Windows is good.
Fuck that's a sick leash. Should've been a bit more photorealistic, but it's a damn good idea.

Is the Kindle Paperwhite still the best option for an e-reader? How are Kobo Glos?
>>57408395
do you need e-ink? because a tablet works just fine imo
I have a kindle but isn't kobo better in most ways ? If I'm not mistaken it supports more formats and you can "rent " library books on it with overdrive. There must be something I'm missing here. I torrent all my books tho
>>57408410
I want eink because I want to read it in the dark without getting insomnia
>>57408422
I'm planning on torrenting all my books too and having to convert to mobi isnt really a problem desu
Also only going to read books on it. No mango or shit
I have a server I need to work on in about a week.
How do I install an operating system on an IBM server?
What is the best OS to install on a server.
How do I make a cloud on that server?
>>57407930
Install Gentoo
>>57407943
Okay, but seriously. How do I install a cloud network on a server?
>>57408274
Gentoo comes prepackaged with cloud networking programs. All you need do is set it up.
Just got my first home lab started. I got a virtualized pfsense vpn and CentOS web server. What guest VMs do you have? Thought about maybe spinning up a Windows 2012 server to mess with Exchange or IIS.
FreeNAS, windows with pci passthrough for gaming (steam streaming), unbound dns caching server with dnscrypt-proxy.
>>57407955
What OS are you using for your DNS server? I'd like to look into doing that myself.
pfsense and windows server 2012 then a windows 7 client to practice active directory and gpo

Anyway i've been playing with it in VBOX and it's pretty cool. The installer is a bit wonky though, Like if you don't get it to show the gpt or dos partition menu the installer shits the bed.
runit is fast as fug though. Thing boots in like 5 seconds.
Why so some of you hate "phone posters?"
It is a perfectly legitimate way to browse 4cham, sorry not everyone is locked in their dungeon and actually have things to do.

Hi,
I have to use one note for work. I'm not a fan of cloud crap and I'm afraid I'll accidentally share shit on my computer (or it'll 'helpfully' sync everything) that I don't want people seeing.
I'm planning on making a separate user account on my computer and just using one note on it. It's not like one note will share shit on my other account, right?
How can I use one note with minimal risk of embarrassment? Thanks.
>>57407357
Also, if I uninstall one note on one account, I can still use it on the other one, right? Or does uninstalling remove it on all accounts?
>>57407379
Bump
>>57407357
How would anyone see your notes unless they had access to your account on a computer that you use? And why are you keeping private shit on a work computer/program?
How viable of a business is refurbishing and reselling old computers?
What happens if the refurbished computers break down? How would u protect yourself against people suing you for data loss?
>>57407316
can you sue dell if you buy of their computers and they break?
>>57407213
Its not
Only poor chinks do it

I have a laptop (running Ubuntu) that I've been given for an assignment. I don't have root access and the account that I've been given doesn't have sudo access. The only network it's connected to is an internal Wi-Fi network that is not connected to the internet. I don't have the password for this Wi-Fi network so I can't connect to the same network as this laptop.
Since this laptop will be placed on a mobile robot which will constantly be moving around, I would like to control the laptop remotely. I would like to use the desktop environment because I'm using an application with a GUI for most of my work (so ssh isn't enough).
What is the best way to achieve this?
The usual methods for gaining root access (recovery mode and liveUSB) don't work since they've protected it with another password. I don't want to try cracking the Wi-Fi password for the internal network since it will be easy to detect and I may get in trouble for it.
Pic unrelated, it's just there to grab your attention.

why does it matter what distro you use when you can customize almost all of them into whatever you want?
>>57406517
Because most people are too lazy to actually learn to do this.
Distros have different use cases and methodologies
>>57406612
This. People want a distro that work from them. They will probably find them and change tune it for there needs.
Who would win in a fist fight?
Not rms.
