Good evening /g/.
What's a good budget netbook? I'm looking to use one alongside my PC to take notes at lectures, etc.

We're looking at >350$ or so. I don't really want to spend 1k on a surface pro or something as I already have a decent build.

>>
Netbook isn't the word you're looking for. Netbooks were slow pieces of shit that died out about 6 years ago. You're looking for a tablet pc or an ultrabook

If you're looking to take notes on the cheap take a look at a used x200t or x201t

Just make sure to pick something with an active digitizer
>>
do you really want to take notes using a smaller-than-standard size keyboard? shit gets old real fast

they dont know about that

they just like apple because its cool to buy apple because the media promotes it famous people promote it and their friends use it so they think by using it they are fitting in

What's wrong with planned obsolescence? Back in the days, plastic was "high quality", it never broke down, it will poison the world forever. Now it brakes down in a few years

What does /g/ think about the IdealOS essay that is going around, detailing ideas for a modern desktop operating system?

I don't believe the "only messages exist" would be very useful nor efficient. I agree file systems are very bloated with few features brought to the table though, non hierarchical would be interesting.
>>
>>62011390
I genuinely don't know enough about IPC to know whether replacing everything with a single type would be quick or useful enough. I get the appeal of the idea.

The filesystem shit is a no-brainer but no major OS vendor wants to do it. A ton of software exists to get around the lack of a proper database in the filesystem.

The overall opinion of the piece, that desktop operating systems are all shit and bloated with legacy bullshit, seems really true, though. I'd love an OS redesigned from scratch without all the bullshit bogging it down, and that includes a ton of shit legacy software, both free and proprietary. Both POSIX and Windows are such a fucking bummer.

Hi Josh. Good ideas but who's going to develop it? You need to start.

Literally biggest AMD advocates out there taking the torch straight from Tek Syndicate's cold, dead hands. One of their guys is literally a Pajeet and just like with Logan from Tek their results of AMD benches somehow turn out to be 20% better than my real life results (I had this issue with both 280x and RX 480). Fuck them, I'm kinda glad Vega is a PoS outdated fossil cuz I can't bring myself to buy it. Ryzen is sweet though.

It's 43" and basically 4 monitors in 1. Marketed towards finance professionals
