I've been using Razer Deathadder mice for the last 6 years, and although I love the way they feel, it seems like I have to replace them every 2 years or so. My current one is starting to wear out and I was thinking of buying the Elite, but $70 is a bit steep if I'm going to end up replacing it soon anyway. Are there any better, more durable options out there or should I just spring for either this or a cheaper model since I am already so used to it?

What were the so-called 'good old days' for you, /g/?
While my first OS was 98, my computer nostalgia really goes back to XP. It was 2005 when I was 14 and got my first computer (that is, separate from the family one).
80GB HDD, 512MB RAM, some shitty NVIDIA card, AMD Sempron 1.7GHz. I loved the fucking thing. It lasted me a good three years at the time.
XP as the basis for HL2 and other such amazing Golden Age gaming titles, also customising the shit out of it and breaking it with the Longhorn Transformation Pack...
What's your story /g/?

Longhorn and Vista are two different things (though this says nothing about the virtues of Longhorn itself).
'Aesthetically', Longhorn was fucking gorgeous, though. There were some genuinely exciting things going on with that UI which Vista didn't include.

So this shit has been bothering me for a while and I never go here but anons, I need help because you guys are going to call me tech illiterate or some shit.
So if I want faster download speed, do I need a better router? Or switch the plan with my ISP? Same applies for my Wi-Fi, I only get 2 Mbps through it and I want to upgrade, also I get 23 Mbps wired.

If you're content with 23Mbps wired speed, then maybe a new router would be better. Wifi speeds seem to improve as new standards come out, but I don't think you can say the same for wired.

If you want faster wired speeds you need to pay your ISP for it.
Chances are you are too stupid to know how to setup a second router on your network to get better wifi so I would simply recommend asking your ISP for a better modem with better wifi.

long time lurker but more for education than anything else. I need to make a secure portable OS. What OS should I use? How should I encrypt it? how do I become untraceable with it.
I had the "hardware" sorted. im going to run it from a USB with a microsd card. So I can keep the Micro SD separate.

You don't need to make it... Just use Tails https://tails.boum.org the reason why the logo is a usb drive is because it's MEANT to be portable.

Avoid skype, using skype while trying to be secure is like trying to not be noticable in a city crowd without any clothes. It might be possible, but I can not imagine a way it is possible.

I've got a guest over who isn't really an acquaintance, he's more of a family member's acquaintance, but he insisted on a wired lan connection (he's staying in the house for free) and basically he's a bandwidth whore. Last night he basically ate 95% of the allocated and even text sites have trouble loading.
I know this because when I disconnect the cable the net goes back to normal. Now, today it's something different. Today I can't even download stuff off steam, I have no access to the steam cloud, and battlenet won't login. The weird thing is when I speedtest, I get normal numbers and the net is still usable. So I do the cable thing (we only learn when we experiment) and lo and behold, Battlenet works again, and Steam can download again.
Am I just being paranoid or is my internet getting hijacked?
