Betternet VPN, Why don't you use it?
Free VPNs do nothing for privacy, you retard. Only high schoolers that want to get around school blocks use that. Found the underage person on here.

I want privacy.
Reasons why i don't use linux on me desktop.
>no driver's for muh motherboard
>Gpu drivers are ass for sli GPUs
>No software for controlling my mobo hardware
>Lack of professional programs Adobe, Autodesk, etc
>No gaymes
>TFW linux won't even boot kek.

>>57506748
>no driver's for muh motherboard
Willing to bet this is a crock of shit. The current linux kernel has support for the most modern Intel chipsets, as well as AMD.
>Gpu drivers are ass for sli GPUs
SLI works perfectly fine for proprietary nvidia drivers. Works fine on open source AMD (only newer cards)
>No software for controlling my mobo hardware
Also probably very false. Unless you mean some stupid ricer GUI for overclocking. This can all be handled in CLI or through many GUIs.
>No gaymes
Growing number of games. Maybe you should be asking your parents to help you with the computer though champ. They'll find some safe sites for you to play your games on!
>TFW linux won't even boot kek.
So you're either underage, a troll or retarded. Gotcha.
Is Solus actually worth using?
Budgie looks really nice, but why not just use it on Ubuntu or Fedora instead?
no
Are you really that gullible to a person who literally just spams "use solus" without any reason
>>57506720
absolutely.
>>57506720

Are there any video editors on Linux that aren't complete shit?
The ones I have tried so far (Openshot, Pitivi, and KDEnlive) have as much functionality as Windows Movie Maker and crash twice as often as WMM

I love Gnu/Linux but compared to Photoshop and Premiere there is no tool as powerful.

Answered my own question. Blender looks promising so far
But does anyone have any other suggestions?

How was this proprietary pile of shit even allowed to become a standard? Can we stop it? Libreboot's usage seems exceedingly limited.
>>57506471
>Can we stop it?
nope.
computers have gone to shit, you lost. suck it up, and enjoy your botnet shillshit.
>>57506555
I guess I'm buying myself and old Thinkpad, then.
Also, checked.
Wasn't libreboot scuttled by the tranny?
Also to use it, you cannot go more recent than the thinkpad x200 IIRC.
I secretly hope that when ARM becomes the new standard thanks to muh mobile devices, a generation of open source hardware à la raspberry pi will emerge and become mainstream.

shit, I think I used that to rip cds to mp3 the first time. In, like, 2001 or so. It didn't look like that though, it had this brown skin, maybe wood like.
What's the latest equipment /g/-related shit you've scored for free, or criminally cheap? I drove forty minutes to pick up a Kenwood receiver with Infinity bookshelf speakers for free!
Disk caddy for my T420, literally for just asking nicely.

i got a mac air for free because the magsafe charging cable had a broken conductor (yes this a true story)
helped the owner with a few more tech problems and he threw in powerbook g4 that i have for comfy threads.Charger was toast on that one too
i also got given an iphone 6 that had a shattered screen and passlocked - my friends was convinced it was a paper weight - i forced into into retsore and manually upped the .ipsw and the fucker wasnt tied to icloud ! - and activated no probs
2016 has been a great year.... a free macbook air - macbook g4 and iphone 6 also found some nice shure iem's at the park.

How do you hook up your music? 3.5mm input?
So, I have some problems with my roommates because they use this big Bluetooth speaker to play loud music all day, eve when I am studying, and they seem to ignore me when I explain them. So I have been looking for any way to cause interference to stop them from playing loud music in our dorm. Does any one know how to create this kind of interference, and if so, what do I have to do?
You should probably consider that if your roommates speakers stop working all of a sudden, they are going to know it was you.
The mature thing to do here would be to confront them openly-and firmly, if necessary-and make sure they know you need them to meet you halfway on this.
>>57505793
They can't prove shit. Fuck with their speakers. It sounds like DOSing the Bluetooth device is the best way to screw with it. Basically, you spam the device with pairing requests until it is kill. I found this with a little searching.

Can someone explain to me why there is no standardized rechargeable battery pack for lots of generic devices? Like a size for phones, one for laptops, etc, something like how batteries A-D work? I get that devices have difference requirements but it seems like its about the same as before microusb and many devices could be run on the standardized battery.
>>57505326
different sizes mean different capacity/output
>>57505722
Yeah so a couple standard laptop sizes, a couple smartphone/tablet sizes. I mean near everything could if they wanted to could run off AA batteries, they would just be bulky and look bad.
NICD/NIMH cells require a rigid outer metal casing due to the nature of their chemistry.
LIPO/LION cells can be manufactured in just about any shape or size, so capacity/voltage can be scaled depending on the amount of room available.
Why would you want to restrict anything?
