I thought Twitch ran on HTML5 nowadays? I'm I going to have to use that ghetto fucking livestreamer workaround?
>>57416909
What OS and Browser are you using?
>>57416924
GNU icecat browser
Windows 7 because it's my mom's computer
>>57416909
>e-celebs
linux mint 16.x - perfect
mint 17.x - some tweaking required
mint 18 - error trying to install
opensuse - errors while trying to fix errors
cent os - error trying to install
fedora - cannot remember error
debian 8 - took some effort but finally ok
so regression all the way
i blame it on microsoft
linux was moving along fine while windows was a real threat, but since ms decided to kill it's own OS branch, they took a vacation as well
so it's back to the roots folks
anyone know where i can get a copy of memmaker?
>>57416820
MS-DOS was a shitty design and you had to tweak a lot but it was so simple you had an esay control of your machine. Windows 1 and 2 were good file explorers too.
>>57416820
>fails on basic installation
PEBCAK
Don't forget desqview for that multitasking goodness.
Are these memebooks any good? They all look the same to me. At $200 I'm thinking of buying one for when I want to be cozy.
>>57416720
nah just get a t420
>>57416720
At $200 hell yeah, better than anything else you could get for that much.
>>57416750
Why would OP want an ugly brick?
>>57416720
I've got an acer chromebook 14 that I got for 200.
it's good, I like it.
staying outside all day is comfy af
I am Linux user not windows fag.
I want to buy a good laptop but dont want to pay for Windows. I dont need Linux preinstalled, I can do this myself but it seems like all brands always come with Windows 10.
What do?
Some OEMs let you choose if you want windows when you buy from their site, but usually not when buying from 3rd parties.
I know dell, for one, does this.
>>57416727
did this :(

Just switch to Linux already
Why should I switch from GNU slash Linux?
Some analysts at Credit Suisse have predicted that the iPhone 8 will be set to release on the iPhone’s 10-year anniversary next year on June 29th, which would be slightly ahead of when the iPhone 7 released this year.

The pixel is the iPhone 8 anon.
Chances it has no external ports?
>>57416826
I hope so. Maybe that will make the retard realise how shit it is.
For me, it is Slackware. The best Linux distribution.
>>57416355
It's always cool to see another slackware user on /g/. It's extremely comfy and the simplicity of it is awesome. It has the best installer of any distro, that is a fact.

So Slackware users are delusional on top of everything else that's wrong with them? Interesting.
Is there a good MP4 to WebM converter for MacOS like MasterOfWebM for Windows?
ffmpeg
>>57416378
I need something with an easy to use and simple GUI
ffmpeg looks like hacker stuff

That's a big pizza.
Why haven't you entered the void yet /g/?
>>57416322

Why are you shilling for such a niche distribution?

Well, at least it did this much right. Non-systemd distributions are getting harder to come by.
>>57416413
Because it's really nice and i like it.
It boots in less than 4 seconds on my machine and idles at like 200mb of ram.
What's the best laptop I can get at best buy right now?
MacBook pro

Something that isn't Apple OS though, I just can't work with it
These are dark times
>>57416262
what site/s
>>57416262
Not particularly. Unless you thought modern home computers overtaking room-sized analog computers was also a "dark time."
Trying to decide which one to install. Also I've been hearing a lot of good things about Solus. Give me the pro's and cons of both, i've only had experience with Ubuntu a few years ago, but have never had linux as my main OS
>>57416182
arch
-pacman
-has all the new software
ububtu
-botnet
-just werks
>>57416182
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
GET IN HERE KEVIN
use loonix they said
you could game on loonix they said
>install mint 18
>install proprietary nvidia drivers
>install steam
>while watching videos there is some weird horizontal screen tear/refresh rate mismatch or something
>while playing games this happens also
>graphics look blurry in all the games
>update kernel to 4.4.0
>install latest nvidia drivers
>problem is still there, nothing changed
yeah....looks like im going back to an unsecured microsoft botnet
>inb4 games are for kids
I have a full time job in the tech sector and have graduated college.
>you could game on loonix they said
Who?
>I have a full time job in the tech sector and have graduated college.
Ever heard of virtualization? Dumb memegenerator poster.
>>57416103
what hypervisor allows for me to install microsoft botnet and not take any performance hit while gaming?
>unsecured microsoft botnet
wut? just get windows 7
So is it just a meme or is it actually good
> first class ZFS support
> networking stack blows windows and linux out of the water
> jails more secure than Linux containers by a large margin
> simple rc.conf service management
If you don't understand why these things are awesome, you probably just haven't been around Linux long enough.
>>57416201
I mean for a desktop experience.
It's okay if you don't care about security at all.
