Ask someone who works from home anything.
I do break/fix for idiots. It's mostly closing pop-up ads for your grandmother and your technologically challenged uncle.

Self employed? How did you get yourself in a position to work from home?
Searching for brands similar to Razer or Logitech that sell everything a gamer needs.
(Keyboard, mouse, headset, webcam, ect. black with red led would be cool)

My roommate spills on or near his laptop all the time and It finally broke last week and I'm wondering what he can get to replace it that's spill proof but cheap. It only really needs to run vlc chrome and utorrent. If there's something on the market with these qualifications for less than $100 that'd be great, otherwise I'll just look for something used but I don't know what laptops are spill proofed and worth getting. Anyone know anything?
Replace your roommate.

Try not spilling shit like a fucking retard?
Is HBM going to be the new thing? Just getting into building pcs. A flagship like https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-21246-00-40G/dp/B01012TLSS/ref=sr_1_1?tag=amazon0606-20&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1445198429&sr=1-1&keywords=Fury+x
If I want to build a pc now, should I just stay with grdd5x?
>>57612067
Where did all the text go?
>>57612067
Yes
>>57612096
idk lol.. but should I just get a 1070 in the mean time? when will HBM actually be a standard thing?
Well /g/?
Which one is better.
JavaFX
>>57612060
QT is objectively better.
GTK looks better.
Vim or emacs?
>>57612033
i use nano. it's simple and it's doing what it should do
>>57612082
Until now I do so aswell. Sometimes I also use vi(m), depending on if nano is installed or not. And for basic stuff its fine. But within the next time I'll work a lot under linux shell with a lot of long files, so I'd like to learn a "real" editor. I just dont know which one.
>>57612033
Can anyone explanin emqcs in this pic? All of them make sens except emacs
What's a free online gif/webm storage? I already have flicker but it only supports static types
>>57611905
convert your gif/webm to sound and upload it on youtube
>>57611918
I don't think it works like that..
why can't you just store on your hard drive? these are small ass files
if you want access on different machines, you can easily gmail them to yourself
if you're paranoid protonmail gives you 500mb, that's a shitload of gifs
So, why do you care if web browsers use over 200 MB of RAM /g/? Don't we have 8 or more GB these days?
Why do you care if someone shits in your mouth? Don't we have toothpaste and mouthwash these days?
>>57611852
I care when they start shitting the bed.
>>57611852
I wouldn't care if it seemed like my browser was actually using the RAM for anything worthwhile.
If you speak neither Mandarin nor Russian and live in the US, is there any point in using WeChat, Weibo or VK?
For those who use any of the above services, what are your experiences like and how do they compare to their Western counterparts like Twitter/Facebook?
You can use WeChat to score some qt Chinese ladies. Other than that, there's no need for those services in the West. We mainly use Facebook (Messenger) and WhatsApp.
I haven't used Weibo or VK, but I like WeChat compared to WhatsApp. The settings in WhatsApp are messy IMO. I guess the other services are comparable to 'our' services.
>>57611780
>score some qt Chinese ladies
That's a pretty good reason.
How is the WeChat app on Android? Is it a memory, battery hog? I'm assuming its pretty aggressive with the permissions it wants.
>>57612755
I was talking about the Android app. I don't remember it being a battery hog or abuses permission. Obviously, it has some background services running, but most chat apps do that.
>That's a pretty good reason.
As a bonus: there's a feature to check out the profiles of other WeChat users near you.
