replace OS X with windows
I saw someone post about this not long ago, and I was reminded of it.
I can't explain why, but I really love the idea of using a PS2 as a computer. The design just looks so... Perfect, especially with a (preferably black) CRT screen.
However, with 32 MB of RAM, you'd be lucky to run anything at all on it. I know that Linux on PS2 has networking capabilities, but that likely won't matter if you can't even use it to shitpost.
So, how hard would it be to replace the motherboard inside it with a Mini-ITX and swap out all the components with PC components, while keeping the original look perfectly intact?
>>57318773
You mean just use the case?
you could rehouse a mintbox inside it, but honestly specwise kinda a rip if you ask me. it's cutesy but if you got money to burn it would look pretty cool
http://www.fit-pc.com/web/products/mintbox/
i heard there was a netbsd PS2 port
is it making any progress? maybe you could run that instead of gutting a PS2

That was funny.

Just wait some more. It'll be good, we promise. Dont get a really good deal on a Skylake processor and GTX 1080 this black friday. Please dont.
What? Skylake is piece of shit

Good. yes. Just wait for AMD.
And if Zen sucks wait some more.
AMD isn't forecasting strong sales of Summit Ridge parts on the builder market. They're aiming for enterprise with their Opterons primarily.
It's cool that you know all of those programming languages but do you dream in code?

So I'm pretty sure most people here are aware of the low profile gtx 750 ti. but does anyone have any info on the Galax low-profile gtx 950?
So far the only info I've gathered on it is this (I think)german review of it and a japanese amazon link that I'm fairly certain won't ship to me.

Wait for GTX 1050(Ti) and hope they make a low profile version.
This is /comfy/? in terms of a good camera?
I been wanting a new full frame camera for bit but i don't know if this is the best full frame camera for the price.
For the lens I plan to get a used canon - EF 24-105mm lens for maybe $500.
I plan to keep both the lens and camera in a special faraday cage.
>Just in case Hillary becomes POTUS and conflicts with Russia goes nuclear you don't want to $1500 in camera to get fried by an EMP blast from the nuke
Is worth it or are there better cheaper options for full frame camera
Also tell me what kind of camera you have right now

>>57318054
Redundancy m8
>>57318025
We've done it at a large college. Surprisingly expensive in terms of upkeep and support if you run things like vLab or vDesk spaces, licensing is a pain if it's per seat or per user, and even with redundant systems it can be an ass and a half to deal with. Networking control and restriction can also be kinda bitchy, then again I am not at NetOps in my job. Does make imaging and restore/backup pretty easy, though, and there's another layer of security (albeit more of a form of obscurity security at this point).
If you're just talking about Lv2 shit, like VMWare Workstation or Parallels auto-running at start or something, or pushing out items, then it does have its advantages, but you need an IT team that can coordinate this shit, and many schools/offices just don't or don't have the cash/time to do so.
Also, it's hard enough to train some people to press the goddamn buttons on their keyboard, this adds an additional layer of complexity that many non-tech savvy people don't care for, so you'd have to abstract as much as you can.

Hello Siddhārtha Gautama, didn't know you were still kickin
alright i got sick of the lack of games and slightly worse gaming performance in linux so i switched back to windows. all my favorite games ran and all was well, except for the fact that the OS as a whole feels noticeably slower (which is weird considering i have high end hardware) and applications crash more often. its annoying as fuck, i tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling windows, scanning for viruses, disabling my antivirus and nothing fucking works. when i ran linux i didnt have any of this bullshit. i got so used to the fact that linux doesnt run like yakub's sphincter did 6600 years ago that i said fuck it and reinstalled linux. windows is better my ass fuck you /g/uys you all can suck my smelly unwashed va/g/ina.
