Why did Apple decide to make this things suck so hard??? The previous ones were practically godlike.
The trash can aesthetic aside, most graphics/video pros cringe at the mention of them. Also upgradeability is a joke...

the design is phenomenal, as is the silent and efficient airflow considering how compact the machine is. The only thing that sucks about it is that they still haven't updated it to 2016 hardware, which is ridiculous, considering that it's a "pro" machine

Fuck you, this is a really innovative and neat design. The old Powermac g5 design was looks positively last century now.

My dad said that the latest versions of JavaScript such as ECM 6 means we will soon be able to use apps and do unlimited things with raw technology without having to use an operating system as all modern tech uses JavaScript. Apple, google and Microsoft are outraged and won't let it happen because it would destroy their markets.

Is this true or is my dad full of it?

It's not overkill for 144hz no. 60hz 1080p is overkill though.

If it was so easy to come up with a low-level language that does true memory safety with speed close to C, why didn't someone do it first?

I don't care if SJWs are trying to take this over, it seems like a fucking brilliant language.

do you miss him, /g/?

i dont mean it in a macfag way

we have to accept that the guy pulled pretty based all-around products, and neat detail here and there

i still prefer (even if i dont use it) an apple that releases cool stuff, than the shit they are pulling off right now

they are getting literally beat by chinks, which is sad to be quite honest familia

I'm not glad he's dead, but I'm glad he's gone.
>>
yeah, absolutely. i hated apple products but you couldn't ignore the fact that smartphones were dog shit in 2005 with no sign of them getting any better in the foreseeable future. the iPhone lit a fire under google's ass to make android less shit.

portable media players in 2000 were awful as well. the iPod similarly forced competitors to take that product category more seriously.

i think it's also arguable that the surface pro, surface book, and maybe even the surface studio were microsoft's (apt) responses to the fact that apple was just trashing the fuck out of PC manufacturers, and microsoft figured it needed to step in to show others how to not suck dick at making good laptops and tablets.
>>
i do. the watch is shit. airpods are the first new apple product i've been remotely excited about in a long time.

Still an -whore, but i worry that they really don't have anything cool in the pipeline this time around. hopefully they will buy out/build a product to compete with Magic Leap.

Is it inevitable for the majority of people to become technologically impaired at least to some extent in their older age no matter what?

>Is it inevitable for the majority of people to become technologically impaired at least to some extent in their older age no matter what?
No.

When I was still in college I had a professor that was well within retirement age who was still up to date on the state of the art within SoCs and embedded development.

It's a matter of passion and interest for what you do.

Old people today were generally dismissive of the technology developments of the 80s and 90s, and when the boom of handheld computing devices exploded in the 2000s, they already had a huge knowledge gap that prevented them from catching up.

What Android version are you driving?

So I've got on Nougat for a couple of month's. It's nice to have the latest version, but I'm missing features from Marshmellows Xposed. Also, not all features of Cyanogenmod are present.

Should I wait for them to come, or revert back to M?

I'm on M but apparently N is releasing for my phone any day now. Chinks finally pulled their finger out it seems. What are you missing?
>>
>>57537018
Still on KK
I'll get M once I get a new phone
>>
>>57537026
Mostly talking about features such as theming, the ability to record audio and video with my camera, Xposed modules and such. Everything worked in M, and should work later on when the bug are fixed. I'm just wondering if it's gonna be a month or a year.
