The first jet fighter flew only 36 years after the Wright brothers made their historical first flight. Is there any modern technology that has advanced at a similarly astounding rate?

Home computing? It's only been 39 years since the first home computers were introduced to the market and now I'm typing this on a smart phone connected to 4g. The World Wide Web was invented only 12 years after the first home computers were introduced, which is even more crazy to me than the fact that it's been 39 years since home computers became a thing. It seems that when a new technology is introduced, it develops very fast for a while then development slows way down, like how militaries today still use lots of 40 year old jet fighters, but 40 years ago no militaries used planes from the 1930s, which was 40 years ago to them.
So i am writing a script in python to scrape all the images from an online directory. However, the directory is protected with cloudfare. I used cfscrape to initially access the source for the page so i could grab all the urls for the images, but when i try to use urlretrieve to actually save the files it returns a 403 forbidden URLError. I have also tried to use URLopener class to change user agent, just spits out a different error that once researched just points to the same thing, the 403 error. Anyone have expereience getting around cloudfare to actually SAVE files?
bump, any help appreciated
>>57327047
Please don't start a sentence with the word "so".
Have you tried putting a sleep in between download access attempts?
>>57327211
Duly noted lol. and yes I have, 2 seconds at a time, i'm about to try 6 seconds as the cloudfare generally delays access by about 5
I use Ubuntu and I encrypted my entire HDD & also I encrypted the home folder, all that in the installation process.
How safe is this encryption? I can do anything I want to do and I can keep whatever I want on the PC?
I mention that both passwords for those are very complex and hard, 25 characters with letters, numbers, special characters etc.
>>57327009
If you're asking whether it's safe enough to keep your kiddie porn on it, yes.
If you're asking whether it's safe enough to keep state secrets on it, then no.
>>57327026
Why is a no for the state secrets?
They don't have quantum computers, right?
>>57327036
According to Snowden, the NSA can break a 10 character password on an encrypted disk within 3 days with just brute force. It'll work but you gotta make sure your password is about 32 characters long.
So yeaterday my mom gave me her motorola moto e, this'll be my first smartphone, botnets are icky and I'm interested on installing a safer alternative to android
is ubuntu touch any good? What else is there?
>>57326899
aosp
CyanogenMod without Gapps
>>57326899
Ubuntu touch is fun but i don't think you have any support for that.
You could install cyanogenmod with microg instead of gapps
Anyway to block the skeleton without blocking all images?

You'll get rid of everything except the one in the top left, but eh
I have a column every cell is unique (thousands of cells).
I have a range of 25 of those cell values that I want to find and highlight.
How do I find a range of info instead of doing control+f for each individual one like a faggot?
>>57326783
Bump. I am genuinely interested, opperino.
So you have thousands of cells in a column and you want to find 25? Based on what? some values?
Range of info.... Do you want to select 25 random cells?
Learn pivot tables - it might help. Though you are being vague on what you exactly need.
Pivot tables would look-search for specific values etc. depending on what filters you use and would create a table with those only if configured as such.
Aruba just SHUT DOWN my fucking server...
>be me
>using a cheap VPS as seedbox
>access limited to myself
>be me today
>cannot connect to it
>check emails
>aruba says they received "complaints" regarding unlawful activities
Why is this happening?
What if I'm simply downloagin backup of stuff that I physically own?
I mean... the server is even in Italy, so I'm sure I'm not doing nothing wrong
Also, what's a good alternative?
>>57326711
c'mon /g/entooman, what do you use
>>57326711
well, just checked the wiki and found a german service a little more expensive, but at least is a serious one
Maybe you should stop pirating shit and make legit copies from the ones you actually own.

Is it possible to get a job where all tasks all database related? No java, c# or c++ programming required? Does a job like this exist?

So, I had a problem with my phone and I needed to reset it.
The problem is that I lost important messages.
How can I try to recover them?
You kept backups, right?
>>57326643
Nope, I had one but it is too old, I need more recent files I didn't backup

Most free/open software is not free. You are bound by licencing to give your hard work to anyone who asks for it, forcing you to share it with everyone.
We should rename Free/Open Source software "Ransomsource" software. You are being held under threat of litigation to release every aspect of your software.
If you share something in real life, you can't just go "lol give me credit" or "I'm sharing this with you, but you must share it with everyone else or I'm suing you".
Free software is not free unless you can use the software and it's code in any way without giving credit to anyone and you should have the ability to make it proprietary or change it at will without sharing it with everyone.
Free software is anti-business and founded on communism/socialism. Boycott it. Support developers and support companies who make great, reliable software. You can't rely on some fat neckbeard to produce anything of worth.
So many companies have been litigated for taking "free" software and making it great, without giving credit. It's not a companies fault that a freetard cant make good software, and needs proper developers to do the job for them.
Try and refute me, protip you can't.
Checkmate Stallmanfags.
How about you take a second and read FSF philosophy?
>>57326478
I have already read your glorious leaders communist manifesto.
This is why permissive licenses are the only free licenses.
GPL is pinko commie shit.
I want to use picrelated folder for actual documents like books etc. but this thing is always full with programms/gamesaves etc.
Is there a possibilty to keep this empty and using another folder for the programms? Using win10
Also is there a programm, which allows to make transparent folders like app-folders on iphone? So I can organize my programms in it and keep the desktop clean.
Easiest solution: create a directory named Documents and use it instead.
>>57326341
So no other solution than that?
>>57326388
Alternatively, you can install gentoo.
