You can export the settings of your extensions individually then import them after you do a refresh.

Friendly reminder to not use your ISP's DNS servers.
pic related, from wikileaks.
>>57441859
KEK told me to setup my own DNS server with Gentoo and pdnsd + dnscrypt.
i simply refuse to believe that anyone on /g/ is so stupid that they're using their ISPs DNS. even if you ignore wikileaks, ISPs' DNSes are relatively poor-performing and unreliable.

So I really like philosophy and think about all the complex things about computers are so exciting, so I thought about getting into philosophy at university, but like I said I like things that involve computers, but just in theory, I do not like my hands dirty in code, I find it very boring, so my question is, theres anyway; Any place that mixes both? (Sorry for my "englixh")

How does /g/ remember their passwords? Do you use a manager like keepass or do you memorize it yourself?

For those that work with software to communicate with coworkers.
CMC: Computer-Mediated Communication
FTF: Face to Face
Questions:
Do you use any tech for communication at work? If so what?
How often do you use this tech at work to communicate?
How efficient and effective is communicating with tech in your line of work?
What would you say are the advantages and disadvantages of CMC?
Have you felt a difference in tone with those you talk to FTF and CMC? What was the difference?
Do you think its necessary to learn methods of communicating through CMC software in order to communicate through tech efficiently?
Someone just give me one good response.
>>57441670
You expect antisocial introverts on /g/ to give a fuck about communication skills?
>>57441687
But it's tech related! Tech ultimately is a tool for communication.

LeEco, which has been selling smartphones at ridiculously low prices to gain market share all while pouring hundreds of millions of dollars to develop their own electric car, is in dire financial strait after burning through investor money at an alarming rate while failing to meet market share goals.
The fact that LeEco is having trouble raising more capital is indicative of the Chinese VC market cooling.

>The fact that LeEco is having trouble raising more capital is indicative of the Chinese VC market cooling.
it seems more like evidence that having no plan to get out of negative cash flow is a retarded idea.
lots of businesses spend more than they make at some phase or another (including to build marketshare), but it's not clear what benefit leeco could possibly have by acquiring marketshare of the smartphone market, so selling at a loss proved a stupid plan.

I have not kept up with new release dates or schedules since I stopped gaming. I need a new phone, laptop, and tablet.
I wanted the Note 7 to combine the phone and tablet into one, but that's not an option now.
So, Pixel (XL?) or Oneplus 3T?
Dell Latitude or Lenovo Thinkpad?
Any recommendation on what tablet to get? I only want it to take notes, I don't intend to play games or anything on it. Just read and take notes on it.
Is Dell or Lenovo about to release anything new that I should wait for? I don't really trust Lenovo after the spyware, but people are still recommending the ThinkPad.
I am a EE and CE student, so I will need to run some intensive programs on the laptop. I fixed someone's Latitude and thought it was quite nice.
I am unsure about which phone to get. I want a tablet to read books and to take notes, so I need a stylus. I can't wait another year for the Note 8.
I prefer the Latitude over the Thinkpad. Are they about to be refurbished or upgraded or anything new on the horizon.
Tell me what to do /g/
There is no spyware in thinkpad line
As a student, you won't be able to take many notes with a stylus on a phone.
Get a good pen and a binder and take white paper from the printer and use that.
Getting a good quality binder with a low profile is very important even though it is expensive.
As for what phone to get, just pick something that has the screen size you want and gets updates for the OS you want.
There are no great phones, so this is where they change.
As to when certain brands release new models, look at when the last two or three was released and interpolate from there.
>>57441310
I know; they only put it on consumer devices, but Chinese companies are notorious for industrial espionage.
>>57441352
I tried out the Note 5 at the ATT store and thought it was amazing. I previously had the Note 3 before going to the Oneplus One. The Note 3 stylus sucked for writing.
I like to jot down thoughts, ideas, etc which is why I was so keen on the Note 7.
Pixel XL and Oneplus 3T have nearly the same specs except the 3T has more RAM. I've heard good things about the Pixel and I would actually be getting software updates. I am leaning towards the Pixel. I have a chipped screen on my oneplus one and no repair store in town can fix it. To send it back to China to fix would be $200 which is slightly less than what the phone cost me in the first place.
If I can find a tablet that has a stylus as responsive as the Note 5, I would like that. Of course pen and paper has its place.
I'll do some more research. 3T might have more RAM but I don't know if it has a fingerprint scanner, infrared to act as a remote, etc.
I am leaning heavily towards the Latitude.
I'll look at the tablets and see if I can find one that would work well to read a book and then whip out the stylus to make a note in the margin.
I have an old XPS 700 desktop and a HP Pavilion 11z. Is there anything worthwhile I can do with them?

There isn't such a candidate.
What is the best note taking software for a CS student? I want something that allows me to type formatted code, comments, and also draw diagrams on the document using my touch screen. Is there any program that would allow me to do all of this?
I've tried a lot, but no note-taking program is better than a good old-fashioned notebook.
Google Keep is the best if you absolutely want to do it on a computer though.

Learn markup for formatted code. Use any paint application for diagrams. Embed the pictures using markup.
I'm phone-illiterate.
My phone has 4 gigs (8 total, 4 of which is I'd assume the OS) of space which is almost full. I noticed that moving stuff like games from the internal memory to the SD card only moves about half the data, which didn't really help.
Is there a way for a retard like me to move more of the game data from the phone to the SD card without fucking up the phone?
