My shortlists:
Hosting:

>easyspace
>nethosted.co.uk
>justhost
>1&1
>inmotion (US)
>hostgator (US)
>bluehost (US)
Email:

Domain reg:
>123-reg
>Namecheap
>GoDaddy

In site5 u can have website and email hosting in the same hosting account and it works very nice.
>>57345002
Aren't I supposed to keep hosting, domain reg and email separate? In case the provider starts jewing me
>>57344886
Hosting:
- I've used OVH for years and they're good. Don't if "best", but never had any issue with them.
- Justhost: Don't. There's better and cheaper elsewhere. Don't get lured in by their (attractive) new comers offers.
Email:
- Google Apps for business is very good, but i got my account for free back when it was free for small accounts.
- I'd advise against setting up your own email infrastructure, for the reason that you need 100% availability or else you will lose emails. Unless you're very tech savvy, let another company handle this for you
Domain reg:
- OVH: again, no isse with them
- GoDaddy: is good also
>>57345137
- Most important is to have a very serious domain registrar. You don't want your domain to suddenly expire, or suddenly change your DNS (hello, Justhost).
- Then emails, as long as you go with a reputable and serious company (google, ms, ...) you shouldn't have any issue.
- Actual server hosting is the most trivial, in case anything goes wrong, take the backup, let the server die, buy another one elsewhere, change the DNS and restore the data and you're good to go.

That looks very inefficient, by hiding all your control elements, you must be hurting your productivity immensely.

Why aren't we building more Thoriumreactors /g/?
>>57344231
I don't know the exact details, but I know that the thorium is extremely corrosive, so finding a suitable container is difficult.
A friend of mine working on his PhD in nuclear engineering told me that LFTR reactors are basically pipe dreams
>>57344268
I have honestly never heard about that downside.
Is this what you meant?
On another note, will we ever make nuclear fusion feasible

Dear /g/.
Im sorry for making separate thread, but Im too confused about CPU coolers and their performance.
When I was buying new PC like three weeks ago, I thought I dont have to spend too much money on cooler and got SilentiumPC Fera 3 - model claimed to have performance level of CM Hyper 212 Evo, one of the most popular models on various build threads. According to producer, it was supposed to work well with max TDP of 180, so I expected it to be enough for i7-6700k.
But despite that I installed it correctly, it reach rather disturbing temperatures during work, as shown on pic. Note that this is NOT stress test, it is just running some CPU intensive task (which just happened to be a game, more CPU heavy than GPU).
At first I thought I need a better cooler and checked internet for reviews of popular model of Noctua NH-U12S. Techpowerup (www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Noctua/NH-U12S/6.html) tested it on i7-3960X ES (TDP of 110W) and at 100% load and overcloked to 4,1Ghz, it reached 66C. Sounds okay for me.
But when I searched for review of water cooling Corsair H80i, on the same site (techpowerup.com/reviews/Corsair/H80iGT/6.html), tested with i7-4770K, overlocked to 4,2 Ghz (TDP 84W), it showed 83C on max load, with NH-U12S with 91C! CM 212 Evo was also on the chart, with 95C!
Im extremely confused right now, /g/. How I should interpert TDP values, if CPUs with similar frequency but lower TDP reach much higher temps than CPU with higher TDP? How can I find out, which cooler would be safe for i7-6700k?
Just in case somebody would be curious - case I use is Corsair 200R and mobo GA-Z170-HD3P. Max cooler heoigh for case is 160 or 165mm, so Im afraid that very large models would not fit.
Thank you for any reply, advice or help.
Anybody?

Put your display to sleep, but not the computer
Go to Automator, create a new Service. Set the input to None, add a Run Shell Script action. Put this inpmset displaysleepnow
Save it, name it something like "Sleep Display Now".
Open System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services
Scroll down and find "Sleep Display Now" or whatever you named it. Make a keyboard shortcut, I use Cmd Option \ because it's near the Cmd Option Eject, which puts the entire computer to sleep.
-----------------
do you have another mac? maybe you just want to control your volume from the terminal.
alias mute='osascript -e "set Volume 0"'
alias vollowest='osascript -e "set Volume 1"'
set this up on a machine you regularly ssh into and you can control the volume from the terminal
the volume goes up to 10 i think
------------------# Finder
alias hideFiles='defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles NO; killall Finder /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app'
alias showFiles='defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES; killall Finder /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app'

like this
Or you could have just cmd+shift+eject/power and did that without all that hassle, which puts the display to sleep...
>>57344039
My bad it's actually ctrl+shift+eject, not cmd
