So im a junior consultant and my current assignment is cleaning up a failed atempt at a data warehouse at a company which handles financial transactions.
The problem is, i have no experience with this, except for what i have read in the kimball book. My boss lied on the interview, and said i had 3 years experience.
I know some buzzwords, but that is about it.
Now they expect me to be "proactive" and solve all their problems.
What would you guys have done in my situation?
do what you can, read up on what you're not familiar with, succeed or get fired.
if you're fired at least you know it wasnt your fault
>>57638791
There will always be the first time, right, Anon? Maybe your boss just believes you can handle the job.You too should believe in yourself. You can do it!
>>57638791
Go to a book store. Buy like three Dilbert books. Read them all like three times. At that point you should know what to do. Hint: you need to become Wally.
I haven't used Skype in months.
* Is Skype becoming irrelevant?
* If that is so, why?
* What software are you guys to replace it?
>I haven't used Skype in months.
You reverted from normie to hikki.
>is skype becoming irrelevant
>If that is so, why?
For neets, it was never relevant.
>What software are you guys to replace it?

No, you are just unemployed
Although you're getting both bluetooth and wired capabilities, top tier noise cancelling, comfort, decent-good build quality, long battery charge and voice prompts, is it worth the price? I've tested these out in best buy and I really enjoy the sound quality and noise cancelling. I'm a student who transits by bus in the afternoon and walks downtown quite a bit by the way,
I actually have these, for the first few days they hurt my ears after about an hour, didn't really feel anything when I tested them out at best buy so that surprised and worried me for a bit.
Now though I wear them for about 9 hours at work and 4 hours at home playing games or talking on Skype, even with the extended use it pretty much lasts me almost the full 2 days without a charge and charges really fast.
Didn't mean to sound like a commercial but they're really great to me, I know it hasn't been very long but I've had them for about 3 or 4 months and they look feel and sound as good as day one but I got them with an employee discount, so take that as you will.
I own these, the sennheiser, and audiotechnica meme headphones. These Bose are great for noise canceling. Amazing for flights, games, etc. I love the sennheiser feeling, Bose hurts the top Of my head after a while. Worth it if you can afford it

Are they WORTH $350? Probably not. But they are worth whatever YOU think they are worth. Consumerism 101. You failed the class, sorry senpai.
>pay $1799
>doesn't even work

Chairs are technology. This thread is to discuss the various technical aspects of chairs and how chair designs can address ergonomic issues for desktop computing.
What are you sitting on today, /dcg/?
You can call me a shill but if you like firm chairs the DXRacer chairs are really the best. Stick with Steelcase otherwise.
>buy $100 chair at costco
>abuse the fuck out of it for 6 months
>return and get a brand new $100 comfy chair

"Comma's mission is to win the race to selfdriving cars."
Still very optimistic about the comma one, Geoge has a flawless track record and hates losing, so I really don't see him throwing a years work and tons of shit talking in the sand like that
Get ready for a surprise...

I have installed Xubuntu 16.04 in a vm.
Pretty comfy, but what should i do next?
Why is xfce 4.12 not updated already? Sure it is stable, but cant the xfce devs not find bugs to fix? How hard is it to contribute?
>>57638038
Install it as a your main OS. Xfce has always had slow development, since the 3 xfce devs do it in their spare time, and atm they're busy porting everything over to gtk3.
If you want something with more active development, use mate. Xfce and mate are practically the samething at this point.

h8?
Anybody know a website that lets you get a text message for free online? I'm trying to sign up for a site and it's demanding a phone number but when I enter it it doesn't recognise it, fucking annoying.
I've tried some of those free receive sms online sites but they never work.
there's no such thing.
you can use an old sprint phone to sign up for a free account at ringplus or pay someone $1 in that sketchy subreddit to get the text for you
>>57638008
it's called email.
Some time ago I used a site where you can even change senders phone number, and it was completely free. Unfortunately now all the sites are gone. I've even tried some email relays, but it didn't work.
Mobile-phone culture has ruined the internet forever.
