When will there be an open source alternative as refined as MS office?
There is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org

>Actually using "office" software
>Not just writing all of your shit in LaTeX
>/g/ thinks you should be allowed to encrypt files
Encryption is terrorism
yes, let's just ban encryption, then criminals writing malware surely won't use it anymore
>>57330773
Where will they get their encryption software from?
Redpill me on "data scientists".
Some of them work at my company but I've never had any direct contact with any of them, however from what I've seen, it seems that they're literally not doing anything -- ever. Yet they seem like the smuggest motherfuckers ever with this condescending attitude -- they will look at everyone else like they're beneath their level for some reason.
What's the point of them? They aren't programmers, they aren't system engineers, when my friend told one of them that they're only gathering statistics they all got offended, so what exactly do they do?
But your image isn't of a just-white-enough-and-hair-straightened-to-appeal-to-the-beta-cucks-on-/g/ black woman.
>>57330726
They're basically statisticians that don't do field work. Usually all you need is some minimal working knowledge of introductory grad statistics. Your data scientists sound like complete shit heads.
>>57330726
In theory, they work with data, meaning some analytics, some statistics, probably some database and some algorithm background.
Real question is if the point of this post is asking about data scientists or bitching about shitty coworkers.

Couple seniors quit over the summer, HR compensated for them with a bunch of complete newcomers. That makes me team leader on the virtue of being the only one who has at least vague idea what this project is about.

no not a gypsy.
I'll be in the US in a couple of months, and I wanted to take the opportunity to buy some parts for upgrade.
Where do you guys get your parts, physically? I'll be in NY for less than a week, can't really order them by mail.
>>57330395
craigslist
>>57330413
>>57330395
Yup. The only best place is craigslist. Try Goodwill mate or some thrift shop if you can find decent enough things.
>>57330413
>>57330429
I guess that's better than going to bestbuy or walmart.
Why are search engines illegal in America?
Because why would anyone need file sharing except for stealing copyrighted materials?
because they don't want you to find out

Reasons to use Manjaro?
Reasons to use Debian?
Is Manjaro just Ubuntu based on Arch, not Debian?
what the hell is their logo even supposed to be

Any neckbeards on here that were around when BBS was really popular? What was it like?
I've been reading about it recently and it looks comfy as hell
>>57330157
Exciting as fuck. No one I knew in real life had this hobby. Tons of beautiful ANSI art, interesting discussions on whatever topics, chats and downloads. The idea that you can "talk" to several people at once without actually speaking was mindblowing.
It was such a time when you truly knew you were on top of something big that only mainstreamed several years later. The rebellious nature of the scene is not present anymore other than to some extent in boards like 4chan. Retards were then of course, most of us were probably 14-20 yr old. Good times, definitely.
>>57330289
Seems really cool. I wish I was around at that time. It seemed like whole BBS/internet dawn really brought out the best aspects of the internet. Sharing, meeting people, connecting, etc.
I made a thread about bbs on britfa.gs a while ago and a guy said it was such an inconvenience compared to how the web is. Although i can imagine the awesomeness of how niche and fringe it was
i wish you computer faggots would just go and die. fucking losers that live in their parents basements that spend all their money on un-needed shit, just to show their friends that they have a bigger e-penis. The funny thing is too, you fucking faggots know nothing about electronics at all, mostly just a bunch of teenage kids that need something to feel special about because they have no friends.
hello new friend. Please follow the link back home .

I wish you programmers and EE people would fuck off to /sci/ where you belong.
But I like the smell of cum in my room.
When did you realize 4chan is just another social network?
>>57330011
the moment i heard about it
when was it ever something else?

Many anons like to think imageboards somehow aren't SNS cancer.
>>57330011
After 2 weeks or so. You should see my filter list ,about 70 of threads are always hidden because they are constant shilling or company advertising. gpu/headphone/mobile/cpu/brand shilling and not to mention daily cancer threads where 98% of the posts are reports from last thread. baka
Looking at the Vizio M series 55 inch.
Seems it's only 60hz vs the 65 inches 120hz(true)
If all I do is play PS4, WiiU emulators, and BD rips on it, will 120HZ make a difference?
????
Any input?

I'd recommend buying an LG instead, they have IPS panels, and still have TV tuners.
Plus the smart features are a bit smoother.
