Hey /g/
Is there a "wild west" of technology today?
In the US?
The other day I got transferred to a store in the shiny side of town, and a guy walked in saying he was an engineer in silicon valley during the 80's - he wouldn't stop yapping about cocaine interviews and pot-stankin offices, and his younger wife, who was a programmer or something.

After watching this series, I'm beginning to wonder if similarly hands-off working environments still exist.

>Is there a "wild west" of technology today?
Yes, Shenzhen.
>We examine the unique manufacturing ecosystem that has emerged, gaining access to the world’s leading hardware-prototyping culture whilst challenging misconceptions from the west. The film looks at how the evolution of “Shanzhai” – or copycat manufacturing – has transformed traditional models of business, distribution and innovation, and asks what the rest of the world can learn from this so-called “Silicon Valley of hardware".

>“Silicon Valley of hardware".
What a retarded term. What the fuck do people think the Silicon is for?
/g/, what's the safest site to pirate software? I pirated like 2 tbs of free shit. It's so fucking good and useful and I want to make a fortune of it. Should I get a group of people to collab and make money on the Internet? How much is many? There's many artists online I like and producers I like. What's should I do?
>>57342643
You want to profit from pirating shit on the internet? Yeah, I don't know m8
>>57342643
There's no money to be gained from shit like this unless you know what you're doing.
Also 2TB is far from much.
You can try private trackers but they aren't in it for the money and judging from your dudebro post, I guess the quality of your "shit" is subpar for them any way
Maybe buy some servers in panama and sign up to shady ad networks. But if you don't know how launder money and protect your identity from de gubermant, you're screwed.
And IF you're screwed, you're screwed big time.
Save yourself the trouble

>Should I get a group of people to collab and make money on the Internet?
Well i guess so.
>How much is many?
If you want to pirate then you'd need a ship and a crew in the first place.
I'm getting a new phone with my girlfriend, and we arrive to the subject of switching over towards a different OS. She is open to the idea of getting an android, seeing me use mine and found it had a good range of things more.
I try to tell her not to decide on the kind of phone you want, primarily on the basis that you've always used that brand, that's how old people think.
Guy that helps us get our phone turns out to be an iPhone user, and surprisingly, he has no idea what he's talking about. Despite the iPhone being significantly more expensive than a just as good android, she makes the buy, primarily on the basis that the guy suggests the phone.
Thoughts?
People are dumb, what else is new
I hate this blog, I don't remember subscribing to it

GTX 1060 6GB vs RX 480 8GB - What buy?
I need a new graphics card. My old one can't handle games any more ( GTX 660 )
CPU is an i5-4440 with 32GB RAMs
>>57342506
Gtx 1060
>>57342506
1060, the RX 480 is literally another r9 290/390 rebrand AGAIN
>>57342506
480 obviously. If you check the most recent games it blows the 1060 out of the water. Besides if you want a future proof card ready for directx12 that's the one.
Anyone else still using a Linksys WRT54G?
Mine's been in continuous use for something like 12 years and still works.
Mine's in a box somewhere at my mom's house. There was no need for it after buying a wifi modem like 8 years ago.
Still have it as a back up just in case.
Used to lock itself up all the time on stock firmware if I used torrents and would require a hard reset.

hows that 10/100 slow ass bandwidth treating you, OP? you need to step up to gigabit routers nigga! get with the 2016
Okay /g/ so i met this girl a few months ago, we strted chatting and we agreed to have a distance relathionship shit thing, etc but the thing is i'm not confortable with it, i want to make sure who i am talking to etc i'll cut the bs
I want to verify her identity, i know roughly where she lives, hair color, first name, age, i have a pick of her i tried a basic google reverse image search but no results, and i know she doesn't have fb but maybe snap
Anyway, any idea on how i could do this?
>>57342427
ask her for verification. that simple
I'm retarded i'll call her ty..
>>57342427
wat
Just get her on skype or something and get her on cam then tell her to raise her hand or speak to you in real time
Reminder she could still be a huge liar you can't trust though
Since these are a fucken mess, what is a good alternative for completely wireless bluetooth earphones?
None of that wire connecting the two buds shit.
>>57342346

>>57342346
>None of that wire connecting the two buds shit.
Yeah man wired headphones ruined my life
Samsung has some really expensive ones.
How come the Windows source code was never leaked?
>>57342314

It's worthless spaghetti anyway
Why do macbooks have such utter shit build quality?
maybe try not being a mongoloid who drops shit all the time
>>57342338
Notice how he said ANY impact. That means even your delicate little girl hands would have trouble keeping that laptop in shape.
>>57342354
nope sorry, none of my electronics ever experience any impacts because i'm not a fucking retard
Hello /g/. I'm building a new system, but I can't decide which motherboard brand I should choose. I don't care about money as long is it reliable. thanks for the help
Pic unrelated

So who gives a shit?
They are all fine, just don't buy Apple-Foxconn.
The future is NOW.
>>57342258
Jobs hated the idea of accessories like stylus and dongles to use devices. That is why he forced his team to perfect touchscreen instead of stylus like Samshit.
He would be rolling in his grave right now. This is pants on head retarded. They solve one problem by creating nine new ones.
>>57342357
The stylus at least makes sense. How else would you achieve a pressure sensitive wacom-tier display? The other shit is retarded though
what will be the next step
I work for Great Clips and the employees are treated like robots. The amount of money we make is determined by numbers which the company's computer program calculates. We are hired at minimum wage, and unless we can give our customers a haircut in 13 minutes, sell a ton of product, and ensure we have a busy day, there isn't much room for advancement. They care more about our numbers than the quality of our work. We make more money handing out sloppy 13 minute haircuts than we would giving people quality haircuts in 20-30 minutes. In fact, I may get fired because I find it extremely hard to make myself hand out fast sloppy haircuts in a short amount of time. I like to give quality work and I can't bring myself to allow someone to walk around with my legacy on top of their head unless it is something I can be proud of... But when my times are slower than they want them to be, not only does it screw up my income, but it slows down my entire salon's and lowers everyone else's income as well. We have averages for each individual, as well as the whole salon in general. What I want to know is if there are any tricks or hacks to outsmart the system? If anyone knows anything about this program or maybe has some advice (realistic advice. I can't quit my job. I have 2 kids I support on my own and work is hard to come by where I live, so please don't suggest I quit or blow up the building), anything would be appreciated. I believe this is the site for the program it uses: http://www.icsusa.com/icsSoftStyleSuite.html
Also you can read more about the program here: http://www.franchising.com/articles/point_of_contact_cmo_terri_miller_on_great_clips_innovative_pos_system.html
Thank You!
>>57342242
Get a better fucking job or stay a wagecuck.
Only advice I can give you
>>57342242
Don't clock in; just clockout at the end of the day and tell them you forgot. A whole day of their 'numbers' gone!
I get my hair cut at Great Clips, the online check-in usually works.
Getting a haircut is also the closest thing I ever experience to physical contact with a female.
Are the PCI-E SSDs actually worth the extra money when building a PC? Speeds are good but would it make a big difference?
It would make a difference in speeds.
>>57342192
NVME SSDs are not worth it for consumers. Just buy sata SSDs for half the price/GB.
>>57342192
depends on your workload and use case
I want my SSD which has all my programs and OS on it to be run in RAID 1 with another idential SSD. I also want to RAID 1 my 4TB hard drives, what computers specs should I get? Do I need more RAM if I have larger storage
gentoo
I dont really see how having more ram would matter much. I'd still shoot for 16gb though just because ram is cheap as fuck now.
>>57342104
To my knowledge, putting SSDs in RAID 1 isn't really needed, since they don't break often enough to warrant the cost of a drive you could use to double your storage instead. For the HDD it should be easy enough as long as your mobo supports it. System memory won't affect it much past a point, 8GB is a safe option as nothing is typically going to use more than that, you'll want a reasonable CPU, but as long as it's not total shit-tier it should handle it fine.
