Friendly reminder that Lisp is the greatest programming language with the greatest programming community.
If you are not programming in Lisp, you honestly can not call yourself a programmer.

Should I add exception handling to my program only whenever Eclipse suggests it it?
Or more often?
Hey /g/, /v/ here with another "Is my computer going to explode if I try to play this" thread.
I'm basically running 29 clients of Ragnarok at 800 x 600 low graphics, and 1 client at 1600 x 900. My CPU is 100% under load at about 12 clients. I'm assuming it's not going to die on me as long as the temps are stable, but I want another opinion on it.
Here's my speccy for some more info.
I guess I should also mention I don't experience any lag with all of them running. They all go on low priority if they're alt tabbed or minimized. So the one I'm actually controlling, the others are just afk, runs fine.
>>58079480
can you lower it to 640x480? that's 19000 pixels lighter in each of them

Is the mpv learning curve a myth like vim?
I think people were traumatized by school and big manuals.
This is why mpv needs a beginner guide or tutorial (not manual) with pictures.
>>58079452
Watching videos should not be hard at all.
Config-tweaking is 100% optional after all, what do you need a guide for?
HOW TO INTO MEME PLAYER FOR VIRGINS:
Step 1: Rebind the keys because the defaults are awful. This is done by making input.conf, see the manual for more info.
Step 2: Just watch your shitty pedo cartoons, faggot. Anything more is rice.
Step 3: Cry.

>Is the mpv learning curve a myth like vim?
No, not even close.
There's no learning curve. Install and go. You don't need to configure the shit out of it for placebo. You actually don't need to do diddly fucking dick.
If you absolutely need to do so there are a multitude of config files to look at. Check what each setting in those configs does in the manual and choose what you need yourself. This is not rocket science.
Trying to craft a budget gaming desktop build, pooling some old suggestions I got, wanting to trim the price to 600 if possible but if it isn't it isn't. Any suggestions?

Determine the game you're going to spend the most time on and build your PC around the specs needed to play that game. As you make more money/save up, you can slowly upgrade parts.
i5, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050ti, 128GB SSD, install Gentoo
There you have it.

Never did a backup.
I only do backups for my laptop whenever I do an update.
So I guess I am.

I've been way too lazy to set up a time machine server, so me.
This dog is coming to stab you, the only way you can save yourself is by stating things you enjoy about your programming language of choice.
I don't believe you.

laptop with these specs:
> i7 quadcore (8 threads)
> 8gb ram (or more)
> dedicated gpu (nvidia or ati)
> 15.6" full hd screen
> can buy it in italy (with italian keyboard)
> can replace battery / ram / hdd
> good battery life
> not white
need it for work, will run debian 9.
needs to be able to run 4 or 5 virtual machines at the same time
if needed and handle load, dont plan to game on it but having
the option to play bf1 or something in the future is nice.
battery needs to last id say at least 4 hours while browsing with 2
browsers and like five programs open ( < 10% cpu usage with an i7)
Price is not an issue but i cant find a decent laptop that im sure
fits my needs. No ultra-gamer-led stuff and of course no apple stuff.
i was looking at asus g series (GL502VM-FY015T for example), i have a old rog-series laptop (6 years old) and its a very solid machine, but too big (17").
but im concerned about the battery removal / upgrade since its unknown if its
soldered or not.

So you want a laptop that does all the things gaming laptops do.
But you don't want a gaming laptop.

Lenovo Y50 look into it.
now what do? I mean, i have 600+ Gb of shit on my HDD and just 275 Gb free on my new SSD. Is there a way to just migrate the OS? Do i have to copy all the shit? I also have a 1,5 TB external hard drive

>Turkey's President Erdogan and the ruling AKP party are increasingly bent on silencing online dissent, and that now affects you even if you're smart enough to evade typical censorship methods. Watchdog group Turkey Blocks has confirmed that Turkey is blocking the Tor anonymity network's direct access mode for most users. You can still use a bridge mode for now, but there are hints that internet providers might be hurting performance even then. The restrictions come alongside a recent government ban on virtual private network services.
