Thank you, based nVidia, for including me in the botnet!
>nfaggots will defend this
wtf I hate NVidia now
>>57419208
why do people keep whining about telemetry? it's just anonymous usage statistics. they want to know which features they can stop caring about to maximize the usage of their developers and testers.
>>57421480
This method Nvidia uses dumps memory statistics, which means if someone decided to create something that sniffed for the packets phoned home they could intercept things like passwords and personal information.
I'm shocked someone hasn't made such a thing for 10 yet considering how much it wants to phone home.
/g/, why is he so angry at apple all the time?
doesn't his career literally depend on normies accidentally breaking their apple products and bringing them to him for repair?
nobody wants to watch a low energy complacent shitskin
>>57419171
A guy like him probably already has backup plans in the event his business model becomes unsustainable.
>>57419171
Yes, but I would bet he'd rather be doing something else if he couldn't make so much money doing macbook repair
Is there a complete list of command line arguments for Chrome? Specifically I'm trying to use Chrome from the command line to download an image file. I can launch Chrome to the image I want to download, but that's all I'm able to do from the command line.
Don't say just use wget, what I'm downloading requires authorization in the form of cookies, I need to use Chrome to access the images.

There's some way to use wget with cookies for sad panda

http://www.itpro.co.uk/strategy/27510/investigatory-powers-bill-passed-by-house-of-lords
I'm just waiting for the leaks of the surveillance that they've been doing. I wouldn't be surprised if this catches up some of the lords that voted this bill in. Or they might have made some deals to cover their asses and it's why they voted for it in the first place. We don't know if they were blackmailed into voting for this.
Someone should ask them why they voted to eliminate the people's privacy.
>>57419119
>Vote Tory get glorious brexit and endless government surveillance
>Vote Labour hand over the fawklands to a bunch of niggers and endless government surveillance
>Vote LibDem and ignore democracy but don't get spied on
>Vote UKIP and get glorious brexit and no actual policies so probably government surveillance
There aren't actually any choices here

Who do britfags hate freedom?
My USB suddenly is not being recognized and is asking me to format, i lost several semesters worth of assignments and notes, i tried with software to recover the data and not a single file could be found
What else could i do to recover the files? why aren't any of the recovery programs working?
it says file system is RAW, which is a fancy way of saying it is corrupt
>>57419118
Install Gentoo.
>>57419118
probably no hope bruh, this is why you have more than one copy of shit, also for school shit I'm surprised you're not using google docs/drive
the "software to recover the data" you used probably ruined any chance you ever had of getting it back.
Try opening the drive from a linux livecd.
How do I get i3 windows stacking functionality with the benefits of running a lightweight desktop environment ?
I love the way I can switch between windows in i3, it certainly increases my productivity but not using a desktop environment comes with the downside of having to spend 30minutes playing around with scripts and applications everytime you need to change something about your set up.
The things I like about desktop environments are:
A centralized settings GUI.
Easy way to change display resolution / output.
An easy to use interface for my audio instead of messing around with pulse audio/pavucontrol.
Out of the box notifications.
Easy way to change my keyboard layout.
Basically I want a desktop environment like xfce with the stacking window system that i3 has because I'm actually a productive human being and I can't/want spend an hour configuring config files.
Which is my most viable option /g/?
>Easy way to change display resolution / output.
lxrandr

setxkbmap

ponymixer/media key shortcuts
>>57419242
I know I can do everything a DE does by using separate applications, but I want all that to work out of the box and I want a GUI for it because I don't want to have to remember where are all my config files located and have to change them every time I plug to it another monitor or something.
Basically a DE but with the way i3 manages windows. I've read about i3+gnome but it looks like that project has no maintainer.
Why isn't your website using HTTPS?
Certificates are free. There is absolutely no reason not do to it.
>>57418957
Have you actually tried using Let's Encrypt?
It's a huge ballache for anything more than a simple single site web server, and the certificate expires after 3 months.
StartSSL has been free for years and is far more convenient
>>57419007
So what? Setup a cron job which regularly checks the certificate's expiry date and then renews it automatically. They even provide a script to do that, all you need to do is run it.
>>57418957
But it is.
I was fapping and waiting since LE was just starting to form.
This is why I trust OpenBSD.

Windows 10 seems to have BASH installed in the background via Ubuntu. Why have I not heard of this? Is there something wrong with it besides the obvious?
It will be double bot-net, the second most normie Linux, sketchy beta support and Windows 10 now with extra bloat. It should let me run Linux apps without having to dual-boot my gaymen machine.
Win10 pro also has virtualization but only a handful of Linux OS's are suported by the more flexible second generation machine.
These new Snaps Ubuntu is working on, they look like they might be similar to portable apps for windows but in a zip file. I would expect them to get tied into this BASHed Win10 thing.
I won't have time to play with this till until Monday night.

Because you are a newfag who needs to lurk more. its been talked about to death
>>57418517
Now you can install Gentoo
>>57418517
It's still in beta phase, so they're not promoting it.
It's a non-default optional component. How the fuck did you manage to have it installed "in the background"?
Also, it sucks. The problem with Bash and Windows was that Windows didn't use Bash as its main CLI. But Bash on Windows is an entire operating system, on Windows, but without any graphic capacity. Why would I need to use that?
hey /g/uys I have a question:
Is it possible for malicious data to survive a drive being formatted?
>>57418490
yes
>>57418490
If you only format it without making a new partition table, maybe. A drive might also have some hidden sectors you can't usually access.
Is it possible?
No, how can something run in a specific userspace, if the userspace is not installed yet?
Within the next 5 years the United States will be operating the world's 4 most powerful rockets.
The Space Launch System of the Federal Government, the Falcon Heavy by SpaceX, the New Glenn 3-stage by Blue Origin, and the Delta IV Heavy of ULA.
It will also be operating a shuttle like glider and 4 space capsules, 1 of which is a deep space vehicle capable of beyond lunar missions.
It will also have 2 types of rockets that will have reusable 1st stage boosters that can land after launch.
Additionally, it will commence construction of an Aldrin Cycler for Martian convoys.

How do you convert seconds to microwave time?
let's say you have 60 seconds that would be 00:60 but if you have 61 seconds then it would be 01:01
