days unplugged from the wall. I keep data and location always on, as well as bluetooth cos pebble time steel. Used to be amazing back in the kitkat days, often hitting 7hrs+ but oh well:(
It still runs wonderfully, i can't complain. Everything is smooth, has all the bells and whistles (5ghz wifi, nfc, faster lte support than my carrier can deliver so far) and it just does everything i want. Camera is good, get the snapdragon camera because 60fps video is nice. Yeah its still relevant.
>>57312598
Pretty much what I've been getting as a response in various places so yeah, I'll probably get it. I noticed there's a Kali Nethunter distribution for the OPO as well, in fact the devs of Kali consider it their preferred device for that tool - I'm not a pro pen tester or anything but learning something new can't hurt so that would be cool to play with for a time I suppose.
Was watching some review videos of CM14 on the OPO just now on YouTube, seems to run awfully smooth as expected so yeah, it's definitely something I can't pass up on considering the price (well under $100 cash) so it's not like I'm breaking the bank.
Thanks for the response.

Have one as well, the battery to me seems a bit subpar on certain launchers. Like I couldn't go 5 hours before having to charge. Performance is good but it gets hot. Cameras both is sub-par. Your case options is limited but I don't put a case on it so it doesn't really matter.
x86 is deprecated folks. It's only a matter of time before ARM takes over. Who seriously needs a desktop computer in 2016?
>>57312262
Intelligent people.
ARM is still too slow to handle any decent emulators

hey /g/, im thinking of setting up a storage server for all my movies and animu, but have no experience with building these
im currently thinking of pairing 4 6tb hard drives in Raid 10, is it good idea?
>>57312172
Essentially all you need is any pc/laptop you want, install Ubuntu or whatever the fuck you want and set up a smb share or install plex.
>>57313260
does the type of hard drivr matter?
>>57312172
No real reason to go with RAID 10. Offers the same level of disk failure tolerance as RAID 5.
or you can be crazy like me and run 28 drives in two RAID 50 arrays.

stallman is not a philosophically pure person. he follows his ideals when convenient, and ignores them or slightly alters them when the conflict isn't worth it.
stallman is an egoist in denial, afraid of admitting that he just wants some fucking source code instead of a world where he has to rely on other people because he knows he wouldn't get it that way.
his system has some practical merits but his attempts at creating moral justifications are completely pathetic and nonsensical. how low do you have to be to have to make up bullshit "oughts" when you can just say "it would be fucking better"?
This thread will be friendly.
